The queue when checking in was the biggest ever experienced at a hotel! Also the price charged for phonecalls is very expensive!
Much more impressive than we expected at the price for such a good location in London.
Convenient to the West End and very helpful staff. Very close to easy transport links.
Location, and the feeling of being home away from home as we have been staying at Thistle Marble Arch once a year for the past four years.
Very central location. Close to tube station and Oxford street. Less than 10 pounds for cab to Paddington station. Room recently renovated. Nespresso in the room. Lots of storage (drawers, closet space). Very professional staff. Free printing so we could checkin for our departure flight. Comfortable bed and pillows. Renovations still ongoing. Construction was happening in the room next to us during the day on a weekday. No construction on weekends and it started at a reasonable hour on weekdays. Few amenities in hotel, but we weren't looking to use them. My wife didn't sleep as well as she needs a contour pillow and one wasn't available.
Please write at least 15 words Most of all I liked the location and the size of the room I did not like the entrance,a lot of walking to the room and too crowded
It was near Oxford street Very old furniture small size bathrooms no complimentary accessories
Location Waited a long long time to get an elevator, we tried to use the stairs but it was alarmed at level 1. Why?
Location. Friendliness of staff. Concierage service. Ceiling low. Breakfast a bit expensive.
Location for theatre, shops and what we required was spot on. The bar and lounge area were very acceptable with the breakfast at that staff excellent Service for light refreshments, post theatre/late evening . Hassle when booking in for breakfasst
Location was perfect Inconsistency and knowledge of staff were problems.I Have a serious complaint about the hotel.I Never received a receipt. As such I never was able to receive a deailed bill.it is all very well for booking.com to contact the hotel..HOW ??? what address???
Very central, have all the facilities. Seemed very quiet, no atmosphere in the hotel.
Location for shopping in Oxford St. Overpriced mini bar
Ease and efficiency
The location is superb and reception staff was friendly and helpful.
I liked it very much and the brekfast was very good no I dont think so
Excellent location - close to Oxford Street and Marble Arch. Rooms and ensuite are a generous size. Very comfortable lounge and dining areas.
location to oxford street and central london rooms way too small
The operating fireplace gives a warm aspect to the lobby. The fact that they charged us £3 each for three calls to an 0800 number, total £9.00. This conflicts totally with the free WIFI offer and while £1 might be acceptable for a connection £3 is exorbitant. It's only a small thing but it is very annoying.
Situated in the middle of London, yet absolutely quiet. Excellent service and facilities. Just a small detail: We didn't get the TV in our bathroom to work.
The proximity to Oxford Street and the West End The room and bed where surprisingly small for 2 grown ups with luggage. We didnt really have any space for our luggage or what we shopped. Needed to place shoes in bathroom.
Interior design, modern, location My double room was a bit tight
Althoug the room size was a bit small, it has modern accommodation, functional, clean and the hotel is very well located, close to the Marble Arch. The bathroom is high standard with TV set, large bath tube and other minor things. The room location in the basement for long stay is a bit depressing. I was not expecting this when booked a "superior double room." Moreover, as a Brazilian visitor, I suggest that the available Brazilian TV channel should be changed for a better standard because the one available was a network of an evangelical church of low ratings and deplorable programming. It could be replaced for a GloboNews, BandNews or, at worst, a Globo TV broadcast.
I was due to meet my mother at the hotel, she arrived 30 minutes before me and was made to pay the full amount for the stay, even though she repeatedly informed them I was paying and they had my card details. After locating my room i was in a state of shock as to its cramped size and airless atmosphere (5* with 5* prices!). i then went back down to reception to find out the location of the pool and gym also to request a hotel information booklet and directory and a room service menu, (This never materialised durinng our stay. I was informed that the pool/spa/gym was not open yet as the hotel was still being built. Also the main restaurant was not open yet but we could eat in the bar if we wanted.
The room was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The front of house staff seemed disorganised, we checked in at 10am and left bags, got a call at 12.30pm asking when we would be arriving and had to explain had checked in and paid!!! Were advised that bags would then be in room when we returned, however, when we did get back only one of two bags was there. After calling reception eventually went down to find bag was still in the lobby not even locked away. Bar was not open due to staff being late and would have expected this to have been open all day for a 5 star hotel. Alll in all the front of house staff, with the exception of the doorman who was excellent, were definately not up to the standard of a 5 star property
Club room ,Location and the staff was wonderfull,, Nothing really ..
