Accommodation was warm and cosy and staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, great attention to all requests. No tea coffee making facilities in room
Very friendly and helpfull owners, cosy room, nice location right on "the ring of Kerry". Great value.
Good food, pleasant staff, comfortable room A bit noisy in the morning when guests were showering, flushing toilets, talking etc.prior to going down for breakfast from approx. 7.30 am
The staff were very friendly and made us a delicious breakfast! Room was very comfortable and clean.
breakfast, clean crisp cotton sheets on bed water not hot in morning
the people were lovely, great place to stay will definitely be staying there again.
Made you feel at home very freindly breakfast brilliant really lovely
The reception and rapport of staff.
Very comfortable, clean room. Lovely breakfast, great valve for money. Owners lovely people, We would stay there again.
Good location and helpful staff. No credit cards accepted, and full cash payment required on arrival.
Ease of access to the town of Killarney. Plenty of car parking. Very friendly staff and easy check in and check out
there seems to be old rooms and new rooms at the hotel.stayed in an old room once and it was not as nice as new rooms this time there was 2 receptionists.1 extremely pleasant male .the female receptionist wasnt very professional and i didnt like her attitude.they could not locate us because i booked on -line
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent My wife did not like the beds. For some reason they made her back ache. I had no problems with our bed.
Bar is cozy Food is excellent Reception areas are clean and comfortable Staff approachable and helpful Unable to open curtains in my room as peope were passing by the patio style door
It was a beautiful hotel and the staff were really pleasant. All the facilities were great and it was value for money. Yes, I think it was the noise of the lift going up and down constant. We found it very hard to sleep as it was vewry loud where we were. That was my only complaint, very annoying!
nice layout, close proximety to the town, clean rooms drink was over priced. we were not informed when we were booking in that breakfast was 10e extra each as you normally would in other hotels, hence i ended up paying 10e for 1 cup of coffee and 1 slice of toast. when we arrive the receptionist informed us that they may not have a room for us as they had given the room that had been allocated to us to somebody else.
Excellent hotel with great value for money. Rooms were clean and spacious.
Lovely atmosphere and rooms
Location was good. Entertainment clearly aimed at bus tour market.
we liked the size of the hotel and the availability of both pub and restaurant.
The excellent service and staff. Room service menu was good. The service in the bar attached to the hotel was sub-standard most likely due to understaffing.
On arrival the staff immediatly made us feel very welcome. We were escorted to our room by a very well trained porter who didn't leave anything to be doubtfull about as regards to what was available to us in our room and how everything functioned. Wonderfull products in the bathroom. Excellent food, wonderfull breakfast.
Fantastic staff, comfortable rooms. I felt that this hotel did not live up to its billing as a 5 star hotel, I have stayed in other 5 stars and every one was more than a class above this hotel. 4 Star is a more accurate description I feel.
The room was a good size however i do suspect that we had been given an upgrade as the other hotel rooms didn't look quite as big. The spa was excellent. The room design was not that well thought out for example, despite having a TV in the room (at the bottom of the bed) you couldn't actually see it at all as the bed footboard was far too high.
WE loved the surroundings, in the park We found the walk around the lake to the cafe a beautiful and manageable journey. We did take bikes as well one day. Within a short drive were lovely sights, including views of the valley and waterfalls. Resort had lovely spa , and morning breakfast included in our stay was delicious. Can't say enough about staff- Chris , Teddy as our concierges, Julie at front desk and Mauve in Yew Tree restaurant. The spa was moved to a new location which was quite a bit smaller, but as long as weather is good, you prefer to be outside anyway.
the outside hot tub. Price of room.
Comfortable rooms. Staff pleasant and professional. Location is opposite National Park entrance but hotel itself quite ugly with grounds consisting mainly of car-park.
Location, decor, spa, Fridge didn't work, too warm for comfort, breakfast was mediocre, not impressed for the price.
The staff were excellent, they could not have been any more helpful, the hotel is pure luxury and the bedrooms are huge
The room was very spacious, airy and well laid out. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and everything was immaculately clean. Very good location close to town and the INEC. Breakfast finishes at 10am even on weekends even though checkout isn't until 12 so that cut shorts a Sunday lie in!
