quiet yet central location
Attractive building, nicely decorated, very friendly helpful staff Room smelled of damp and slightly of drains
the room was without window
Charming ambience to the hotel. Good breakfast. Neither of our bedside lights worked. We reported this twice but nothing was done. The ill conceived layout of the room with a feature bath along one wall, meant the TV was alongside the bed and you had to crane your neck to view.
The room was great, the building interesting and the position close to all the old parts of town was great. The jacuzzi on the roof terrace overlooking the cathedral was a real treat. Not enough loo roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Freindly helpful staff. Good location. Near restaurants. In the old centre. There were no windows in the bedroom.
A pleasant, friendly, clean hotel. In a good location. Breakfast was not on the roof terrace & the jacuzzi also on the roof was not open. This was what initially drew me to the hotel, so was a little disappointing. Noise in the hotel corridors & stairs seemed to echo around all the rooms.
The relaxed atmosphere, wonderful building, very helpful, polite staff -welcoming and it was a treat to hae someone able to speak our language. We took our dog who loved it and was made very welcome! Breakfast was very good value and we loved the jacuzzi on he roof!
Location Dirty - Cold - No restaurant facilities
Would class it as a two star. Roof terrace out of use.
Right in city centre with parking, although you could park on the street around the hotels if you can find a street. Street signs very hard to find. Aim for Correos, (post office) and the you will pick up the yellow Hotel signs. small room, big bathroom. Staff do not speak English, but very pleasant.
It's quite location and helpful staff
Friendly informative staff. Excellenent location, central but quiet. Have already recommended it!!
nothing Uncomfortable hotel, cold design of numbers,
Location Shutters over window, no view, noisy
Service, clean, close to the center, shopping areas and points of interest.Would visit it again
excellent location well signposted so easy to find. Staff very helpful. Good location to access sites of interest. Very good hotel at very reasonable rates. Very clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful. Good reasonably priced carpark.
Very friendly and helpful rception staff. Great location, off main road and within easy walking distance of old town. Very clean with good bathroom.
close to the main tourist attractions, good price, friendly staff, good parking facility room was a bit small, but it was OK for a one night stand.
Friendly helpful staff everywhere no, all great
Very friendly staff who were all helpful and keen to make our stay in Jerez enjoyable. Great location for the equestrian school.
A quiet haven in the heart of the city Internet connection via modem
It was just a pleasure to stay at the Villa Jerez. We all would have liked to stay longer.
Ideally suited for a quite holiday.I was impressed with the staff, cleanliness of hotel , and the lovely pool that was kept at the right temperature. The lovely gardens and patio were perfect for relaxing. The choice of TV channels in bedrooms and the old fashioned TV set. I would also not recommend half board due to the lack of dinner choices.
Great facilities. Friendly helpful staff (especially the managers!) Fantastic gardens, cosy rooms. There was nothing about this hotel that we did not like.
This place was pretty much perfect - the staff were really lovely, and made us feel incredibly welcome. The pool was great, and the room beautiful, with everything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay. The town, which was a short walk away, was delightful.
A five star hotel like this on at the price . We had a lovely, large suite overlooking the pooll. The restaurant was disappointing
Mature Gardens Friendly helpful staff Cleanliness Quality of Food Tranquility no
Bedrooms were excellent and concierge was most helpful.
it was quite near to the centre the beds were really bad,the hotel staff was not helpful at all, the room was smelling smoke.
Service first class I rang the hotel to ask to ask a few questions One was the price of the breakfasts. They told me 10 euros, the same as your conformation sheet. But they charged 14 euros each.
A very good hotel with excellent facilities for the summer months. Good breakfast and we enjoyed a meal in the hotel's restaurant, which we found good value for money The beds are hard and we really needed more pillows.
We liked the location very much, only 15 minutes from jerez centre. Our accomodation was reasonable standard, but we did suffer a little from traffic noise at night. We found the breakfast to be very good, plenty of choise, and very well run Our room was a reasonable standard, but the beds were as hard as park benches, so I would suggest 2 days max for a visit
Stayed in Sherry Park as we only paid 65 Euro (parking included). At this rate good value for money. Very quiet at night. Nice pool. A bit far away from city center (15 minute walk). Insufficient parking space arriving late at night. At some moments not enough pool seats (though this is not a disaster with the pool as alternative).