Excellent, friendly ervice Nothing major
Well kept and nice environment Hopeless service of refreshments in lounge, no service of wifi and utter neglect when this was brought to the attention of staff
Check in & check out is very slow. Many staff seem to be trainees. Check in is poor for a high class hotel.
The room was particularly nice, very comfortable and homely.
The location, the club lounge and the bed The room is very small for an executive room.
Cleanliness Dvd equipment in room innoperable asked to be rectified staff could not repair.
Not enough choices of restaurents for a 5 star hotel
Great location!!!! With excellent staff, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had a lovely aperitif in the terrace overlooking the park ( I guess the only one on Park Lane) followed by a fabulous dinner in bord’ eaux restaurant, the meal served was really outstanding. My husband and I were delighted and overwhelmed with the hotel staff. We recommend to everyone
walkin in the hyde park the receptionst telling me I had no booking. iI gave her my name twice.
great Christmas decorations...but too many of them. rooms are dated...particularly bathrooms.
The renovation work is fantastic and reminds me of true english culture.
staff is generally young or new (which is fine with me) but lacks some experience.
Comfort. Location. Hotel of this standard and at the rate we paid per night, very strange that there was a charge for internet??? Did not receive the newspaper a single day, although promised by Reception.
This is a stylish new property with a contemporary feel. The staff was excellent, from housekeeping, to front desk, to concierge. It is a huge advantage to have a full kitchen, especially with an extended London stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and although the lighting scheme and room controls take a bit of time to get used to, I especially liked the various 'moods' one could achieve in each of the rooms through the lighting choices. When we had guests one evening, the staff cheerfully provided additional chairs for our dining table. Although we had a studio apartment, it was one of the larger ones, and quite spacious. We were glad we discovered this property as it was perfect for our one week stay in London.
Excellent room and very nice breakfast Very expensive drinks
The open fire when we arrived in the lobby, the relaxed atmosphere, the decor which was traditional, but comfortable.
Excellent room and location None
it was perfect in disign. just when you walk in room was some noise.
relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Great central position.
exelant location, hotel staff are friendly and the room is very clean
the hotel was centrally located. Comfortable and small enough to feel cosy. Rooms were quiet with fairly good facilities. Staff were pleasant bur not friendly. Room decor was tired, curtains hanging badly, bathroom fittings, wallpaper and bedspreads dated. Bar prices were extortionate. I paid £9.95 for 24 hours wifi connection but the signal was so weak all over the hotel,I couldn't use it. When I complained, the reception staff asked me what I wanted them to do about it, rather than just automatically refunding me as a gesture of goodwill.
Near oxford street No health club
The reception area was very nice and the fascade of the hotel was lovely. My room was very small single near the lift - was clean but did not have an opportunity to avail of any other services. I had to ring looking for directions late in evening and person involved could not really help me even though I was on a street very close to the hotel
Very modern rooms deisgned to a high spec and an outstanding location close to oxford st and ideal for a city break/shiopping trip. I booked a deluxe double room only to be told upon arrival that there were no available. I was offered two singles in return which I am extremely unhappy about and made thr trip a disaster as it was a present for my partner. We had to sleep in seperate small rooms. The feedback from the hotel was 'if you are not happy we can canel the reservation'..........which is a disgrace as I couldnt cancel on the time of arrival as we had a full day planned. They also wouldnt transfer us to one of their other hotels in the area. Overall, very unhappy and would like a full refund. Aweful service from the Hotel Manager who was very unprofessional.
Location is only thing that is really good. The hotel rooms are so small and rooms at the ground floor so bad, you have feeling like all guests and receptionist are in the room with you. I couldn't sleep almost all night cause of the noise that was due to the guest coming in and out of the hotel and talking to the receptionist.
Location.Size of room.Felt safe on my own.,and well furnished bathrom lovely no lift,as a sick friend came to visit and stairs hard
The staff at reception was very helpful I could hear things in the wall and or outside. Also not sure if I got bitten by bed bugs
the high floor room was much more better, the rooms are ok. Nothing much!!!The service is horrible, though the apartments are nice. First night we were staying in the room on the first floor and it was the worst night ive ever had(there were always some dialogs at the reception and it felt like someone was actually sitting in my room and chating). The service is bad, the hotel doesn't even have a restrooms outside the suites.
