Beautiful newly renovated room, friendly staff and great location. The room could have been better sound proofed to noise in hallway. Could hear conversations of passerbys easily in the middle of the night.
staff was friendly. room was clean feel like iv stayed in better rooms for a lot less!!!!!
The staff was wonderful. They truly went out of their way to help me with my Internet problem. The view of the office building from my room. The fire alarm check that went on way too long. The construction down the hallway was very noisy. I could hear conversations in the next room and in the hallway.
Predictable level of service and comfort Construction noise
Centrally located Affordable valet parking Helpful staff Quick check in Quiet room Clothes iron was damaged No blow dryer was provided Sink did not hold water for shaving, stopper was broken Mirror was showing signs of corrosion Bathroom door made entry/exit difficult No USB charging ports Cleaning attempted to enter my room at both 7:30 AM and 8:45 AM. That was very unwelcome.
Loved the Olive Bar and convenience of dinning and shopping all in one :-) Nothing...
Location, location, location... Awesome accommodations! Construction rescans renovations that were occurring when we were there...
Deluxe Rooms are by far larger and more comfortable than Fairmont Gold Rooms, 500 sq ft vs 250 sq ft. I stay with Fairmont a lot and the old Canadian Pacific Properties are very grand. Staff is excellent. Restaurants offer decent food at a fairly high rate which you would expect at a hotel. The fireplace in my room is silly and its fake, they should just put a fern inside it. Housekeeping crew was great. I always tip them. The air conditioner was awful in 17-135. They tried to fix it twice. It was hot outside and the room was cooler but not cold. There was really nothing else I was unhappy with as I love Fairmont's high standards.
The location can't be beat. It's near the entertainment, arts, and business districts. Union Station is right across the street. The hotel interior is gorgeous. In a city of glass and steel the old stone/marble really feels nice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My room was not renovated like some of the others mentioned by reviewers. The decor was dated but comfortable and good enough for the stay.
Comfy bed Delicious, impeccably cooked steaks Nice pool area El Labo soaps smell amazing Room service was very fast and friendly Very few gluten free items on menus Several times we had a hard time getting in touch with staff (consierge, maintenance, bell desk) Room was incredibly cramped and looked hastily repaired or shoddily renovated Room smelled of previous tenants body odour or cigarettes Closet light was clicking on and off sporadically Steam room in health facilities seemed unclean/didn't smell good
central location room was hot. small too. hotel needs h full redo. looks and smells old.
Quick getaway with the wife!! A little romance and peace and quiet! Enjoyed the ambiance, food, drink and service in the Library bar! Highly recommended
Quiet. Friendly staff. Overpriced food and beverage. Bar closes early.
The location couldn't be better! And the concierge, Jing, was very knowledgeable and helpful! The free wi-fi was a life saver as I was traveling internationally, and the business center was very helpful when I had to send a last minute invoice. I enjoyed the 24-hr sauna and found the beds to be comfortable. The restaurant tended to close earlier than their posted hours, which made for some disappointing evenings. Also, the tap water has a distinct murky color which was unsettling. My room was next to the hotel's storage closet, so each morning I was woken by slamming doors and bustling about.
It was very close to all main attractions in downtown Toronto. Nice walking distance to Rogers stadium. Nice room with comfortable bed.
Beds were very comfortable Very clean rooms. I like the cookie at check in. Very modern and well Kept
Location and staff EXpensive for what I received. Very few TV channels, poor wireless service, no free coffee in am, no free blast Too expensive for price
Good location Small rooms for the price, very limited parking for guests, dusty rooms.
The swimming pool is big for a downtown hotel and the breakfast buffet is worth the pricetag. The location is very central and Double Tree has made great efforts to save this older building. The elevators are slow and unreliable and don't have a way to see what floor they are on while you wait. The breakfast buffet is good but repetitive. It would be nice to see a greater food variety over the days and they need Maple syrup and sugar-free syrup options.
Location No hot tub
I came to the hotel because I was leaving my boyfriend and had a day before I could go back to America. I figured I'd splurge on myself and enjoy a soft comfty bed. Overall things were lovely and I enjoyed my stay. I wasn't told about the deposit that would be taken from my card or the fact I would not get it back. Also being told utensils cost 4$ and there were no napkins or paper towels in the suite, my only issue
Great location, and very nice staff! Would stay here again!
Outstanding service staff! Great bath, sleep, electronics, rapid service, quick elevators. Chocolate chip cookies & fruit water in the lobby bring an added touch of care. I wish our stay could have been several days longer.
