lovely helpfull staff,nice live music.
loction, comfort, view, value for money Queen size rather than king siza mattress in superior room
Fabulous Hotel. Staff extremely helpful. Rooms spotless. In an excellent location 5 minutes walk from the Opera House, 5 minutes to main shopping area. We got excellent value as we were staying for more than 4 nights. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going for a break to the beautiful city of Budapest. It was very expensive for drinks or to eat in but this did not cause a problem as it is so central and there is a huge choice right outside your door.
This hotel was in the most perfect location! The Xmas market was right behind the hotel, the river and Chain bridge were about 2-3 blocks away, and the famous shopping street, Vaci uti was 1 block away. The rooms were so comfortable, and they provided slippers and plush bathrobes. The perfumed smell in the lobby and hallways was a bit overwhelming (luckily it did not permeate the rooms or it would have been a problem). They kept playing an Ad for their hotel on the TV which I found sexist and offensive (showing their maid taking a bubble bath and dressing in a lace thong before coming to work at the Kempinski hotel chain (what is that all about?).
All was excellent!
location, size of room, folks at front desk were very helpful
Given a free upgrade with great views. Fantastic location too.
The hotel is very nicely situated. The room (normal double) was pleasantly furnished (colours, materials) and spacious. Especially bathroom was both rational and impressive. The overall impression and experience was very pleasant. At the same time, the room begins to show minor marks of ageing; small stains here and there, desk somewhat battered. Tv set small/old fashioned and did not work fully all the time. The personnel is professional and helpful - yet more discreet than friendly. The fitness center was modestly equipped and small; hooks or lockers for bathrobe/towel would also be useful.
Staff very helpful. good sized room and value for money on the special deal we had Breakfast expensive
I have been planning to stay in Budapest for over a year now. It was really important to me that the hotel has an excellent location and I preferred the spa experience over the view of the Danube. However... Only my first day was I able to use the sauna. I was the one who had to discover that it is broken and over heating. I had a burn mark from the previous day and the next morning I discovered that the thermo meter is not working any more it was extremely hot in there and since they could not fix the problem they had to shut it down for the rest of my stay... I was disappointed since that was the reason I booked Kempinski...
central location, good quality no tea/cofee making facilities in the room and no bath robes
Virtually everything was great! Had no complaints.
location, view, fresh fruit at breakfast staff attitude, concierge service (great help with train booking) swimming pool, business centre facility smoking in the bar loss of upstairs piano bar since last visit about 2004 too much salt used in cooking e.g we couldn't eat the bacon
I stayed with family and we have very good experience and it was good advantage of possibility to access business center 24/7.
Terrific location, right next to Chain Bridge and less than a 5-minute walk to the edge of the main square. Gorgeous views of Castle Hill as soon as you walk outside. Easy walk to the bridge and funicular starting point. The room had absolutely no view; it just looked out onto other rooms.
I like best the service ans the breakfast which was excellent. The staff was very helpful and nice. Also, the restaurant of the hotel "Paris-Budapest" was fantastic! I did not like the difference in prices between the hotel's taxy and the local. Hotel's taxy takes more then double local price. Also the fitness room was really poorly organised. There were a few weihgtlifts and one treadmill, which was occupied all the time.
The stay was friendly and willing to help you to find your away around Budapest from transportation, restraurants, and night life. Great place would go back prefect location
Breakfast and location
Excellent! Nice location, fantastic view from our room.
The location is great, also the lobby and restaurant, lounge. I ordered room service in the evening and the first thing in the morning someone of the staff tried to enter the room to pick up the dishes, later they came back and knocked, first they tried to open using a key card, they woke me up around 8 am. Up to then it was all good, friendly staff, great location, maybe they need some extra dishes.
Location, room The concierge was not professional, not that friendly and tried to send us to the places she is getting higher commission from. It was very unpleasant experience. We had to go to the next door hotels to get the info we needed. I think that 5 stars hotel can do much better in giving its guests an accurate info.
Fantastic location... you can't get any closer to the chain bridge. Great room, friendly staff and very efficient service.
Excellent location and great breakfast. Concierge staff excellent, we needed to get a taxi to the country and she ordered the taxi then came out to talk to the drive to ensure he new where to take us. Check in staff not very welcoming, in fact he was on the phone for some of the process, didn't offer any information about the hotel, breakfast times etc. Only one pair of slippers in the room and two towels for a Twin room, called housekeeping to ask for more items to be brought to the room, an hour later they still hadn't brought them so had to call again. Next day no towels in room as they had run out, left a note in room to say they would be delivered but they never did. Obviously don't cope well if the hotel is full.
The lobby, breakfast, staff, location very close parliament and the metro. The beds. My husbsnd and I were on our honeymoon and were put in a room with twin beds. Also the room furnishings felt like they were all from Ikea. Still a fantastice place to stay.
not close to underground.
free internet, rooms, staff, jacuzzi all excalent same breakfast every day maybe sometimes they could change a few things on the morning menu variety
The hotel was well positioned especially for the opera house. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. There was no complimentary water in the bedrooms and the mini bar was too expensive. Although there was free water in the day in the lounge. The rooms were over heated and all the party had problems adjusting the temperature so in the end we all switched off all air conditioning and heating.