The location was very good. Staff were also very helpful and friendly. The room was of an excellent standard. It was extremely disappointing to come back from out night out to find the bar closed (1:00 am). This is supposed to be a quality hotel - we have stayed at far lesser hotels where these facilities are available!
Everything (room, restaurant, bar, etc) was very clean. Staff was friendly and efficient Breakfast was excellent. with plenty of items to choose from Local market and restaurant scene was dominated by middle eastern cuisine which does not agree with my palate.
Comfortable and well located hotel Very expensive, and the rate noted on Booking.com did not include vat, which is generally unusual (but not for London, so beware).
The location of the hotel is great. It is close to two underground stations (Marble Arch and Edgware Road). However, i think that the rate of the hotel is quite expensive.
near to the arabic shop very high rate
Confortable room and use of pool Didn't like the fact that even if you touched the fridge slightly you were charged for apparently drinking and eating the contents - had nothing to pay on credit card but still had to join a long queue whilst checking out as the bill put under my door was for £45 for drinks Id apparently had, so had to go to reception to get the bill sorted! It's a stupid process - you should only charge if drinks/food is consumed not if you open a door to a fridge- Ive never come across this before. When we were lining up at reception we were approached by a customer services representative of the hotel who asked whether we had any complaints. When I said yes, he immediately said to us would your complaint be about the fridge!!!!
location high price
The location is good for leisure. The service isnt very good and the rooms are a bit too dark. And the passage to the rooms smells and looks like a hospital.
We arrived earlier and didnt have any problem check in; the staff was lovely and very attentive. The bedroom was supper confortable and very clean( and I'm very fussy). When we asked what time the bar & restaurant close; the answer was "till the last customer"; just what you like to hear when spending a weekend in london. The instructions to get there are terrible, dont take the tube because the hotel its not located on the main street. Get a taxi; much easier.Very easy to walk to Oxford street and tube stations. The concierge service was great sorting out tickets for the Lion King saturday night show.We have our 10 y old boy with us and he loved all ; taxi at the hotel door at any time. The food was also great( I'm a chef). Will be back for sure
the room was clean and tidy and it was quite. there was never anyone at the bar when needed,
It is a familial hotel , with a good service and very kind stuff, it is in a perfect location, two minutes walk from oxford street. The rooms are too small and the area is noisy.
convenience and friendly helpful staff noisy air conditioning which was not even effective - may have just been our room which was in basement
It was a nice quite room. The hotel was perfect for Oxford Street and very close to the tube station. Even though we were told there may be noise due to refurbishment, we heard nothing.
i liked the fact that it was well located in the shopping district and a minutes walk from the tube station. i feel they should have informed us that the hotel was going to be under renovation as the exterior was a mess and the noise of drilling and hammering was very troublesome.
Convenient Location. Good friendly staffs
Reception had my booking docs ready when i arrived
Refurbished but I didn't like the stairs to negotiate. Problem with the wireless area as well.
It is in a good location in Mayfair, near the Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park. Decent continental breakfast was included. The hotel has a good staff, and is in good repair.
location too small room for 3 persons
lifts a problem
prestige, superb service and location liked it all
Excellent food, excellent concierge, excellent beds and pillows, excellently placed for west end. Receptionists were 'indifferent', very young waiting on staff who lacked the ability to make you feel welcome and special which is important when you are spending a lot of money and want to come away thinking you can't wait to get back. The 12.5% service charge on everything!
Excellent reception and concierge ,nice ope Lobby ,attractive Bar and Great bed Wifi internet the slowest I have ever encountered at hotel of this class
Big rooms, polite staff, excellent location, willing to offer additional services (i.e. storage of lugages) without extra charge. There was nothing I didn't like.
Expensive car park
near to every where ... and thing when they cleaning took glasses and not bring them back
Location, hotel staff and facilities. Room could be a little bit bigger (given the price).
Hotel and staff were great The problem was with Active Hotels as the Hyatt had received no notice of our booking and so we were lucky to be able to get in. The Hyatt staff were great. If we use Active again we will personally check whether our booking has been made.