I would recommend anyone to stay at the doubletree by hilton JUST so you can taste the cookie you get when you arrive and check in, they are warm and amazingggggg. Other than that, my stay was great and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Although the breakfast buffet was overpriced but it was very tasty. Overall, it was a great stay and I would look to stay there again next time I visit Toronto.
We planned a quick trip to Toronto for our anniversary. We were just staying for the night with plans to take a dinner cruise along the Toronto harbor. The proximity of this hotel made it possible for us to walk to our cruise from the hotel. There was parking for our car in the City Hall parking lot directly across the street from the hotel. The room was clean and spacious and we got a very reasonable rate booking thru kayak. The hotel is located in the heart of Toronto's harbor front, which was great, but there was a Toronto Blue Jays game the night we checked in and the traffic getting to the hotel was pretty bad. In general traffic was extremely slow. Our drive from Rochester, NY to Toronto typically takes around 3 hours. We spent seven hours just getting to Toronto on the day we checked in. The NYS thruway was backed up. The Bridge to Canada was backed up. The QEW was backed up. And downtown Toronto near the Blue Jays Stadium was backed up. Just made for a stressful arrival.
Comfortable bed, clean, great location.
Front desk staff was giving us wrong information to gain access to pool. We made 3 different attempts to the spa facility to try to use the pool on the 3rd floor & had our keys reprogrammed twice & later found out we were not using the right elevator for access. Then the Hot tub jacuzzi was out of order during our entire stay, but front desk was not aware of.
Staff is really nice. Room had a great view and the hotel is located at the heart of the financial district and a walking distance from major Toronto attractions. Great to do business and explore the city. They charge extra for wifi. Free wifi is provided to some SPG members under conditions that are not consistent across Sheraton hotels.
Front desk staff, comfortable beds Room cleanup missed a couple items
The pool and the view I like the service and the cleanliness excellent location
The room and the view. The being woken up at 5:30 am by a fire alarm that went on for 30 minutes, only to have a jack hammer being used 2 hours after that. Barely anyone in the hotel spoke to us, and it took over an hour to check out and get my deposit back. Will never return.
a lovely room and comfy beds, the staff very attentive and professional this days charging extra for wifi in the room seems excessive the water in the shower could be few degrees warmer for comfort
The staff was fabulous The carpet in the room was filthy. There was a red stain between the beds that was unacceptable.
Comfort and staff No fridge in room
The staff were across-the-board, amazingly kind and attentive. The room was very comfortable and clean. The Concierge staff were so helpful. The location of the hotel is the best! The gym and pool were incredibly luxurious! I didn't like that when we registered, the first thing the desk person said to us was an attempt to upsell us into getting a more expensive room. Not cool!
Walking across the street you could see CN Tower. Everything was in walking distance. Parking was reasonable and had many options. Safe and clean, overall nice place to stay for a reasonable price.
Clean room. Walk across the road to Royal York for access to path! Small room. It's hard to find attendant for morning breakfast if you want to order something.
The overall hotel was cute and small. It was a great location to everything. We didnt have a car and it was close enough to walk, uber, or use the train to get to most of the thigs we wanted to do and see. The rooms were small. I wish there were higher floors with more of a city view. Also the tv was in a awkward location to watch. Breakfast was not included, which would have been nice since we stayed for so long.
The room was nice, large enough for us to not feel cramped There seemed to be a lot of light switches that did the same thing. Also it was a pain to print off tickets we needed. All things were minor details though.
Location Restaurant on sight has good reasonably priced breakfast Hardwood floors in rooms Rooms are very small but clean
Rooms were pretty clean Staff was friendly No gym (just a deal of paying the next-door full-sized gym $10/workout) No desk or chair in the room They didn't find my reservation when I arrived, took 5-10 minutes to figure it out. Random $23 charge on my credit card at 2am during my stay On my second day, my card key didn't work and they said apparently I checked out that morning...I definitely did not
the rooms are very small and parking is hard to find
All of the staff were so friendly. And I mean ALL.
Good location Reasonable rates Single bed option had small rooms
The smell in the room
Great location! Good value for the money. Clean room. Wifi is not free. It took over 20 minutes to drop off my car with the valet.
Very small room, didnt even have a closet or anywhere to hang clothes. Great location Very tiny rooms
It was very close to the ACC which is where we were headed. We were "??upgraded" apparently, and, because of the "upgrade" we did not get the type of room we wanted.
The hotel is well located, and I appreciate the free Wireless.
Bed and Tv were good. Didn`t find the staff particularly helpful Thay didn`t have the right size of room we had prbooked, and expected i would accept an inferior room, and when i stood my ground managed to find a king room . There was no apology. The internet facility was not working, and they were unwilling to send a message to my family,.Generally not the kind of place i would return to even though rooms were ok.