The guesthouse had an excellent location. The staff were rude and incosiderate of the customers needs. I felt as if I was not treated as a genuine paying customer because I am only 22 and the ladies working there were in their late 50s. I wouldnt recomend it to anyone under 35.
excellent and beautiful B&B. wonderful and courteous staff. fabolous breakfast. extremely clean. woudl definately return to this B7B and woudl highly recommend it. the bed in room 117 ( not sure this is the correct number) was squeeky.
really lovely owner. very helpful and very spacious triple room. Killarney was fantastic!
very good and professional service
Woodlawn House was the perfect place for a long weekend away. Perfectly positioned being just a short walk into Killarney town centre. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the hotel had a lovely homely atmosphere and served amazing breakfasts. The staff were lovely and helped answer any questions about the area. Will definatley be visiting again.
the location close to the inec which we were going to was spot on, the price was fantastic and the place was very clean, staff friendly.
Helpfulness and knowledgeability of the staff about what to do in the area was excellent. Restaurant guide was helpful. Breakfast was excellent! Really none - parking spaces were limited in front of b&b but we always found one.
Staff were very nice and welcoming.good to give advice.it was like staying in a small hotel rather than someones house which was great the bed was uncomfortable
staff were very friendly on arrival, breakfast was yummy - rice krispies a bit off though
My fiancée and I loved this place! The owner (Brigid) was very personable and we felt as if we could have talked to her for days. I enjoyed how quiet the hotel was due to the location (10-15 minute drive from Killarney). Breakfast was very tasty.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Scones were excellent!! Can not beat the price. Location is outstanding - quiet and very close to gap of Dunloe and Muckross. Room was very cold; therefore, difficult to take a shower unless you like it cold.
Clean, spacious rooms. Great breakfast. Close to everything you need. No Wi Fi in rooms. Bar staff not overly friendly.
Great room, very clean. Staff unobtrusive but helpful when needed. Alcohol available from the bar in room after closing which was good as I was at a wedding. Service could have been a little quicker when ordering food from the bar, also a few orders were wrong when served.
Everything,it's a classy hotel No
There is nothing that stands out that was anything near the "best" thing during my stay but if I was pushed breakfast was good. Unfriendly staff
Their attention to detail was excellent. Very friendly and efficient in all areas - girls on reception/waiters, etc. Used the Spa, and it was a beautiful experience. Would do it all again! Nothing. Whatever training was done, should be replicated in other hotels.
The Brehon was a very welcoming hotel. All staff were very friendly. Rooms were of a good size and the bathroom was bigger than in a lot of other hotels. Food was excellent. Good location, about 15 mins from town centre. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
The staff, facilities and the breakfast Nothing
A very nice hotel with friendly staff and a beautiful choice of food for breakfast and a brilliant evening meal and wine choice you could not ask for anything more. The alarm clock going off sunday morning to end the lovely weekend.
The service was excellent
Whole experience Leaving it!
This hotel was luxury at its finest, the best service in reception/room and dining I would have liked to be able to make coffee in the room, but room service was very fast and pleasant. Tea/Coffee making facilities not available in the room. Even though I was led to believe I booked a smoking room this was a Non smoking Hotel which is fine, but they do not provide a sheltered available area outside to smoke. Stormy weekend I was blown away!!!
The hotel staff were absolutely excellent especially when they had not recieved our booking confirmation from your organisation they facilitated us and upgraded us as they were aware of how embarrassed we were when they could not find any record of our boooking
Friendliness of Staff & level of service was exceptional No tea/coffee making facilities in room. No minibar - surprised at this for a 5 star hotel
hotel was very clean porter in hotel was very nice and helpful, the rooms were clean.Good location in killarney town plenty of parking room.pool and spa was very nice. breakfast wasnt great for 5 star hotel it was basic had better breakfasts in 3 star hotels and not that freindly in the morning in the breakfast room, there as a very tense atmosphere for some reason.
The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. I liked the atmosphere and found the visit very relaxing.
very high standard of comfort hotel in hotel; nice bar with very good bar food; good restaurant - all staff particularly helpful and courteous nothing
The politeness of the staff
great service. nice atmosphere.
