Spacious room Delivery charges for room services
Very good, spacious bathrooms with a separate shower. Overall, hotels in Sydney are quite expensive.
Central location difficult for car unloading in market street and small street lobby
location was great, the room was beautiful, friendly staff
room, the staff, and the location were all great nothing
Excellent central location, walkable to harbour and train station and monorail close by. 14 dollar by train to airport
We enjoyed Sidney for WYD 2008 No. It was very comfortable.
Clan/tidy room Reception staff not particularly friendly
The location and the staff are about the only likeable characteristics of this hotel. I paid $249 for an Advantage room requsted 2 double beds only to be told on checkin that the room only had one double bed. I then had to pay $50 to upgrade to an Executive room (a better room apparently) I failed to see the value which also included free drinks at the bar from 5.30-7.30 and breakfast which was the worst I have experienced at any hotel.
Totally I evaluate this hotel better than Grace Hotel nearby. Hotel's dining, serving Indian dishes every night is bit tiresome for the guest staying 10 days like me.
perfect, with a first class concierge service
It was great being so close to the centre of Sydney. The staff were very helpfull and nothing was a problem.
Super helpful staff and great central location. WiFi was only 30 minutes free a day per room.
The fantastic staff, who were very friendly and helpful. It was also great that I was allowed to check into my room really. I really appreciated it. The location of the hotel is also superb! I had trouble opening my door on several occasions. It often took several swipes of my card to access my room. I also was confused about the card required to access the fridge of food and drinks on my floor. The information I was given on check-in indicated that I had received one as a matter of course, but I did not get one and was worried about being charged $10 for losing something I never received.
Convenient location Bed uncomfortable
We found it was ideally suited being so close to the CBD and the many attractions in that part of the city. No
Beds were comfortable. Good selection at breakfast - although breakfast room very crowded on occasions. Bathroom was rather basic. Fairly long walk into the centre of town (although fairly convenient for China Town restaurants)
Great hotel , Very frendly staff
The bed plus the espresso machine
Location to Darling Harbour We didn't get the coffee machine as advertised ???? no big deal.
Closeness to the public transport and to dining facilities No
Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. I found the room expensive for the night, though understand it is likely the high season and also a Saturday night. However, I have stayed in many hotels much nicer for less in Sydney and internationally.....no real complaints though. I would stay here again for sure if the rate was more reasonable.
Simply everything. The hotel is a stones throw away from Circular Quay, and is in walking distance to the iconic Sydney Opera House. There are lots of awesome shopping venues all around; with food galore and convenience stores to choose from. There are several tours that have starting points only steps away; including ferry tours and dinner tours. I highly recommend the harbour view rooms. The view is breathtakingly beautiful. You really can't go wrong with this hotel. Absolutely nothing not to like.
The front desk staff sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne to put room because we were celebrating our honeymoon. They even included a very nice personalive card, too!
Bellmen were good, pillows Received worst room imagined. Low floor, dirty windows, bad views, receptionist lied about restaurant open at 10PM, Burger cost $30 plus tip, water in room was $10, room was expensive at about $300/night, no loyalty program with airlines except Qantas, shower was open with no door, no microwave, no real conveniences, small room.
Location, service and ammenities were great. Staff was very welcoming Facade could use an update but the inside is very nice
Room very clean and comfortable My second reception experience - arrived early and room not ready. Very helpful chap checked me in, checking photo ID and giving me spa key so I could freshen up after long flight. Promised a text when room ready and promised this would be within 2 hours. Returned from run to see if room ready having not received text in spite of two and a half hours having elapsed. Female receptionist insisting in seeing ID again which seemed utterly superfluous to requirements. When asked why I hadn't received a text she said that the "room has just this moment become ready". Amazing coincidence. ended up being late for an appointment because she was so reluctant to relinquish the key without me having to go and find my photo ID even though it was obvious I had already checked in and knew all the details.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location, 10 minute walk to the opera house. You can see the harbour bridge from the hotel street. They have FREE money exchange (US dollar to AD dollar). Super convenient.
Ideal location for visiting Sydney sites and restaurants. Helpful staff.