We like staying at the Novotel Toronto Centre as it is central to our places of work and is a nice evening walk from the theatre either on Yonge Street or on King Street. The room was crisp and clean, we are only in the room to sleep and shower the rest of the time we feel we should be experiencing the city.
The room was very clean, quiet, and spacious. It was overlooking the main road, and close to Union station. The breakfast was excelent as a quality and diversity. I faced some rude staff at Nicole Cafe during my breakfast. They were rude and unfriendly enough to make me complain for the Cafe manager who showed cold and neutral response which I don't care for her, as I wouldn't try to go for that hotel again.
Very convenient. Close to St. lawerence Market, Air Canada Center, restaurants. I would totally stay here again
The room was big even with 2 queen size beds, with good closet space. The bathroom facilities were excellent. The hallways carpets are stained and old.
Very user friendly, excellent service! None!!
Easy access to places that I wanted to visit The carpet need to be steamed or replaced
The staff was really nice and helpfull.
The view and location. Restaurant food was terrible, room was outdated with stains everywhere and scuffs/scratches all over the room. Also everything was far over priced, i.e. $10.00 for wifi.
Lobby and entry upscale and classy. Excellent location. Room comfortable and well appointed. Room was noisy - fairly constant elevator and/or hallway noise. Could hear neighbor's phone conversation. Bathroom tub a little dated.
Great location and very nice and helpful staff. Rooms were great. The AC worked well and bed was comfortable.
Great location, our room was clean and nice with a beautiful view of the harbor, and staff were very friendly. The pool was nice. I would stay here again. Parking was expensive ($40.00/day for self-parking, $50.00/day for valet), extra fees to use wifi in rooms, but free in lobby. Concierge was knowledgeable about tourist attractions, but didn't know anything about the public transportation when we asked questions about it.
I contacted the hotel to confirm our reservation as we had booked it online a month ago and was forwarded to reservations and the lady was not helpful at all and told me the booking was for two double beds even though my statement from Kayak said 1 King bed. She was rude and didn't want to assist and instead told me she can put in a written request with the front desk for a King room but we will only get it if there is one available. She said someone would get back to me to confirm and no one did so I called the hotel again and again they put me through to reservations and I spoke to someone else who was not helpful either. The third time, I called the hotel and asked to speak to the front desk and spoke with Leonard and explained the situation and the confusion on why we were being told we could not have a king room when this is what we booked. He went above and beyond and not only did he make sure we had a king bed, it was on the 35th floor and lakefront room. It was beautiful and we had a wonderful anniversary. Thank you Leonard. The hotel staff were amazing and polite but the people working the phones for bookings, were not helpful. After dealing with the reservation staff, it put me off and made me want to cancel my reservation as I was unsure if this was a reflection of what the service would be at the hotel. I did not appreciate that the woman I spoke with to confirm my reservation told me to call Kayak to fix the problem of why it said 2 double beds in the hotel system and not King. I told her I had a confirmation email from Kayak and could forward it but she did not want to help me.
Great location right on the waterfront. Easily within walking distance to most everything. Great views from the restaurant in the south tower. Room was somewhat dated. It was still very acceptable, but due for an update sometime in the near future.
Room service was fast and friendly Valet parking people are too bossy
The check in was one of the best I ever had. We found in the morning fresh ketchup in the bed after a late night check in. The door stopper in the bathroom was so loos you could see the entire anchor. Tv had break outs every other minute and you could still see hand marks from so body all over the room. After reporting that during check out I was porimissed a manager to get in contact with me. Nothing happened...
Love this hotel. Perfect location. Comfortable beds. Staff are always friendly and super helpful.
I booked and got charged thru Kayak, com; then I found out got charged second time by the Westin. I contacted their billing dept. and was told I will be issued the refund for the second charged. I have not received the refund for almost a week. I will contact them again if no refund or the refund is not correct. Parking fee is $50 which is expensive. .........
Beautiful Lobby and bar area. Beautiful Lake views with very spacious and well appointed rooms. Very Friendly Staff, check in was fast and friendly. Great location in the City. Hallways and rooms need some updating. Paint, wallpaper and furniture is somewhat dated, faded and chipped. Old refrigerators that don't work still in room. We had someone's dirty undergarments under our bed. Billing errors were widespread and took several calls to fix. Parking is pricey at $50 a night. Nice breakfast buffet. Walk to most major venues or take public transportation which is clean and inexpensive.