Nice hotell + breakfast to good price The poolarea open first at 12.00
room and service - very nice, the receptionist was very helpful; I had to move my booking because of a cancelled flight - no problem with that (even though they charged more for the new date)
very convenient with a car, free parking, everything workes out very smothly. Excellent breakfast, good location, also very nice with an indoor pool free of charge. The room we had was very stuffy, almost as it had to little air.
loved this hotel, so quiet, near the town center, loved the shower. pool didn,t open till 12 midday, i would of liked a morning swim. checkout sometimes had long queues. whoever fitted the wall mounted toilets fitted them to high, not comfortable for small adults to sit on. i hate putting down petty things but like this, but it might make this very nice hotel into a great hotel with a few little changes
Hotel location close to town centre Free parking Free Wifi None
Everything was fantastic! The hotel had wonderful, attentive, caring staff. The decor was so beautiful and classy but very fun that I wish I could live there! Every detail was taken care of before we even arrived and not one member of the staff treated us inappropriately because we were not dressed nicely and we are young. I definitely will return to Hotel Palacio Garvey as soon as possible!
beautifully restored hotel with very modern features - ideally situated for shopping and bars and restaurants. Thoroughly recommended.
The general look of the place - spacious and elegant. The restaurant offred good value. In clined to be designer-conscious at the expense of untiity - e.g. bedside lamps looked good but were not efficient for reading in bed.
The room was excellent. The hotel overall was first class and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly
Although it was difficult to find, the location was fantastic and well worth the search.,The hotel and staff where absolutely excellent. The on-site parking was a godsend after the traffic nightmare that is Jerez!
A beautiful hotel in an ideal location. A spacious foyer with interesting art work. The staff were excellent - they could not have provided a better service. The hotel has a luxurious quality but our room was reached by a back stair case where linen and spare beds were stacked and so this contrasted greatly with the feel of the rest of the hotel. This was disappointing. The room was also quite dark.
Clean clear room & bathroom. Nice breakfast area. Good carpark. Available internet free. All staff helpful. On entering the city by car for first time no post signs showing location of hotel. When very near the hotel street address the hotel sign is not clear.
very central, spacious, helpful staff, very good price - instead of 1 night booked we stayed 5!
good location close to shops bars and restaurants very nice room air con was very effective outside 35 degrees inside room < 20 degrees no
Excellent central location, spacious room and bathroom. Good breakfast, clean rooms and reception area. Helpful staff. The shower could have been better - not powerful enough.
The overall quality of the hotel : the cleanliness/standard of accommodation/excellent breakfast/very helpful staff. The bedroom was very hot and it wasn't obvious how to regulate the temperature. Would be useful to have some simple operating instructions in each bedroom.
value for money on drinks at the bar. breakfast hot buffet was poor.
Allow dogs Allow dogs, but charge extra. You cannot leave it alone in the room, which means you cannot eat in the restaurant. I missed a place to sit.It was no sofa, only one wooden chair for 2 persons.
The staff was friendly and spoke very good english. The breakfast was nice and was a mix of European and American style. The rooftop bar was not open and the bar downstairs was very cramp. Being the month of June the sun stays out until 10pm the rooftop should be open to enjoy the view of Jerez.
Good clean room with satisfactory breakfast We were the only people in the dining room for dinner and the menu advertised at reception was not available. We wished we had gone out for dinner.
It was resonably priced. The parking situation was not ideal.
inexpensive, centric location on the day i checked out, i needed to leave my baggage at the reception during the afternoon because i had an evening flight, and i felt ucomfortable because they seemed to be right by the entry and unattended while I was out... i would feel a lot safer if they had a room where they stored them and gave tickets or something so each one can claim their own luggage
very central near theatre individual rooms were interior, no window, moved to a double
There was nothing I experienced I can say I liked about this hotel. It was a great disappointment. I booked 4 months in advance for 3 nights asking for a room with balcony. What I got was a room on ground floor. It was dark, damp and cold with a window at street level. No privacy as people in the street could look into the room. The street was narrow with lot of traffic making terrible noise over the cobble stone pavement day and night. The aircon was inefficient and the room stayed cold and damp. The 2 star rating may apply to rooms on upper level with external windows. It does not apply to rooms on ground floor and internal rooms. Breaakfast was very basic and staff not responsive. To avoid similar disaappointment to mine make sure you will get upper floor room with external window. Otherwise consider staying somewhere else.
