excellent location, good room
the best part of the hotel is the location and its good breakfast When i arrived at night on a prepaid reservation the reception staff tried to send me to another hotel nearby claiming the room had suffered damage and was unavailable. After a full day of travelling and not having received an advance notice of the "event" I suspected this was a trick used by an overçbooked hotel. I demanded to see the damages and this the supposed manager was unable to show me, so after a little voice raisingf on my part all of the sudden the room became available. I left that the hotel reception made to lie to me their paying customer . Two more managers emerged and during my short saty the hotel personel made me feel as if they had made me and my wife a favor by letting us stay in the hotel for which I had PREPAID my stay. I can only imagine if my reservation was not prepaid I would have been in the street looking for a hotel room
Location, staff and cleanliness No
The location is ideal for a trip to Paris. Plenty of restaurants, cafes. public transportation. The bed was very comfortable. Like most hotels in France (and Europe) this so-called "Superior" room was tiny.
Sympathetic environment. Very good location Too expensive for what it is. There was no hot water in our room (room 406) and the concierge did nothing about it. We had to leave the next morning. Not a good experience. The room was very small and the price was huge. 570 euros, plus breakfast 50 euros for two......May I ask why?
My wife and I were impressed with the hotel from the minute we walked into the lobby. The receptionist and bell hop could not have been more hospitable. The decor was elegant, and the spa and work out facilities were state of the art. In addition to this, the nearness to the Boulevard St. Germaine de Pres, boutiques, and cafes was excellent.
Location is very good
romantic room was very small for the amount paid.
Location, Location, Location!!! Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a fabulous area and you can walk to many interesting sites and shops. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe and welcome at the hotel and in the area. The room I was assigned had a view of a generator that was a bit noisy in the early morning hours. Beware of Room 106 travelers!! Other than that everything was great!!
I had serious problems in the hotel with payment by credit cards. For sure tecnical devices on the reception must to be checked. It was really very unpleased to be learned that you can't pay by your credit card then you know that there are enough money on this card...
Staff, decor, location size of bathroom - very small
The hotel was very clean. The room was very quiet aNd of a reasonable size. The staff were xtremely friendly and helpful. a perfect stay!
Very friendly and helpful staff.
nice quiet area dining area very noisy at breakfast time due to staff clearing and washing dishes. Mould on bathroom ceiling
Lovely staff narrow steps to the top floor
The location is great, surrounded by historic cafés, galleries, restaurants and shops. Subway very close too. Service was very efficient noise isolation
The hotel was clean and the staff helpful. The beds were comfortable and the location was outstanding. The rooms were billed as air conditioned, but the weather was nice so we didn't get to test the A/C. The lighting over was bathroom sink was very weak. I practically had to kiss the mirror in order to adequately light my face to shave. The beds made a crunchy sound when we moved around, but it wasn't a major problem. There was mold on the shower ceiling a base.
very good value for the location. very nice staff.
The location was excellent lack of a proper shower
Friendly efficient staff. Lovely room. Very central
The location, and price given the location. Helpful staff. Paris is expensive, and the 6th is particularly expensive. I prefer to stay in other parts of the city, but had no choice on this trip, so it felt like I was overpaying, but I know I wasn't given what my friends were paying nearby.
The staff was so friendly & helpful. The location was perfect for our first time in Paris, & the included breakfast was a wonderful perk!
Hotel is very cozy, staff was great and location even better.
1) hotel: Position & Charme of the decoration 2) room: Cleanliness & very good bathrooms 1) there is no hotel manager available during evening & night - only an employee with no authority to do anything, which does not seem in line with the standard of a good 3 star/BW Premier hotel 2) Rooms are not sufficiently sound-proof, specially the ground floor one, where discussions between personnel in the morning woke me up earlier
room size and staff the breakfast was rather poor. there was no information that it was being renovated (painting).
The helpful and friendly staff, unique and attractive character of the rooms, and the excellent location made this a truely relaxing and memorable short break
it is very quiet even though in a very busy aera many stains on the carpet. rough bed.
location and cosy rooms
The staff were very friendly and accommodating during our stay. We had a young child with us and used the babysitting service which was excellent.
really nice people, going the extra mile to help their guests. Fantastic location. room was really tiny, the bath was the width of my hips! (I am not overweight)
The location of this hotel was ideal; it had a great atmosphere and was full of cafes and restaurants frequented by locals and tourists alike as well as interesting shops. All the hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Nothing
Very friendly and efficient staff.
location and size
The situation of the hotel is excellent and the cleaness and confort of the rooms as well.