My adult daughter and I were celebrating my birthday. My daughter told this to Laveera upon check in, and she immediately gave us an upgrade to a lake view room, and when we came back to the room after shopping, Laveera had ordered a lovely bottle of wine and a cheese tray for us to enjoy. I will definitely stay at the Westin Harbour Castle again and recommend it highly. A big thank you to Laveera!
The Queen bed was very very comfort and i could easily get into sleep, which is a big plus. There were a lot of places that i could go around the hotel, which is great. Overall i feel this hotel is pretty decent. the streets near the hotel got quite loud at night which bothered me to sleep. Somebody would talk out loud which i could hear even i was on 15th floor high. i am not gonna judge anything about that because it's located in downtown which often happens, but I think the voice cancellation should be better than what it is. Like i could even hear what people were talking in the hallway outside of my room.
Sports bar has closed so now if you want to eat you have to leave the hotel.
Nice and clean, recently renovated room. Very comfortable bed and pillows. No ventilation in the bathroom is weird. Very long lines to check in and the huge scale means a long walk to the room.
location, staff very friendly rooms and hallways need updating
The staff was helpful and polite when dealing with some room issues, and lowered my check out price accordingly. The hotel is in an ideal location for downtown Toronto The room and hall carpets need cleaned/updated. When checking in they did not have the room with a Queen size bed that was requested. Moved us to a room with King size bed . The room was handicap accessible. There was no tub,but a shower with a hand held spray nozzle. The nozzle was not attached properly, and flew off when turning on the shower. Water went everywhere(image a cartoon scene). The hotel maintenance crew tried to repair while we were at dinner, but did a poor job that did not solve the problem. Basically, we had to take a shower using a garden hose. Staff moved us to another room the next day, with many apologizes .
Good location, comfortable beds, good facilities and restaurants. Number of elevators seems to be too small for the number of people in the hotel. During the day there was a queue to use it.
Friendly, professional staff Stained carpets, easy access (no restrictions about who can enter building or access elevators)
It's a great location in Toronto and the staff was quite good. The room was dirty and the bathroom absolutely filthy. The AC didn't work and it took several calls to get things resolved.
The hotel is perfectly situated for business in downtown Toronto. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is excellent (seriously, the HR people know how to recruit exceptional team members). I stay here every time business takes me to toronto Small problem in my room linked to a previous occupant, the staff rectified the situation in record time.
They had two pools on for adults only and one for families, work out center and the staff was excellent with any request
Location , express check out Standard rooms need upgrades
Hotel staff were very helpful.
Great room, awesome amenities, and the breakfast buffet made getting up early for work much easier. I will come back when traveling personally to enjoy things without having to worry about my work schedule.
Very nice inside and staff was very polite and helpful didn't see a bar where we could have drinks One of the hot tubs was not working
Had a great time visiting Toronto and our stay at The Grand Hotel exceeded our expectations. This hotel is located in what I think is a perfect location, within 5 blocks of Young / Dundas square (the times square of Toronto) which is right across from the Eaton Centre. The subway takes you right down to Rogers stadium and the CN Tower, or you can easily walk it. Location 5 plus, hotel 5 plus, facilites 5 plus. Would definately stay there again. We took the paid upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite and stayed there with my brother and wife. It was a two storey suite - lots of room for everyone to spread out.
Despite the efforts from the staff, you have to avoid this hotel at any cost. Avoid this hotel until the room as renovated. Paint is missing. Dirty furnitures. Don't sit on the sofa or you have to clean your clothes immediately. This hotel sounded like a nice deal. How disappointing. Need a complete renovation and avoid this place until every room is renovated. Staff was nice but they cannot change the fact that you have a horrible experience, a disgrace for a 4 star hotel.
I had never heard of this hotel and booked it on a whim by just looking at pictures online. The lobby, the hallways, the common areas etc... all fabulous. Didn't even visit the pool or hot tub on roof, but heard it was great! Plenty of space in the room, nice hardwood floors, restaurant is great - really good food and a great atmosphere. I would 100% stay here again. If there were 2 bathrooms in the junior suite that would have been even better. Hotel is across the street from Salvation Army so not the most ideal location but easy to walk to different locations and getting a cab is pretty easy.
Good looking place. Good facilities. Poor location. Some minor annoyances such as the room literature having the incorrect times that breakfast was served.
STAY HERE! got a group of 5 traveling for New Years? Rent their suites! It's so worth what you pay every single penny. Defiantly made you feel high class and who doesn't want to feelnlikenthat on New Years?!?
Great front desk personal.Free shuttle service is great.