Location, not too expensive for a 5 star, good restaurant and breakfast buffet. The sheets were too heavy I found, I struggled to get comfortable.
Beautiful room, comfortable bed, great fitness center. Location was exactly what I wanted and needed for a couple of days in Sydney...close to everything! Felt safe, and was treated wonderfully by all staff. I REALLY have an issue with the use of so many plastic water bottles. It is nice to have them in the room for many, I know...and to have them to carry around, as well. But...in the gym? C'mon. Use a filtered water system, or at least have one available so that when you run out of your own water, you can refill it without having to use yet another plastic water bottle. For the cost of the bottles and the disposal, reusable ones could probably be provided to every guest.
I loved everything from the location of the hotel to the luxurious rooms and the beautiful architecture! The service was excellent! Nothing.
The location is great. The hotel is close to everything from shops, supermarket, office, parks, restaurants. The room is spacious and the bed was very comfy. Two towels of 4 were badly washed. They still have some stain in them. Breakfast could use more variety for the price they are charging. Some staffs at the conscious were not friendly.
The hotel is a a great facility and in the middle of downtown Prices in all of Sydyn are extremely high. Parking was outrageous
Good customer service. Slightly long check in time.
Quality hotel. Valet parking was efficient, rooms were as advertised i.e. clean, modern with a relaxing feel air-conditioning noisy when actually trying to fall asleep
Gym and Executive floor accessorites Nothing
TV in the shower! Nothing
The courtesy of staff and its location The rooms are quite small and the drains in the showers don't work well
Staff were helpful and friendly. The pool was well-maintained. It's a really convenient location to shopping and food. Nothing really
Hotel staff were very helpful and catered to all needs, the location is excellent for shopping & night clubs.... and the best was the Buffet Breakfast
Great location, some staffs were very nice and helpful During my last day I called for Bell to pick up my belongings but I waited 15mins and no one turn up so I end up carried them down myself.
The spa was out of order for our last day
Outstanding and polite service; rooms were serviced as we indicated a desire with the appropriate "light" and excellent Executive lounge!
It was my wife's 60th birthday and the little extra touches they did made the stay all the better. Great Hotel.
Great facilities, good service, good location. Room smelt on cigaretes on ckeck in.
It was comfortable and clean and for the purpose of convenience, it was right at the airport. Found the breakfast buffet a little short of staff. An omelet we ordered, never did come and there seemed to be no one to ask about it around.
Pleasant room, quiet, helpful staff
The location to Sydney Kingsford-Smith airport was very good. The lobby was well kept up and the bell service was quick to unload our bags and bring them to our room. The bathroom in our standard room was well designed, including stone/granite counter tops and new(er) showers and toilets. Room includes a mini-bar. The room was a bit dated (e.g. the lights and fixtures) and the carpet was a bit worn. The mini-bar is a bit expensive, but that's my own fault for using it! The only remaining gripe is that the airport shuttle is not free, it was $6 per person. Also the shuttle stops off at the domestic terminal first, before going to the international terminal, so factor that in when planning your arrival time to the airport.
Good facilities, good restaurant, nicecasual bar, good bed, quiet rooms for airport Pillows - feather werent soft went really hard - need a choice
The restaurant food was actually pretty good. I know it's a USA type of complaint but there was no ice and my room service request for it didn't arrive for more than an hour until I then called back and bought a can of soda pop, which arrived thirty minutes later.
Comfortable Room, Friendly Concierge/Front Desk Staff Fish n Chip prices too steep....$26.00 for two bits of fish and semi warm chips!
Great staff. Clean well appointed room. Swimming pool andfitness room a bonus. Airport shuttle good. Restaurant food so so and over priced. Not many other food options.
Close to the airport Friendly staff Clean Good price Exercise room No restaurants near by other than the two owned by the hotel.
Everything was clean and well kept. I didn't like that there was no complimentary wifi. I can understanding having caps to minimize streaming but it would be nice to have some basic browsing ability.
close to the airport. rooms were clean and comfortable the temperature controls did not seem to work in the room. the restaurant staff were difficult to communicate with in English. food was ok but not great - overpriced for the quality
the hotel was great. No problems at all. the only issue is that the rooms were fairly small, but the hotel is in a big city, very close to the airport.