Good position They charged us 40 euro because we left some stains on the bedsheets...the owner was very rude with us in complaining.
position was excellent. staff very helpful, very clean, good breakfast twin room was small, better for a single, 2 females together needed more mirrors
Good, central location in the 6th arrondissement Small room, no mirrors apart from the one in the bathroom (very unconvenient for 2 ladies...) Our room was located in the 4th floor streetside, which was a bit noicy during the night (rugby tournament was going on). Considering the size and location of the room, it was not worth the money.
Location and friendly staff The hotel itself was a little bit tired, rooms were quite small and the bath was the size of a shower tray, Although the location was excellent there was lots of noise from traffic and people.
Great price and location, very professional and friendly staff. Three stars, but 4 star quality - compared to similar properties that I have stayed at in the neighborhood.
Location Old carpet in the room. Size of room.
concierge Kristoff is great
Excellent location, exceptionally friendly staff, good sized rooms for a Parisian hotel. The hotel appears to fairly new and modern and importantly, clean. Nothing at all.
Lovely room. Excellent location. Concierge was extremely helpful in booking restaurants etc. Staff also very friendly and helpful.
The hotel location is good right in the hearth of St Germain .Shops, restaurants and bars aplenty nearby.Very buzzy and lively area. The hotel lobby is smart and tidy but the rooms are small and cleanliness is substandard.Tired furniture and dirty walls . Broken fixtures and plenty of dust in places.
Hotel staff were very kind and supportive.
Sanjay was an exceptional manager/ concierge! The location was superb. The size of room was small, but Paris is renowned for this.
Love the location. Hotel and facilities great. Staff very friendly.Have stayed in a number of hotels around the St Germain area over the years, and the first time at this particular hotel. We weren't disappointed at all. Definately would recommend.
This is a very nice little hotel in the St. Germaine area. The location is excellent, very close to the St. Germanine metro station and surrounded by very quaint restaurants and shops. The room was comfortable when compared to other spaces I have stayed in Paris and the staff, especially Sanjay, was very helpful. I would stay here again, definitely. N/A
excellent staff... very friendly + helpful. great location on left bank. clean, modern decor. nice lobby with bar for meeting clients, friends etc. free internet and convenient reading lamps above bed. rooms small.
I like the location and the lobby lounge atmosphere I think the rate for my standard doublr room is a bit high and particularly the room decor is so out dated.
great location, very nice clean comfortable rooms, free wifi, nice breakfast. no complains
Excellent hotel at a charming place. Although in the Latin Quarter, still in a peaceful street. Walking distance to many places. Very nice decoration, very helpful staff. Our room was spacious given Paris standards. Definitely would stay again. The bed was soft and noisy.
Excellent location, very clean, friendly and helpful staff
Superb location and wonderful experienced staff who know how to look after their customers well. A fantastic experience and well worth the cost!!
The hotel was clean, well located in a very attractive area of Paris, and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. No
The room is a little bit small for a suite.
Although the room was smallish (perhaps not by Parisian standards), it was immaculate and beautifully maintained. The staff were unfailingly helpful and polite. The public areas on the ground floor were accessible and tastefully decorated and provided the full range of services one might want. And the location--I know the inner city pretty well, and better is very hard to imagine. Room service for breakfast was a little uneven; two of three mornings an item was missing from a relatively short, simple order. That said, the coffee and juice were superb.
Fantastic friendly staff and fantastic position
I liked the location and the beautiful fireplace in the lounge. We enjoyed the quietness in the bedroom. We thought the room was too small.
convenient location, confortable beds beautiful setting. rooms are a little small, but other wise confortable.
No porters in the hotel. No change for cash.
Decor was interesting Most of the staff were very good - others a bit off hand The breakfast did not vary
Very confortable and very good location Terrible breakfast, very poor variety and they don't replace the food when it ends. for more than 3 days they run out of Orange juice more than 1 hour before the breakfast closes and they didnt put more. If we wanted eggs, omelete, expresso and etc, we would have to pay separately.
We loved the location. We loved the view of Blvd. St. Germain. We loved that our room was quiet once we shut the windows. We loved the bed and the decor of the room. We loved the free breakfast and ice machine. We loved Aziz, who booked us two great restaurants with the best tables in the place reserved for us along with him arranging for us to received free anniversary desserts. Some staff members (not Aziz but others) were not as friendly as we'd have expected. We also witnessed a hotel manager berating a breakfast worker loudly in front of all the guests. We were told they had power transformers that we could borrow from them, but the one we got did not work and that's the only one they had available. The towels were thin and cheap.