The staff in the restaurant and maid staff were really nice. There was a breakfast buffet every day. Complimentary water. The room was good sized and nice looking. Mini fridge and microwave were useful. Was within walking distance to many places. The gym there was okay. Cable tv sucked. Some of the channels were stuck or didn't have sound. Wifi went in and out. The breakfast buffet is just the same thing every day. They should mix it up a little, like french toast one day and waffles the next. The couch and original pillows on the bed were really hard. Had to request other pillows to sleep on.
Great decor, fantastic breakfast buffet, amazing door and front desk staff, underground secure parking, large bedroom window view, pool, free wifi. TV was not hi def, limited channels, hot tub was closed when we were at pool area.
Ok Not. Very clean
Not too expensive Front desk staff gave bad directions twice. Propositioned by prostitutes a block from their front door. Pool and hot tube where pretty mediocre. Bed wasn't very comfortable.
Nice big clean rooms felt like home The odd sketchy character outside but to be expected in downtown, not there fault
Great location, nice big clean room, staff was amazingly helpful and kids and I enjoyed the pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room! It's nice you can swim until midnight!! Couldn't get through to room service from 9:40 pm on and it room service stops at 10 so we preferred pizza out of the hotel!!!
My favorite part was the steam room. The elevator was broken at the time but they were trying to fix it asap
Variouse other tenants in ajacent rooms where quite loud during our stay.
The price seems to be near the best in the area This hotel is fairly old, part of the bathrooms have been redone and the bed had clean new fresh linens, but other than that the hotel felt a little musty and the carpet was extremely dated.
I like about studio room Cost me for parking too much
Our room smelt a little musty....but we didn't spend too much of our time in the room. We did a lot of site seeing.
Kids loved the pool. Weight room was decent for a hotel gym. No wifi in my room! I had to go downstairs to the front lobby to get wifi. So no working from your room and no Netflix from your room. The room felt outdated. The lamps were old lamps, the bed was very stiff.
It was nice that there were 2 pools and that they were available a lot of the time with long hours of operation. We updated for a "deluxe" room but we had mold on our ceiling, and there was a chunk of wood missing from our balcony, and also the mattress was very poor quality.
Breakfast was good Staff was extremely helpful Rooms weren't clean Insects in room Slow elevators Balcony dirty
The elevator service was so poor the holes Halls were extremely hot Hotel elevator extremely slow and the Halls were completely hot could not breathe thank you I will not travel there again
The location, lobby and pool were all nice features The rooms seemed very old and dirty, room service not that great
I had stayed here in the past and it always wasn't as nice as it was this time. Rooms have been painted and updated. The bed was great! Prices went up a little and still breakfast isn't included. Parking should be cheaper for those staying at the hotel.
The room was extremely dirty, with the exception of the bed. There were almond bits left on the furnace and the tables were sticky. The décor of the room needs to be refurbished, as paint and other areas are deteriorating. There's also been multiple times when there were no staffs at the reception area, leading to long wait times.
The hotel is too far from downtown. You have to take a bus and then the subway. The write-up gave you the impression that you are very close to downtown. We had to change our room due to the fact that the air wasn't working. The elevator was not working.
Nice pool and workout facilities, good location, comfortable bed, nice grounds around the hotel On demand wasn't working we called several times for someone to come and fix and each time they said they would and never did. The pool was being repaired as we swam (painted around the pool area), the breakfast included was great however the information was not conveyed correctly and we were apparently in the "wrong dining area" the exact same breakfast was in the "right " are so don't understand the comment by staff.Simple information about the breakfast and hotel was not available in the room directory so we actually had to call down to ask(no reason for this if made available in the room)
the hotel is good for the value of money the elevator not working properly , no water boiler in the room
When we arrived I had asked for a handicap room if available as my husband is disabled. We were given one on the first floor. When we entered the room it was hot and had a dank odor. The air conditioner was blowing out warm air only. We called the front desk they sent a gentleman to checkb it out. His reponse was "it's running as cold as it can". We asked to be moved to another room. The second room we were moved on the second floor was dirty and smelled of tobacco smoke. what upset me the most was the strong tobacco smoke smell on supposedly clean towels. At this point we were tired and didn't want to call the front desk again. The next day I had gone to the front desk again and stated the particulars. The women was very professional and very willing to make things righ. We were moved to the 6th floor and it was as if we were in a different hotel. It was clean well kept and did not smell! Update/upkeep the rooms that require updating. No wifi available in rooms on 1st and 2nd floors. 6th floor had wifi.
the only Too many stairs
Clean rooms. Nice decor. Nice staff. No valet. Parking lot across the street so it was awkward to check in. Neighboring rooms and ankle noises could be heard
Just needed a safe, clean place to sleep.. Because who visits a new city only to stay in the hotel room? Nice staff, awesome bar across the street called The Imperial (just a dive, but good food and staff), I'll be back.