Free upgrade at check in to a room with a harbor view None
Convenient location, clean, modern There was a significant construction project blocking the front entrance and the street in front of the hotel during our stay.
Staff very helpful No pool. No bath. Found an old shoe under the bed. Not so clean.
Centrally located, spectacular water view, balcony for fresh air which is so rare for hotels these days. The poor positioning of the shower head and shelf must be a mistake. You need to stand flush against the wall to have a shower.
wonderful position for sightseeing, oldest hotel in the rocks, with the oldest pub two doors away. Next street our cruise ship was docked so we were able to walk on board our ship with our luggage. fantastic no
The location was good as it was near where our cruise ship left us and the Sydney Bridge as we did the tour. Also, handy to the Rocks weekend markets. The renovations had not been completed and we had not been notified that the lifts would be out and that there was no airconditioning. The ceiling fan was noisy and the bathroom fans from other rooms continually woke us during the night.
I liked that breakfast was included, staff tried to meet our needs, the jelly beans, and every one was very friendly. The stairs!!!
The location was good, walking distance to circular quay. The location was good, walking distance to circular quay. Small room, no chairs, expensive. We were brought breakfast to our room and expected to eat it there but there was nowhere to sit or put the tray, just the bed and the floor. No sign of the Acacia restaurant mentioned on the web site description. The hotel was effectively a building site and outside our room everywhere was coated in dust. No normal hotel facilities and we weren't told about the small guest lounge, in which we could have eaten our breakfast.
Great location We should have been warned that currently the hotel is being refurbished. Perhaps when done it will be alot better
Good location; decoration; the building; nice and attentive staff. A more generous breakfast.
The location was perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful and it was good value.
everything, loved the old world style, the staff are excellent, in fact we intend returning again soon,
Location, ideal for the Rock's and access to transport links of Circular Quay. Noisy, room described as cosy, meant tiny! Furniture as old as the hotel. No mirror in room (complaint from wife). Receptionist (Elizabeth) quite rude when dealing with complaints from many quests. Refurbishment work still underway
We chose the wrong time to visit the Russell Hotel, as renovations were going on. However I am sure that in a few weeks time, when they are finished, it will be a very comfortable place to stay. Excellent location.
Separate tub and shower. Separate beds available and view. Ease and immediacy of taxis. Free wifi
Good location Price -- they are "luxury" in price only Also they lie about the construction that goes on there -- they DO work early in the morning before stated repair hours
Great hotel location affording some rooms great views. Excellent bathrooms, comfortable beds. Lots of people obviously love it - maybe it helps if you upgrade to the Horizons Club, though I don't see why you should have to, especially as these rates not always on offer. Reception shambolic: no welcome, no porter, no offer of help with bags, no offer to join loyalty programme, told me the Shangri-La in Singapore is tired and needs updating! No apology for not correctly processing reservation. Horrible view of motorway toll booths. Annoying things in the bedroom like unplugged lamps, missing glasses, grubby hotel directory. Food and beverage not good. Saturday night the locals all book up the top floor restaurant and fill up the adjacent bar. Reserve days in advance or you have no chance. For a drink this leaves the Lobby Bar. Neon-lit chilled food cabinet, no music, no atmosphere, bright lighting. Nasty. Only available food outlet The Cafe. Horrible buffet. Dreadful, expensive, over-rated.
The staff were amazing, the best hotel staff I have come across in Australia
professional staff and attention to detail and cleanliness
The reception staff were very friendly and efficient coupled with the room service staff who were professional, courteous and friendly. With many people at breakfast it was obvious the staff had difficulty coping with large queues, tables not set properly, inattentive staff.
Breakfast buffet was sumptuous.
the size of our room, the cleanness, the old fashion decor, easy to get to , in the middle of the city
Most comfortable bed in comparison to others including Sheraton on the Park. Staff were friendly and helpful. Being invited for drinks by the hotel.