The location and price were really good. The room and bathroom were nice. It is a good place to stay, as long as you are looking for a simple place to stay. There was TV in the room, but it did not work.
location, friendliness of staff
Location was very good. Parking is a nightmare. It's a one-way street and very difficult to get back to. The hotel garage door wouldn't open; very awkward. Breakfast could be better -- maybe even more than one cup of tea/coffee. But that seems par for Spanish 2-star. The owner did try to help whenever possible. Spoken English is limited.
Looks like they have only 2 starts. Too noisy
Superb location, but not the easiest to find. Parking 600 m from the hotel.very servicminded personell, simple continental breakfast, preumably better in the restaurant, but OK,Clean. Good value
good contintental breakfast. Good location to town
Its location. Its ability to offer single rooms. Clean bed. Good value. Breakfast included. The floors were not swept during the time I stayed at the hotel.
Clean, high standard hotel, excellent value for money None
The hotel was impressive in every respect, but most noteworthy was the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff we encountered.
Good location, excellent room and bathroom facilities.
Convenience of loc\tion to taxis/busses and old town We were recommended to a restaurant that wes terrible
staff were helpfull Good location no
We chose Tryp Jerez hotel mainly for the excellent location. The hotel is pleasantly decorated throughout. The room was very clean and we enjoyed the Loreal sample products in the bathroom. I feel there could have been a porter on hand to help carry luggage to the room. The bar shut quite early in the evening, as many hotels have a residents bar open until at least midnight.
good location, helpful staff, good breakfast but not cheap
Spacious and nice room. Good facilities None.
The ambience, food, comfort, location, facilities and the staff were particularly friendly and helpful. No
It had secure parking and it was centrally located. Buffet breakfast was great.
Location, access and press It has the smallest garage in the world! And the room is small too.
Room spacious and clean, staff speaking English (wow!), close to town centre (10 minutes walking distance). Accessible by car. Car park is a challenging place. Make sure you have good brakes and you like to manouvre. It would be great if there was free WIFI in the hotel room.
new modern design, view onto park, helpful reception
I stayed at the NH Avenida Jerez for three nights in December 2009 and overall it was a pleasant experience. The rooms were nicely decorated and were very clean and comfortable. Most of the staff were helpful and pleasant despite the language barrier and the location is good if you are planning a sightseeing trip of the city or are visiting the Circuito de Jerez, which is a 15 minute taxi ride away costing approximately €14. Although the room I stayed in was pleasant, the noise from the main road that runs along the front of the hotel can be excessive at times. It can be quite difficult to find somewhere to eat in the evening, especially if you don't speak much Spanish. The breakfast was okay, however, I wouldn't recommend using the hotel restaurant for dinner, as the waiter is quite rude and gets very frustrated and impatient with guests, making your meal very uncomfortable. I thought the food was okay, although my friend wasn't too impressed with the meal she selected so the quality could vary.
good room air condition'ed breakfast was poor
The closeness to Jerez Centre
the staff is very kind, the room was ok no safety box in the room, the wc flusher was broken, one of the phones in the room out of order
Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was good located, nearby the center of Jerez (10 min walking) The parking of the hotel was very little, but you could left your car on the street (no parking fee)If you go to Jerez in the summer, then you will really miss a swimming pool!
Very close to city center. Confort. Low noise. Bad view from the window. Park a little bit expansive (12 euro\day)
The hotel is nice and clean and offers excellent value for money
Comfortable enough. Great value... the hotel is perfectly located near the city center.
It was well located in the center, and cheap I didn't like the old furniture and beds, and that the walls were so thin that you could hear everything as if sleeping in the same room...
Situation good No cleaning during the 6-day long stay same towels and no one took the mobs away
That we only had to sleep there The fact that we had to carry our bags up four flights of stairs
This is a converted Andalusian old-style house - this was a plus as it was characteristic. There is the use of a fridge behind reception and wifi access Lack of air con in the height of summer made it difficult to sleep (there are fans in the rooms). There is air con in the corridor but the owner used it sparingly. Salaried staff were friendly and helpful but the actual owner was quite the opposite. I would recommend for budget travellers/backpackers
Nothing, it should not be on your (or anybody else's) list until the quality of service improves. Atmosphere was uncaring, almost hostile, Room unhygienic, with foul-smelling water seeping up through the tiles in the middle of the night. Broken sewage pipe? I don't know, but lost no time in checking out next morning. Yuk!