Loved the location you can see Yonge Dundas square from the lobby!!!! Very updated and clean with friendly accommodating staff! Would have been nice to have wifi and parking included when purchased through deal sites, included when purchased through The Bond Place website.
Location is close to everything and room has all you need Beds were a little lumpy and had to put towel over A/C vent
location was perfect for those that want to be near the heart of the action: Eaton Square and walking distance to Wellesley-Church. Rooms were on the small side but Scandanavian decor maximized space utility while still giving the room some style. It's on the edge of "fringe" neighborhood, so be careful walking alone or at night. It's the price you pay to be close to the action. Likely because of the competitive price, more than half of the hotel was occupied by people over 70 for the weekend we were there. Weird since it's near the bars, clubs, strip joints, college dorms, and Eaton Square itself.
The view from the 18th floor is incredible. It was cozy and appealing. Denny's for breakfast down the street. Burrito boyz rescued the night after checking out the bad tapas options. The bed is pretty comfy if you like em soft. Nice storage, nice cleaning staff. It's nice if you don't need too many extras. Security feature to use elevators with room key card The bar tapas on friday and Saturdays, $10 for ruffles chips and marble cheese? Not worth it. Get a catering company to help out with the tapas options and get more revenue with better food. The pop machine ate my money. My receipt said i would have a deep soaking tub, i did not. I suggest the sheets get more attention with appearance. Internet bandwidth is limited, no netflix. Towels aren't big enough, not enough pillows, bed really bouncy like it's not on a proper frame. The heat was blowing in my boyfriend's face most of the night, should look into a better heating system. The
Location and room were great . Decor and bed good too. good value for price. note the fact that Wi fi was not included . Neither were movies available or working ,or parking included. not impressed with the $250 downpayment for cleaning fee . Not mentioned when booking or on the website .
The location is tremendous, right on Yonge-Dundas square! Underground parking across the street with in/out privileges for a fair price. Staff was helpful and polite. Clean rooms with inexpensive (cheap?) but obviously newer fixtures and decor. I didn't have to pay for internet, they gave us an access code for each device we requested. Room was quite small. Gym was small, hot, some equipment out of order. Thin walls or doors: loud! Not a luxury accomodation, but then again it's priced fairly low so you get what you pay for.
location and price, clean, friendly enough.... lots of construction in lobby... front desk seemed under staffed
Clean, nice bathroom. Nearby subway was a huge bonus. Loud on the weekend. It is downtown though so that's to be expected. Somewhat small room.
Convenient, clean, and comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff. Only complaint is wifi charge. First place I'll look next trip
Clean one of the elevators was broken resulting in long waiting times.
I only stayed for one night but I found my room to be clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
It was awesome Nothing
Clean and friendly. Good sound proofing for flight noise. No carpeting is a plus in cleanliness but did prove to be noisy thanks to guests upstairs. Sounded like they were throwing a ball to a dog or they had a super active toddler running about into the wee hours. Airplanes descending to land pass directly over the roof of the hotel. Excessive noise from upstairs guests.
The room was modern and my girlfriend and I enjoyed the ambience of it. The hotel is experiencing major remodeling, therefore parts of the hotel aren't complete (elevator, lobby, some floors) the stopper in my tub was literally just sitting in the tub and the towels smelled like cigarette smoke in which i hate. The overall stay was good and for the price i got it for I won't complain. They upgraded my to a suite on the top floor since it was my birthday. Towels smelled like Cigarettes, long metal stoppers from my tub was broken and could have been hazardous and the strickly 11a.m. check out times.
I really can't explain what I enjoyed about the hotel, the hotel was fine, clean, plenty of water pressure in the shower. A few chain restaurants are nearby. The Airport Shuttle is run by a third party and their scheduling means nothing, stood at the curb for an hour. The hotel is showing its age, but clean. They also use "Sleep Number Beds" which has never been a positive, its like sleeping on an air mattress.
Staff were courteous and helpful. The booking process with kayak. I was charged in US funds and at no time during the booking process was that indicated. It was only after the booking was paid for and confirmed that I was advised the charges were in US funds. I would have paid much less booking directly with the hotel.
Everything was very comfortable. Friendly helpful staff made this stay even better. Great location with good food choices within walking distance of the hotel. This trip was for business. Since I need to work with my computer and have many phone calls during working hours there are times that I rely on room service. Unfortunately the food was not up to par and the prices were high, especially for the lack in taste.