Dinner in Restaurant
The room was cheap. I didn't like the attitude of the staff. I felt I was putting them out by staying there. I won't book this hotel again and I travel to Killarney frequently.
comfortable, friendly hotel
The location is excellent near to Killarney. The breakfast was great and the lobby of the hotel was impressive Heating did not come on until 7.30 pm
Pool table room food was disappointing, few staff so no breakfast left next morning despite being down 9.45. Beds too short in length which resulted in poor nights sleep, disappointing room service the next morning
This hotel was great, clean and the staff were really helpfull. We will be returning again soon
The room was lovely and we had breakfast brought to the room, it arrived on time and was piping hot, real treat. The receptionist could try a smile once in a while, other than that I had no complaints.
Great Value for money
The room was nice and newly refurbished. The length of the beds in the rooms where too short.
pleasant stay value for money. This is a good base for travelling the beautiful countryside of Killarney
The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and the bar food was spot on. We ate there both nights. We were due to eat in the town on the second night but the food was so good we ate there on the second night. That breakfast finished at 10 would have rathered 10.30 or 11 at the weeekends. Breakfast was cold and we didnt eat the second morning because the first morning was so bad.
This hotel is part of the Manor House group in Ireland. We stayed in the old part of the house which has huge rooms with high ceilings. Our bathroom was the biggest I have ever seen. As big as most peoples' sitting rooms. The restaurant was closed for the two nights we were there but you could eat in the bar. The fact that the restaurant was closed without any proper explanation.
We enjoyed the quietness of the hotel, there was no hassel checking in, the room was clean and warm and we would stay there again. I had only one thing I did not like about the hotel and it was the coffee with the breakfast, it was served too early and by the time we got our hot food the coffee was cold and it was also too strong.
very large room with great facalities within the room good cheep room service nice grounds
Excellent, helpful staff; very comfortable common areas and rooms; very good restaurant; warm, homey feel; good location, and nice grounds. Internet access in common areas only. Would have preferred internet access in room.
Olde world feel
Cahernane House was our favorite accommodation during our trip to Ireland. The rooms were well appointed and spacious. Great restaurant on site and the grounds were lovely as well. Short walk to Killarney town center and great place to explore Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninusla from. Staff was extremely gracious and helpful, especially Marion at the front desk. No complaints at all.
The facility just outside of Killarney was amazing, the staff was top quality and accommodated all of our requests (tea by the fire, etc.), and the breakfasts were top rate.
atmosphere, style of the hotel. a member of housekeeping walked in on me while i was sitting on the toilet,i never even heard her coming in,no member of housekeeping,in my opinion, should have access to the rooms until after the checkout time,it was very embarrassing.
A beautiful historic manor house hotel. Nicely appointed rooms with great views of the fields & moutains of Killarney....A nice homey pub & a terrific breakfast...Mary was great as the front desk mgr...
Very comfortable, excellent room, extremely friendly staff and atmosphere, in the midst of Killarney town
Comfortable, well situated, and romantic. Courtious staff. Very nice. Smell of old frying oil, especially in the bar/ rest, not too strong, but there.
The staff were very friendly & helpful; Great shower & loved the bath robes No tea/coffee making facilities in our room / noisy generator or fan outside our window
very comfortable - lots of nice touches. Only that there was no internet access due to them not having a internet cards in stock
Staff were excellent and friendly made stay in killarney very special.
Loved the old, antique style of the hotel. rooms were very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
the service was great, anything we asked for was given straight away no
the breakfast and the restaurant. All was very good and the proffesionals very kindle I think the instalations are a little bit old and may be due to that, noisy
Beautiful hotel and great walking distance to center of the town.
A very stylish an quaint hotel with very helpful staff, and impeccable attention to detail in the room
Wonderful place, very quite hotel, lot of details in the house and also in the garden. Closed to Killarney. A small bar open during the evening would improve the hotel.
friendly owner and staff, clean, quiet and comfortable
The hotel is very pretty and clean. The services were great. The location is not within walking distance of the town and it was difficult to find, even with a GPS.
Owners attention to detail & helpfulness. Overall we were extremely happy with our stay and if we were visiting Killarney again we would definitely stay there again
Kathleen was wonderful! We will definitely come and stay again. It had a home feeling that made us feel comfortable.
a family home away from home. Staff top class and are not shy in promoting Kathleens for further vacations which i liked, typical Kerry, and why not. we had no complaints.
The house is beautifully appointed with no detail spared. Excellent hostess & staff. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning on visiting Killarney There is no complaint with perfection!