An excellent centrally positioned hotel which is comfortable, friendly and the cafe on the ground floor is great. Would like some packets of biscuits to have with a cup of tea in the room!
clean comfortable room good location to CBD..the very friendly and competent staff theywere all very efficient .They made you feel welcome and such pleasant manners great staff nothing
The men at the concierge went above and beyond to help us. I truly appreciate everything they did to make our stay pleasurable.
Location was fantastic Everything was very clean and worked in both the rooms and the rest of the hotel Wifi was somewhat spotty and slow. Would have liked the fitness center to include a larger variety of items instead of just a few treadmills and some light weights
Continuous hot water The pricing for 'room service' I find to be quite over priced and the service in the breakfast cafe area is very slow.
This is a great hotel! We also stayed at the Intercontinental, but the The Grace is actually alot nicer. It has a unique ambience and feeling to it with the old building, mixed modern/classic interior and sublime staff.
Staff were pleasant and very helpful especially when I relaised I had left something in my room, The room itself was medium in size but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was central especially to shopping and close to Darling Harbour.
The King Single bed was soooo comfortable, Bar 77 was excellent and breakky was great Not really
Very comfortable bed, room quiet although located on a busy road. Unable to change the temperature of the A/C which for us was too cold.
Very good value for money - all was as expected. Rooftop pool a bonus. Grace cafe, staff and food fabulous.
The building is beautiful!!! Arranging a 12pm checkout to only be called at 1120am and asked what time we were leaving?!
All the staff were very professional and helpful. I had overpacked so needed to send home some items. They found a suitable box for me straight away (within 15 mintues) and brought it up to my room. They were also efficient in organising transport.
Wonderful room Nothing
The hotel is ideally situated for visiting tourist attractions such as Circular Quay, the Rocks, the Bridge and the Opera House. Across the road from the hotel are the Botanical Gardens. This is a 5 star hotel and the interior and service reflects this, I did not eat at the hotel so am not sure whether meals are value for money, there are many restaurants and cafes close at hand to suit most budgets. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped, tea and coffee and fresh milk were replaced each day at no extra charge. Overall a very enjoyable stay. The only critisicism I had was that like most hotels the beds were rather hard.
We thought it was terrific, great location, loved The Bar and staff We had issues with the staff cleaning our room who missed things and cosnsistently forgot to leave thinks lioke breakfast menus
Sumptous, extremely helpful and friendly staff, fabulous location, great food, relaxing bar, everyone so kind and genuine, comfortable bed Yes - did not like leaving!
the friendliness of the staff
I liked the spacious, comfortable room size, the cozy atmosphere, the location of the hotel which makes it easy to explore Sydney's most famous attractions and the helpful and fast service at the reception/concierge desk. The service during breakfast was a bit slow, e.g getting coffee, refilling the buffet took very long.
Large, well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Excellent staff, very responsive to your needs. Beautiful facility that was a comfort to return to after spending the day seeing the sights around Sydney. This hotel is in a perfect location, close to the opera house and ferries yet far enough away to be in a tranquil setting, across the street from the park. If we ever return to Sydney we wouldn't consider staying any place else. There was nothing not to like!
Excellent location, staff and facilities. None
friendly and helpful staff, good location
Stayed at the Radisson for one night on our way inbound from Canada to Melbourne. Lovely hotel, in the heart of the CBD. Close to the Harbour and ferries, the Opera House, slight trek to Darling Harbour but very central. Rooms were clean, modern and spacious. Also, took advantage of the breakfast buffet before or flight the next morning which was quite good but pricey $25per. The porters were exceptional, always attentive and helpful with the baggage. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Only a couple of hiccups, we arrived in the morning and even though check in was at 3pm they said we could check in at 1130am. When we went to pick up our room keys they kept putting us off with “ready in 5 minutes” until noon. Just tell us noon, we would have gone for a walk. While we were waiting in the lounge for our room there was some construction going on in the restaurant, didn’t make for the best of atmospheres.
Convenient location to city attractions. Breakfast prices were way too high. I paid $158 U.S. dollars and the breakfast prices were $18 to $26 US dollars. Overall I enjoyed my stay as the room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
The staff were fantastic - very friendly without being stuffy from frontline to cleaning staff. Great location - right between central shopping & circular quay.
bed is old, sags in middle. Room is old, needs a refurb. "Atrium" means no view at all.