The staff was not helpful or friendly The rooms were not cleaned good in a daily basis
All the restaurants within a few minutes walking distance. Room was clean and comfortable. The hotel has little soundproofing, you can hear hallway conversations in your room.
We were in town for a concert and a Jay's game, the location was perfect. We love to be near the waterfront when in Toronto and this was our favorite location so far. The hotel is smaller in size which is nice, not too busy, it's clean and the staff was great. The pool area on the 5th floor is a great location to sit at night and enjoy a cocktail while people watching. We have no complaints about this hotel. A little pricey but I guess you pay for location.
Loved the full wall of windows with shutters on them in the bedroom and windows/skylights in the bathroom. Made the room so wonderfully bright in the mornings. Modern updates gave the room a high-end look and feel. Very beautiful. Very comfortable. We experienced four minor annoyances. Firstly, the fireplace (which came with a remote - pretty cool) made squeaking noises when it was on. Secondly, the mattress was overdue for a change - my side had a significant body indentation in it. Thirdly, the lower spigot in the shower was not attached to the wall - it stuck out about a foot or so into the shower. Lastly, the old tub is still in the bathroom but really just takes up space (it's a short tub, so no spa-like soaking). None were huge issues, just minor details that should be addressed.
Location and the updated modern rooms were very clean!
Settled into the hotel restaurant for dinner--seemed nice at first glance--only to discover that the only way for guests to use the pool facility is to enter and exit, you guessed it, right through the restaurant. Read: noisy kids, waterlogged floors, noisy commotion, did I mention noise? Yeah. Noise, lots of noise. What an incredible fail for Radisson.
The location was pretty good with pretty quick access via street car to the main subway terminal. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. This is definitely not a luxury hotel. Things look nice but the hotel is old with a new coat of paint. You can tell where the renovations were done on a budget so things looked nice, but were not actually done well. In addition, the walls were paper thin. We could hear the people in the next room having a conversation. We did get the hotel for a very good rate, but there is absolutely no way the rooms are worth normal price. The hotel itself is not bad, but it is by no means 'luxury.'
Room was clean bright and comfortable, staff was professional courteous and quick. Parking was an issue, went to a ballgame and left after the game. Vehicle was left in parking lot at hotel took me over 35 minutes to exit lot. Restaurant at hotel is beautiful but not family orientated.
The breakfast french toast was delicious. Good downtown location. Room didn't have blackout curtains, but it did have Eastern exposure (i.e. the early sun). I think the more expensive rooms had blackout curtains, but that should be a standard feature, not one you pay more for! Bathroom didn't have a toilet-paper dispenser. Had to unroll it on my own. Nor did the shower have a full closing door- only half the shower was covered.
The location was phenomenal, within walking distance of so much -- only a 10-15 walk from Air Canada Centre, a couple minutes from the Rogers Centre/aquarium/CN Tower, and just a short subway ride from the ROM and Casa Loma, etc. The restaurant behind the hotel (Amsterdam Brewhouse) was absolutely fantastic as well. The rooms were so clean and big and comfortable. It was perfect for a weekend getaway. On top of it, the staff was so friendly and helpful, making for an even better stay. The only thing I really didn't like was the fact that parking wasn't free for hotel guests (it was $21/day), but I know that it's a hotel in the downtown area of a large city, so they can't really control that/you should expect to pay for parking.
Great location between Ontario lake and the CN tower!
Everything was great and staff was amazing. Very clean. Great location a couple blocks from everything. Parking was a mess was told $21 dollars but credit card was charged $35
very nice updated hotel close to many attractions and public transportation. staff could have been more knowledgeable about locations and attractractions
Room was nicely appointed, clean. Location is great although construction is going on in street for awhile
The location and the gym I was transferd to three room because one had trash in it after it was cleaned, the second had 4-inch deeps in the matress...they weren't flat...it looked like they were mattresses from 20 years of usage...the third room on the 9th floor with out any reception. The manager was made aware. My three night stay was over 500.00 USD. The hotel is not the Marriot standard. It looked like it was a Motel 6.
Nothing. There is nothing to like. This booking was not in their system and I was asked to leave the hotel!! The WORST customer service at the hotel and what should I say about Kayak/Getaroom.com not having my booking show on the hotels end??? Where is my money??? I hope I am not getting charged or have been charged as I did not even stay at this hotel because they couldn't even verify my booking - the confirmation or booking number provided in my booking email meant nothing to the hotel. I am looking forward to an explanation!!!
From the moment we walked in the doors right through to checkout we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff, from front desk right through to housekeeping. We stayed in the south tower and appreciated the large room and most important, the cleanliness of it. The location cannot be beat, so close to everything. we will definitely make this our hotel of choice for future trips to Toronto. The only thing missing in the room was a mini fridge.