Kathleen is an extremely helpful resource for the traveler on what's to see in the Killarney area and based on your length of stay in the area. She also recommended several excellent restaurants while we were staying with her. She and her staff are very attentive to their clients; her place was recommended by friends to us and we would recommend to others. The rooms were very comfortable and breakfast was quite substantial and excellent.
I liked it all - It was a wonderful stay - I could not have asked for more
Courtesy of the staff. A little too pricey.
Staff very good and rooms nice
The hosts were very helpful, considerate and friendly. The atmosphere and setting were relaxed and welcoming. The fare was sumptuous and plentiful. Highly recommended with a moderate tariff. For us, it was a very restful break during travel. Only query is that no one else had taken the time to write a review, so we did not have any reference to go by. If was a great place to stay.
Friendly staff, great communications with clients, fantastic quality irish breakfast complete with lovely home made breads jams etc.
Comfortable, clean room, nice breakfast. The grounds are beautiful, quite and peaceful. It's ~5 min. drive from the town centre. The owners are lovely, give us a lot useful information about the area. We loved it. Everything was fine.
The spa was excellent, very relaxing and the scenery was superb. The only thing i thought was the price of the restaurant was a little expensive.
The Spa Facilities The room needed updating
Rooms were comfortable The web site indicated that there was a a spa centre and leisure facilities available. The fact was that these would not be open until mid June and I felt that I was misled.. In addition the room that I was allocated was overlooking a building site and I was awaken by the noise at 8 o'clock in the morning by the builders. Furthermore a complaint was made to the manager .
the hotel decor, finish and ambience is great, very relaxing, the staff are very professional, accomodating and helpful. we will definately come back nothing
The updated brasserie was very nice & had a wide range of choice & reasonably priced to suit all tastes. The hotle has construction work going on at the back of the hotel & the pool facilities were still under construction even though it mentioned in the website that they have both an indoor & outdoor pool. This is false advertising.
The scenery was fabulous and the staff was most helpful. As you enter the hotel, the view took my breathe away. We live on a mountain lake in Lake Arrowhead, California, so we were instantly at home. thanks for a great stay. My only problem was the lack of transportation into town. It was such a short distance, yet the taxis still charged $25 euros for a round trip and that is exorbitant. The hotel should have a shuttle for those who do not have a car. This situation would actually prevent us from staying again as we would stay in town to have more access to activities.
View at breakfast, location, beautiful gardens, the lake, the spa, the whole hotel is very classy and well decorated Would've been nice to have a view of the lake for 240 euros, we were facing the tennis courts and didn't have a balcony, having to wait in line to order eggs, the hot food on the buffet didn't taste great, room and bathroom were small, front desk seemed short staffed for a Saturday
The staff went out of there way for us. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating. There was a bit of refurbishment still going on however the hotel did compensate us by upgrading our rooms and were very helpful in every way.
Spa, bar and restaurant facilities service at the restaurant la brasserie
Gorgeous hotel, fantastic pool area, lovely staff, glorious location. Restaurant, for both breakfast and dinner, wasn't really a 5 star experience, although the prices were.
Very nice hotel, at a very reasonable price...
Great value for money. excellent breakfast. friendly helpful staff.
Friendly and helpful staff; Good value. None
Good hotel None
The warmt within the building, very cosy. Didnt like the way someone barged into our room to ask were we checking out, i'll admit we were late leaving our room on check out day but she could have at least knocked first before entering. The breakfast could improve also, very basic
Good location ,nice place to relax , very good brekfast ,frendli staff.
Very good value for money and attentive, helpful staff Shower in need of updating in one of the rooms as the water pressure was unpredictable
Very clean, staff very friendly Room only newly renovated, no T.V. remote, no bedside lamps, no clothes hangers, no tea making facilities.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, good location and good choice of room types for group.
Spacious room with good shower facilities. Breakfast was good and staffs were friendly and courteous. Cupboard do not have enough hangers but did not deliver after requested for more.
The ambience & atmosphere, friendly welcome, superb personal service by all staff, good food presented well, easy access to room for elderly companion, personal service, easily accessible parking in public car park at rear of hotel. There was nothing at all that I disliked about the hotel
I think the Hotel was lovely for what it is - a reasonably priced, old hotel well located in Killarney and I enjoyed the one nights stay. Breakfast available after 10 am
Excellent, friendly, helpful receptionist.Beautiful room, lovely breakfast. Nil.
Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Hotel is in a great location and the accommodations were good. Staying at Arbutus on our first night in Ireland set the perfect tone for the rest of our trip
Very comfortable, good music in the bar, friendly staff. No car park, however public car park at the rear of the hotel.
I like the old-fashioned look of the Arbutus Hotel, it is homely and welcoming
Receptionist could not have been more helpful. Room was clean and quiet. Decor could be improved
welcoming staff I thought it was overpriced
This is a very well-run family hotel in the middle of Killarney. The staff are all obviously of long-standing and know there jobs thoroughly. Our very spacious room was quiet, air-conditioned, clean and well decorated, with a large and amply appointed bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Could have done with a little more storage space (E.G. chest of drawers) and the view was of a car park, but these are nitpicking complaints of a town centre hotel.
Central location View looked directly onto blank wall
Efficiency, friendly staff, good service, fantastic location Vegetarian meal options at the inhotel restaurant were unimaginative for a hotel of this class!
The initial room we were allocated was shabby and needed a good clean - certainly was not five star standard. Had to be upgraded to a better room which was a suite.
The hotel room was very comfortable and the view of the lakes was beautiful. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and the Spa was wonderful.
High quality room and service .Very good retaurant.Very good spa and pool . Very nice place for a totally relaxing luxury break.
The staff was very accommodating. Beautiful view of the lake. Breakfast was excellent. No complaints at all.
It was our 1st year Wedding Anniversary we were upgraded to a lakeside suite, our views from the room was absolutely fabulous breath taking views.Going to this hotel ask for a lakeside room as the views are amazing. The Spa was exceptional. What we loved about this Hotel was the staff I have never stayed in any hotel in Ireland or overseas where the staff have been so friendly. The Management should be very proud of this factor. Already planning our next trip to Aghadoe Heights.
The staff are exceptionally helpful and the services are first class
very family friendly
The view was great and the room was spacious. It was quite pricey and situating right next to a big graveyard might not be everyone's cup of tea.
Very friendly and accomodating staff, very comfortable surroundings fantastic food. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.Would revisit in near future
Absolutely totally relaxing.I felt that I had been there for a week not three days.
Very friendly welcome from the Host / Proprietor. Comfortable bed and clean room and bath room. Very good breakfast.
Very friendly and welcoming owner. Excellent location 5 minutes walk from town centre. Easy to find and good off-street parking. Excellent breakfast. Great value for money.
The place was beautiful! Very comfortable. Staff were friendly and offered great service.
Personal touch very friendly, easy access and very central
Excellent location, right in the centre of town, with friendly staff and good sized room. Disappointed that there were no tea making facilities in the room.
Lovely hotel very homely and cosy good sized rooms which are very clean, the breakfast is as good as they say never had a better one then there, will stay there anymore when in killarney
People, room, hospitality. Within walking distance to shops and eateries.
The hotels attention to detail. The staffs professionalism. The outside garden area and general environment. The iformative barman. The quiet and tranquil experience. Could have more advise on fishing their river
magnificent scenery, beautiful hotel, excellent service, very kid friendly, good food, in-laws described it as a "shangri-la", would like to have stayed longer needs softer pillows
the hotel and grounds are really very beautiful. it was a pleasure to walk around both. no lift to our room.very hard going up stairs with my condition
Great location, stunning views, welcoming lobby, rooms were spacious and well designed, leisure facilities were top notch, everything you would expect of a five star hotel.
I liked everything about my stay. The hotel is lovely and the staff very helpful. The location is beautiful. Unfortunately, the weather was not good! Well, they don't serve Murphy's stout which my husband was looking for. Our room was beautiful, but we had a long walk to it.
the friendly service and the relaxed atmosphere as well as the comfort made it a most enjoyable stay no, everything was great
Incredible view, best beds ever, perfect clean, super service and good food for reasonable prices. Very quiet.
Welcoming hotel in superb setting with excellent facilities for children and adults. Lots of free activities - fishing, tennis, horse-riding, great pool. Good breakfast. Uncomfortable beds - two singles pushed together to make a "double" and cheap hard foam pillows. Catering, other than breakfast, very average and rather over-priced. No in-room tea/coffee or connectivity.
loved every bit of it..the food, staff, stunning views, great for kids and even the weather was good!
quiet, comfort, nice views, attentiveness of staff. no tea/coffee facilities in room, no jaccusi