The staff were very courteous.
Service was excellent, staff very pleasant and helpful. Food was first class and reasonably priced. Nothing
CLOSE PROXIMITY TO ALL MAIN ATTRACTIONS.
the hotel is ideally located with shops, attractions and ferries all within easy walking distance. Staff were very helpful. The breakfasts were superb. Room was very clean tidy and well maintained. Sound proofing was good. All the staff from the room ladies, concierge, doorman, reception, cooks and anyone else we encountered were so helpful and friendly.
We asked to hotel concierge for the morning call at 5:30am, but we did not get any phone call from the hotel concierge. Ii is indeed disaponted. I hardly miss the international fight.
Proximity to Central Quay Bland decor
Lovely room and great location. Upgraded, but that cost $60 per night. Nothing really, although room service meal was fairly ordinary.
The room No restaurant/breakfast in room
So central, could walk to a range of places. Easy to pick up a taxi. Can't think of any.
Staff were so nice and friendly and nothing was any trouble for them. Couldn't get shower to run hot; then shocked by the amount of water wasted in these showers.
Required a bit of updating/modernisation. A little shabby. Pictures on Internet decieving.
Room was clean and comfortable. Within walking distance to everything.
The shower was fantastic (really important) and the shampoo gel etc very easy to access.
I really really loved the hotels location. Great night life and close proximity to all the sights and hotspots in the Sydney area. It was easy to Get where we wanted to be by walking, or taxi. The only thing that I didn't like was when we checked into our hotel room, there was a McDonalds take out bag full of old eaten McDonalds food. It was gross
we enjoyed the shopping....the hop on hop off bus was ok. your desk staff were helpfull and pleasant on everything was all fine
The location was excellent and the view from the pool area great. Would have liked some pool towels available. The car parking was hard to find and very tight for larger cars.
Very centrally located! Excellent value for money!
Friendly and professional staff, lovely clean rooms and great location, close to all attractions but not loud or noisy at night time. The pool in the hotel is not heated, and as it is on the roof even though it was warm wather it was too cold to use. Also, we may have braved it and dealt with it being a bit cold however it clearly hadn't been cleaned in months as it was full of bugs, which ruled out us using it whatsoever. As this was one of the reasons we booked here it was a little disappointing, however not a massive issue really as we still had a lovely time.
easy access to the shops trains darling harbor circular quay food outlets easy for our friends to find have mentioned this one before but shower is rather small even for average person and the taxi service across the road
Amazing way to start the day with amazing breakfast buffet. Giovani is our favorite... Always helping and welcoming. A hard worker with excellent attention to detail The laundry staff needed prodding several times. There were never enough towels in our room and despite several kind notes to remind them, they were ignored. The dining room at dinner should be ignored, as staff was clueless for dinner... But that was transformed for breakfast, which was a highlight.
that we got up-graded and the buffet breakfast was so delicious
The food at the hotel is rather expensive....eat out, it's cheaper.
Location is good Staff was not very friendly
The hotel was within a reasonably short walk to the harbor bridge, yet also within walking distance of other attractions (like Chinatown which was a great place to visit during the Chinese new year festivities). In particular, the staff was very helpful. The concierge made a great recommendation for a hole in the wall (Chat Thai) and one of the women at the front desk went out of her way to help me plan things to do over my 3 day stay. I really appreciate that they took the time for me. The room was also nice (but it was the most expensive room I booked during my stay in Australia). My recommendation is to do your research and most importantly book early. After I booked I saw room prices skyrocket as I got closer to my travel dates, but that might have been unusual due to it being the Chinese New Year, or maybe there was some other event that took up all the rooms. I wouldn't have been willing to pay as much the room went up to but ~$250 was doable. Flights into Sydney from abroad must all arrive in the early morning. Every day there seemed to be a number of people waiting in the lobby as their rooms weren't ready yet. I understand hotels can't check people in too early, but it would have been great had the hotel been able to get me in before lunch. Instead I found myself roaming the city by foot for a good while.
Its location to the event I was attending, would be a great flocation for tourists