The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. I found myself walking in my stocking feet in the room . Something I rarely do in a hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. No fridge in the room. And there was construction within the hotel.mmElevators were extremely slow from the 14 th floor.
We purchased 2 nights because we thought it was a four star hotel. It barely made three in my estimation. The room was small and drably furnished. It looked old and overused. Bath area also tiny. Just not up to quality standards.
Staff was was always polite, responsive, and competent Restaurant is more like a cafeteria with limited menu
The number one selling point for this hotel, is that it is located right in downtown Toronto on Yonge street and is one block away from the line 1 College subway station, which is also a stop on the 506 Carlton streetcar line. There are also an unlimited number of reasonably priced places to eat and shop within walking distance of the hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful My room was directly across the hall from a bank of four elevators. Fortunately, the hotel was not very busy or it would have been disturbing. The walls are thin and not well sound insulated. I could too much from the adjacent room. There is a new building construction across the street, so you won't get to "sleep in" on the average weekday. Of course this is a temporary situation beyond Marriott's control, which will auto-rectify once the building is completed
Just needed a place to crash for one night while doing an event downtown. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Booked the room at a time and rate where I felt we got very good value for our money. Would likely stay there again if the price was competitive. The hotel is in the process of renovating, but they are managing everything without any causing any noticeable disruption.
Location, friendly, helpfull staff, comfortable clean rooms Ice machine missing on our floor...left over item from another guest found on floor...nothing major
The location is good Poor service, they didn't have hot water the first day! rude bell desk personal. The cleaning service left trash on the room floor... in general pretty disappointed. Didn't expect this from a Marriot hotel at this price tag.
location Vallet Parking is the only option
The hotel was great. Met my expectations. Our room was next to the elevator ... it was a bit noisy on Saturday night.
Location and staff Air conditioning was weak
Space Loose wires, dark musty rooms, TV not working
Staff is really good and helpful The facilities need a lot of maintenance .Things are not having routine maintenance. Noise couple nights (Friday & Saturday nights) too much noise from people above. Monday morning around 7:00 A.M. a maintenance with hammering and drill noise
Location was good, and view was nice from hotel during the Rememberence Day parade. Building itself needs a lot of maintenance. Our room was nice, but the sheets had stains on them, and the bed and pillows were not comfortable. There were holes in the walls in the closets, and just not a comfortable place to stay. Wifi was a $14 extra charge per day, and parking was an extra $20. Parking is in an underground garage, and is falling apart, and "sketchy", to say the least. Bathroom was very small with old shower curtain and scratches in the tub. Not impressed at all with our stay.
Convenient location... Somewhat clean but staff is not very accommodating. I called housekeeping for an extra blanket and when he came I said "hi can I have..." Right when I was talking the guy cut me off, responding "another one?" With attitude, plus he sounded annoyed. Then I calmy said "...an extra pillow too?". I closed the door, 30minutes after he came back and handed me my pillow. overall it wasn't that great except for location and value.
Convenient location, as I had business at the University of Toronto. Not so much a dislike, but rather a warning: My suite was huge. I was embarrassed by how much room I had, especially as I was out for most of the day, including for meals.
Nice staff Room was cold
a bit run down but value for the price paid noisy lifts could hear them during the night
Location was not too bad, and they gave us a room with an awesome view and a little balcony. Technology was not good (key cards, etc.) Staff not great. Dirty floors, which will get on your sheets.
Location Very Dirty... fil festival was this week so most hotels were sold out. Would never go to this dirty hotel again. very dirty...
location, location, location, clean rooms but not clean corridors, smeel like old cigarretes teh corridors, carpets seemed dirty, stale cigarrete smell
the location was the best about this hotel The staff were not very friendly - on the phone or in person!
Restaurant inside the Hotel
Size of the room for the cost was incredible!
Friendly atmosphere Bar closed at 10pm
The room was pretty huge.
I liked the large room and the and the fridge, microwave. I found the shuttle driver to be rude.
I was impressed by the size of the rooms and the cleanliness of the hotel... It was a great deal!!! We will definitely stay there again!!!
It was very convenient to the airport and all majot roads. Reasonably priced and roomy. The view from the room was of an old hotel which was being demolished although I didn't see any work being done on it.
The rooms are very roomy and comfortable and the hotel restaurant was Excellent, definitely a recommendation. There is no laundry and you have to pay for the airport shuttle which was unusual for me but overall i would definitely stay there again when in the area.
the big suites no slippers and all towels are small
The adjacent restaurant which is Italian