Location, breakfast and staff. Size of room
Very good location, in a good part of the city. Good, affordable restaurants nearby. Easy access to sights. Hotel was chic and cosy, clean and pleasant. Staff was so-so, although did act on complaints immediately. Rooms were small but livable.l
The staff was very friendly, excellant location, very clean and excellant breakfast.........
that i could leave no ventilation during the winter months "we turn it off"
The hotel is not only located in Saint Germain but also very close from subway station. It is easy to find the hotel when we arrive and very convenient to walk around. Bedside table was bit sticky but other than that nothing remarkable.
Thr hospitality of the staff and the quiet rooms in spite of the the very busy area!
Room is always warm, location is awesome, close to a lot of hidden gems, and subway stations. They didn't change the towel and bedsheet....it seems they just folded the towel....you need to ask for new ones.
location was central to what we wanted to do
Very charming hotel
Friendly staff , comfortable , good locality , reasonable price , excellent breakfast No bad points
tremendously helpful and pleasant front desk! not really
The location was ideal for the purpose of this Paris trip. The male evening desk clerk was most pleasant and helpful. As to the second question below, I have not read any reviews of this hotel.
Excellent friendly staff and convenient location Nothing
The location is superb; short walk to many tourist destinations and the metro lines 4 and 10 are nearby. The staff is knowledgeable, kind and efficient. Perhaps not suitable for family groups with small children because, as with many European hotels, the rooms can be a bit small and the stairwells tight. Perfect for two adults!
locatiion to metro station
Hotel staff were very kind.It is located in the center of the Saint-Germain, being bustling with activity, so it was very nice for us.The free Wi-Fi access was very smooth and useful. The breakfast was so good at that price. Merci beaucoup ! There only had to be a curtain beside a bathtub.
comfortable good position
Excelent location. Good hotel staff. Very comfortable. High hotel rates. Unnecessary (ex. minibar).
great location, comfortable room
Free wireless internet and friendly English speaking staff Nothing
courtesy of the staff
great location, comfortable hotel
The hotel was well located for my needs and the staff, in particular, one gentleman, was excellent and helpful. Not really
I like the Madison but I thought their staff was indifferent, only a couple of the front staff was nice the rest was just ...well indifferent. I hate to mentioned this but one had a really bad body odor. Common how can they allowed that, he works in the front! end of rant. The hotel was recently renovated and they did a beautiful job with the decoration. However, if it was up to me I would remove the the black chair on the corner. We couldn't sit on it because the nightstand and the desk blocked access to it. The faucet in the bathroom was annoying to use because you can only get hot water if you turn the knob on high?!?!? Sorry for being negative but I think it need to be said. I would recommend this hotel and will probably go back because I like the 6th arrondisement.
location, location, location
Due to the Euro and GBP being one for one, the hotel worked out a little expensive, but they upgraded us foc to a bigger room due to renovations being carried out, lovely hotel would stay again.
Admosfare and very sentral To that heavy price breakfast should have been included in winther-season (not may - sept.) Last week we stayed two night at Krakow main square at a 5 star Hotel incl. brekfast x 2 mornings to nearby same price
Very friendly staff, the room had a lot of character. Very nice.
Localization, charm and simpaty poor services offer
The Hotel was well located to Paris historic area. It was just a block away from the subway system allowing easy access to the city attractions and airport. Hotel front desk was cordial, but not overly freindly or helpful. Considering we could not speak the french language or familar with the area, so this lack of customer appreciation was disappointing.
The desk staff spoke English and were always friendly and helpful with our questions. A computer in the lounge was provided for hotel guests. The room was decorated very tastefully in simple French decor and was kept extremely clean. Hangars and a large closet were provided for unpacking. We enjoyed the breakfast with items such as deli meat, hard-boiled eggs, granola, yogurt, fruit, cheese, fresh bread & croissants. The location was perfect for us. We wanted to stay on the Left Bank close to a metro station. We could go anywhere easily from Odeon station. The neighborhood was lively, entertaining and charming, and we walked to many places nearby for sightseeing and dining. Our stay in Paris was fantastic! The only problem was the noise in the streets on Friday and Saturday nights. This was solved by buying earplugs at the Pharmacie.
Excellent excellent location, in a calm street. I did not try the breakfast but the area is full of nice coffes...I will definitely come back to this same hotel. NA
It was an excellent location, on a quiet side street, near Metro restaurants and shopping. It also had the most reasonable prices for minibar water, sodas and drinks that I have seen in all my travels. We actually used it!
near to st germain confortable hotel with ample room for Parisian standard smell of been smoking in my room
hotel was clean and staff helpful. Great location in left bank
The location was very good and although the room was not large it was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast was not included in the price and although it was available it was a basic buffet
The unobtrusive but very professional service. The attention to quality everywhere, and the all-round high standard of comfort in public areas. Staff were extremely helpful and did everything possible to make our stay agreable. Only we found the room somewhat cramped and the lack of a shower door but that was probably because we had one of the smallest rooms.