The price. friendly staff. typical andalucian patio. very close to the historic centre. car park just round the corner. The room was basic (no decoration, a sink, a wardrobe) - shared bathroom with another 3 or 4 rooms in the corridor...
Bathroom in my room, good for the price.
Friendly and helpful staff, speak english, good location, we didnt expect much to see in Jerez, but in fact it is a charming town with its atmoshpere, recommend to visit although it looked clean, friends had ants in bed during the night
Quiet hotel in good central location with helpful staff & reasonable facilities No
Cannot say how pleased i was staying at this hotel! This is the third year in a row i have visited Jerez and by far the the most warm and friendly place i have stayed. The staff make you feel very welcome.
Quiet and therefore able to sleep soundly - room was off courtyard and away from the main street outside the hotel. Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Room was very clean but decor was tired, some patches of paint peeling off wall.
Nothing Having just stayed in a very nice and reasonably priced three star hotel in the centre of Seville our hearts sank when we entered the El Andaluz Jerez. Our room was small, dark, practically unfurnished and the bathroom tiny. Both smelled nasty. There was the barest minimum of soap and shampoo provided by the hotel in the bathroom. The bed was hard and the pillow relentlessly uncomfortable. We had to ask for towels because there were none in our room. We had to ask how to turn on the electricity in our room because no one showed us. The room was dark and hot and the air conditioning worked only intermittently. The "free WIFI connection" didn't work. We decided to cut our losses and left very early next morning.
Very pretty and in a good position. Clean and silent. The position on googlempas from booking.com is wrong, the sign is invisible and makes hotel very difficult to see. The lock of the room was impossible to open and the door of the bathroom didn’t close. The tv didn’t function. The two men at the reception speaks only Spanish.
Very convenient for shops, trains, buses. Friendly staff.
It was located close to the center of town The hotel was old and I feel overpriced. I found a pension around the corner that would have been a better value.
The hotel is very basic, but is in a good location. . The staff do not speak much english, the room we had was on the ground floor on a main road so it was very noisy. The curtain pole fell down in the middle of the night and their was a very bad smell from the bathroom. The toilet roll and towel holder was faulty it kept breaking. There was paint flaking off the walls. This hotel could be impoved so much by fixing these problems
Clean, friendly staff, central location, excellent value. None
Near to Airport Difficult to find a better map or directs would help.
staff were helpfull hotel is in a good location excellent value
Disappointing. A nice building but clearly needs to be upgraded. A basic hotel with a lot of future potential. Maybe I'm being too harsh. Had no problems on my stay. The door to roof area did not have a proper working lock, so it banged all night until I wedged it closed with a broom handle
Clean, reasonably comfortable hotel for the price, especially with a/c. Good for those on a budget or who want to spend their money on other things when visiting a city. Close to centre and amenities. Very good value breakfast at bar next door and staff speak English and are helpful.
Found a member of staff in our room who appeared to be up to no good.He said we had left the room unlocked but that was not the case. We caught him by surprise when we tried to open the door with the key ,found the door unlocked and the man surpised that we had returned to the room.
Very clean, one room booked, lights did not work and no plug for lap top. Alot of stairs and no lift for access for handycapped people, bar where you could have breakfast not very good.rather dreary.
Nice, friendly staff, very clean and tidy rooms and hotel. a bit far from things and a little difficult to find at night
The Hotel is very convenient for Jerez and Cadiz. The pool is excellent. The staff are excellent. We thoroughly recommend it.
Convenient for exploring Jerez/Cadiz but must have a car. Staff were very helpful. No facilities nearby
Beatiful modern hotel with clean nice rooms in tranquil rural settings. Free parking just outside the hotel. Friendly and professional staff.