Room was lovely but bathroom crazily small
I know the hotel well and stay there in business. I like to location, size and hospitality No
I liked the beds very comfortable and the layout of room was lovely
Great location, just a few steps away from Oxford Street and Marble Arch station. Reception staff always ready to help. Will be back
i liked the staff and their hospitality .The location was graet to those who want to shop from oxford street . the rooms are small and the the have only one left and it is too slow
location is wonderful. staff is extremely helpful and the service they provide is truly excellent. the room was rennovated and comfortable.
Great location, newly renovated, nice design, clean and confortable some rooms are very small, breakfast room can be overcrowded, only one elevator that takes too much time, depending on the days of the week, some room prices may be very high
the quality of the Hotel in service, comfortable, and security.
The room was unacceptable small and had it not been because of the special rate I would never have moved to another hotel. Also the room was extremely hot about 30C and impossible to get a proper nights rest
I was booked into a single room which met my needs but the room heating did not work - the staff were very quick to move me to another room - excellent service and greatly appreciated after a long day and late flight.
It takes a while to accept the ambiance of the hotel, but after you reach that point the hotel is great. nope great hotel great people.
location room size and style
no free break fast , no free internet
lack of paytv. room was very noisey. access to the room was via a ridiculous underground tunnel! no access to the gym as the key wasnt working ......the list of small issues is ridiculous for a hotel of this reputation.
perfect location but that's all
room was very nice , my flight was cancelled on sunday and the man at the con desk went out of his way to help me and i got another flight , sorry i didnt get his name so you could thank him for me . will be back alan went over to the 02 for tennis ,travelled alone as my wife had died last year and i tought the break would do me good and it did
The staff and service was excellent, and Rhodes W1 was fantastic.
Rooms were too hot. Breakfast too expensive
all facilities+Size of rooms delay of room services breakfast should be included
The receptionists were so helpful i didn't like the size of the rooms, the singe deluxe and the double too there were too small.
The tea and coffee facilities were good. The location was excellent for shopping in the city. The room door didn't lock properly and was hanging off the wall.In addition the hotel was having a refit of carpets so we had to use the lift at all times as the stairs were out of use.
Reception staff excellent. Window in my room was jammed open and when I asked for this to be attended to, this was immediately dealt with. I would prefer the option of a better quality cooked breakfast and would expect to pay more than £4 for it
We liked very much the ambient, the staff very nice, kind and helpul. The zone very good, but especially the people overthere. I liked the place and I will return even it is a small hotel
Location If you think that you stayed at the worst hotel, you have not been in Rose Court Hotel yet
the reason I stayed at the Rose Court was it's proximity to Oxford Street which was very convenient. I expected it to be a bit shabby, which it was but it was also clean, particularly the linen & towels
Location Desperatly in need of refurbishment last room decor probably in the region of 15yrs+ ago.
d location was d best ting i can say, u get wat u pay for n all dat, wud stay again as didnt spend anytime in the room jst somewhere to sleep everything is in need of either a repaint or refit, brown bathroom suite, no kettle of a cuppa in d room, kill urself when getting out of shower, place is jst falling apart, n as for breakfast its based on eggs either fired poached scrambled etc, n dats nt included, wat is is toast n tea , but as already said wud book again had such a laugh out of d place
the location was excellent
too much noise from others rooms.....
Only neer from Oxford street Very small rooms - Receiving the guest very bad
the hotel is near to the centre of London The staff
The location, comfortable beds, nice ensuite shower. Room 22 was good, a friend was on the third floor and there it was quite hot. The breakfast, but I didn´t mind just went out and bought my own.
Location is excellence !! The bathroom is too small.
Friendly staff, breakfast basket is a really good alternative for a buffet breakfast. Noise from the hall, including front door buzzer, was clearly heard to the room. However, virtually no sounds from other rooms could be heard.
Location is excellent for shopping. Cleanliness of room, comfortable bed. Small rooms but cosy. Clean towels every day. Internet not free as advertised, only a few unsecured sites. But still cheaper than many I have stayed in. Internet not working most of the time. My room had problems with little hot water and water pressure. I was given another room for the remaining of my stay. Excellent water there.
near the tube