Location is wonderful and the staff are so helpful and professional. I recommend this hotel! Room a little small, but it was the least expensive in the hotel. The suites look fabulous!
The hotel is in a great location with lots of nearby restaurants and shops, and within walking distance to many places of interest. Even though it's in a lively area, the closeable shutters on the windows keep the room quiet. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The room was not largel, but the space was used very efficientlyand very nicely furnished, We really wanted a king size bed, but they only offered queen sized or double twin beds, which were better than a queen, but tended to separate with use. The price was kind of high.
Staff pleasant and helpful. Excellent location in Saint Germain with wonderful food shops and Sunday market. The room was tiny although I booked a double room for only one person. If my wife had been with me there would not have been room to pass each other. The internet didn't work one of the days which caused tremendous problems as I was on a business trip.
location, friendliness of staff
very pleasant...my room a bit on the small side - bathroom very nice and a very good size price a bit high - should include breakfast in the rate
The location was perfect for sightseeing/shopping/dining.
This is a very pleasant hotel. My room, although small, was very comfortable and very nicely furnished. The hotel staff were lovely people and I especially liked the fact that there was a chamber maid who came in the afternoons to turn down my bed.. There was one serious problem. There was no anti-slip material in the bath and no grab rails. This is a serious oversight. There should be grab rails at shoulder hieght and at knee height.
Excellent location and service
Nice room, good selection of TV channels, friendly staff, brilliant position No kettle in the room.
Perfect location, atmosphere of old times, beautiful interioir, tasty breakfast. Very little rooms.
complementary breakfast, delivered inroom with no charge
hotel is very central, very comfortable, ask for quiet room and you can hear a pin drop, charm, quietly chic, compared to similar hotels very reasonably priced esp. ouyt of season. can't think of anything
Rooms were unique and nicely appointed. Location was excellent. The specific room I was on, on the top floor, had a rather low ceiling in the bathroom and I am quite tall. The staff were sympathetic but didnt do anything about it....that's not service.
Charming hotel, wonderful location. I really enjoyed my stay. They need to add some electric outlets in the rooms, accessible for things like charging cell phones, blackberrys and laptop computers. I had to move furniture and unplug the only lamp at the desk in order to access the only outlet in my room.
The location was great for what and where we needed it. The rooms are typically small as in amost boutique type Parisian hotels. The carpet was old, the bed a little stiff but overall it was fine. We were there on a weekend and the foot traffic and noise outside were rather loud all night long. Not the hotels fault except it was warm in the room and we had to have the windows open. No a/c.
Friendly, helpful staff. Great location.
Private room for pure pleasure.
The hotel is in a wonderful location, within walking distance of the Louvre, Notre Dam, the Muese de Orsay, and one block from the Saint Germain Metro stop. Very nice typlical continental breakfast served in the Salon, a very comfortable and warm place to wake-up, or relax in the afternoon and read a paper.
Have stayed there several times before. It is well located for my requirements, a lovely small hotel, reliable and good value.le
The decor was lovely and the atmosphere very relaxed and quiet even though it is situated in the middle of Saint Germain with brilliant cafes, bars and shops all at your doorstep.
This is a place of high style and design, well-located and a high level of customer service and reception. Jean Yves at reception went the extra mile to reserve and change dinner reservations for us and even help with bus routes. Shower/baths are great, but can difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Standard rooms at the back are quite small and accessible only by stairs from ground level to first floor. There is a small lift beyond that for back rooms on the second and third floors. There are two nice rooms on the ground floor just off the breakfast room. Beware if you have mobility/flexibility issues, as the opening to the bath/shower can be quite small
Until last day morning yes but last days I decide next time I will not stay there. Because of one stuff.
This is a very nice small hotel located in an excellent location in Paris with all services close by. The personnel is excellent meaning friendly and always ready to assist you. The only thing not so satisfying is the size of the room. Although I booked a deluxe room, it was rather small in size.
Very friendly staff. Great atmosphere .
Very good shower spray head in bathroom shower.
Very good location, cosy atmosphere Reception staff was quite arrogant and not very helpful
Superb location, and beautiful, opulent decor. I mentioned that it was a special occasion and they upgraded our room, we were over the moon!
The location, ideal for shopping and restaurants. Steep stair to first floor, then very cramped lift to higher floors