Hotel was spotless. Staff efficient. Friendly staff in Cafe. Away from center of Jerez (which was what we wanted, do not go here if you need Jerez as roads can be very confusing and you could end up travelling 27km before being able to turn around!) Directly opposite the Jerez race circuit, go to front and ask to look around, the Spanish are very obliging. Bonus is you can park free at hotel, hotels in Jerez charge for parking. Jerez itself if a wonderful place to visit (but you WILL need a car to travel there from this hotel), make sure you see the old town though with its little plaza's as the newer part is more modern. Take a trip around a bodega, Tio pepe is recommended, great fun! Booking.com booked a twin room with the hotel when we actually booked a double, so double check what you are getting before you go! Dissappointing for us, but like i say it was booking, com's fault. No tea and coffee making facilities in room, not good enough if you arrive late as the hotel cafe and restaurant will be closed. Don't go if you think you can walk into Jerez as you can't unless you are really fit!
Very helpfull, friendly staff. A relaxing place to stay. Charging for Wifi/Wireless. If you do not have a car, no transport, taxis a rip off (30 Eueros for a ten minute trip). The website states "on the outskirts of Jerez", this is slightly misleading. The hotel is pretty remote, it is impossible to even take a short walk after a meal.
A nicely appointed hotel just off the beaten track but very close to Jerez Airport. Adjoining is a very nice restaurant. No
A lovely hotel very close to the circuit
Vey nice, quite countryside place, very good dinner
The accessiblity to the grand prix circuit mainly, but generally a good location close to the city
Well, the price was right, and they had last-minute availability. The staff was friendly and helpful. The air conditioner barely worked. They claimed to be a 20 minute walk downtown, which was sort of true, but it was 20 minutes to the outskirts of town through a fairly seedy area.
Bit tired but wonderful pool and outside facilities. The it manager was superb. The room service crew were trying very hard but not client focused. Overall we would go back but would check out other options first. Room service was a bit erratic and kept trying to get us to take the buffet and even denied us more room service breakfast cards! It was a real fight to get them to give us a card so we could order in the room. And then they lost it! And braekfast did not arrive. Phew! Spoiled it a bit!
the room was very clean and the beds very comfortable. staff at main desk very helpful bar resturant was not very welcoming
Friendly Staff, Excellent Pool area
breakfast. small rooms.
The beds! They were the most comfortable we've slept during our (extensive) European holiday. Apart from a bit of a glitch the first night, the internet worked well in our room. We had none of the noise issues other reviewers experienced, but then the pool was round the other side of the hotel fromo our room. The room was very smart & comfortable. The beds! They were too comfortable - we couldn't get out of them! (Only joking). Tv channels have heavy Teutonic bias!!! There were 11 or so German channels and only 2 in English - both news based. a bit more entertainment in English would be good. The hotel is a bit of a hike out of the main town. We walked it in about 20 mins. a bit too far from the town to sneak back for a siesta after lunch.
Fine hotel with very good swimming pool.
Facilities and cleanliness Food was not brilliant
nice garden and outdoor pool. in walking distance to city centre (15-20 min walk). Breakfast is very good (for spnish breakfast), coffee is freshly brewed by the cup from real coffe beans (no instant-coffee!). Scrambled eggs were cooked with olive oil, but tated very good. rooms are small, and those facing to the inside yard of the hotel have no nice views at all. Outfacing rooms (towards the garden) are better.
Comfortable, roomy. Faded glory: The place has seen better days although it is still adequate and worth the price.
Good room, great breakfast, free parking about 20 minutes walk from the centre so may be a problem foe older guests who want to visit the city, But an easy walk in, on the flat.
Friendly welcome. A comfortable bed. Parking in the hotel, although at a cost. Good information in room. Helpful staff. Good breakfast facilities.
Fantastic views on the pitch of Xerez Football Club, very comfortable, friendly and helpful staff It's a bit out of the centre, but worth the detour
Uber-chic room but......... .....the frosted glass door to the bathroom attenuates virtually no sound. Kinky!
Good clean modern accommodation and bathroom. Edge of town location. Buffet breakfast very high price. WiFi only in reception.
Very modern hotel with nice facilities. The AC in the room did not work and it was very hot and difficult to sleep.
Minibar was free! hard to find in Jerez, it is a mess trying to drive and find directions
Great to see into the Stadium. That's a different kind of hotel stay. Very good breakfast (compared to what you get in a smaller hotel), Spanish. 24h reception and not far away from the airport. Staff not very fluent in foreign languages; sometimes hard to communicate with. Location not ideal if you do not have a car. The taxi ride to the city center was just 5€, though.
Limited food choice on Saturday evening.