Great location, staff and service. High quality breakfast. Close to attractions.
Excellent breakfast. Fast internet access.
Innovative room below the roof, quiet despite being fully booked, nice staff around breakfast area, good selection for breakfast, frequent flyer miles were credited immediately after stay Non-closing door to bathroom
The Parlament Hotel is a lovely relaxing hotel where staff are very helpful and friendly
the road in front of the hotel was under construction
Very helpful staff.
excellent location..very helpful staff
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with service such as arranging for a dinner table in a fancy restaurant nearby the hotel after our late arrival. Just the rainshower in the bathroom couldn't get started and there was kind of plastic under the linen...
The friendliness of the staff and above all the location of the hotel was excellent. It is exactly were you want to be to be closed to everything. The price was very good - around 70euro per night. The hotel has a very very bad policy on breakfast. They overcharge you for it - 17euro per person per night - and even if you did not go for breakfast they still charge you! Then you have to actually go and tell them that you did not have any breakfast in order to remove it from your bill. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this class. I would reccomend to stay out of the breakfast room and check your bill before you pay it.
the junior suite which I booked was not so spacious as I expected, but it has one bathroom and a toilet. the staff. Very impolite. Maybe they are too busy to notice, because it looks like the hotel it is a transit hotel, not a leisure one, but still..At breakfast, very crowded, we finally manage to find a table shared with other people, we stayed longer than the closing hours for breakfast 6 30 to 10 00, and the method to get rid of all the ones which were eating still, was to move tables, and chairs very noisy. Anyway, they should extend the hours for beakfast till 11 00, for all ones which like to sleep more in the morning as myself.
Well located, comfortable, and a great bargain.
Great location for site seeing, metro access, the incredible indoor market, the Danube and the city centre/shopping. Don't be fooled by mention of an airport shuttle on the hotel details. There is no free of charge dedicated Mercure minibus running to an from the airport, like it does in other places. this actually simply means the hotel will book you an airport transfer on request. The airport has it's own shuttle service which costs about 3,000 Forint to the hotel.
The location was perfect. Parking was convenient. Everything was clean. Bed was comfortable. No complaints besides the price. But I think it was more expensive because at the time of our stay there was a big festival going on in the city.
Its very central, and on transport lines Rooms are very warm, and the overall decor is a bit modern cheap.
The location was the best thing about the hotel Noisy you could hear every thing from flushing the water and walking around or talking in the room
Located in central location close to everything. Room was a little too small. Would've enjoyed it much better if had a little more space.
Very close to shoping area and good in value for money The breakfast and service was poor
Perfect location, good service, English speaking staff, non smoking rooms breakfast and city tax has to be included
Very clean and comfortable in a good location. Conceirge and reception was very professional.
good location and staff was very helpfull breakfast buffet very bussy and presentation / choise acceptable but could be better
Location, obvious...the hotel is located on Danube's embankment, with a gorgeous view. The architecture of the hotel...it's ugly (this is my personal view.).
Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff The swimming pool was cold
the location!!!!!!!!!! everything was ok!
The staff were excellent, including the desk staff, bellman, doorman, and driver! They couldn't have been nicer! The location of the hotel is also first-rate. It offers an excellent view of the river and is situated close to many sight-seeing attractions. Smoking is permitted in the hotel lobby/bar. It made for an unpleasant entrance into the hotel. The bathroom in the room was small as well.
I stayed just one night it is therefore difficult to say any more
Location and quality of room. Excellent service from all staff. Price of breakfast was expensive; even for 5 star hotel.
Good accommodation and excellent dining facilities
Spacious room, great club lounge with nice selection of food and beverages Staff at reception rather unfriendly. Staff coming into the room despite 'don't disturb' sign on the door.
Location Room well equiped but a bit smelly... Old type of shower spraying everywhere, noisy but not efficient aircondition. Even when the price was relatively fine (thanks to early and non refundable booking) it is highly probable I will not return.
nice room, perfect location and excellent service from the staff
The best service I ever met in a 5 star. Very good cookery also.
Hungarian Night The business center was closed on the weekend.
The room and the staff. No
The staff were extremely helpful & did contribute to making our stay most enjoyable. Factilites & rooms are to be recommended. The location is good, near the river & a fab cafe in St Stephen's Square
Excellent staff, excellent service, good location
Location No parking or parkig is expensive.
Central position, nice room, very kind personnel Nothing
the hotel staff were very helpfull and friendly and the location is good for shopping this hotel needs a bigger breakfast room
Very clean, modern, great location
Location Breakfast is poor
nice room, good location, rich breakfast I had broken safe in my room
Steps away from everything...= Breakfast was great........... rooms to hot- no fresh air unless u turn on A/C- need of better pillows on bed
The location is unbeatable, right on Vaci st. The facilities are really new and modern, breakfast is also good. The only con is that most of the rooms face an inside patio, but the positive part is that it helps to keep the street noise away.
The location of the Hotel was ideal for a city break. Close to restautants and within walking distance of all the main attractions. There was a strange drain smell in the lobby.Breakfast room not really large enough for the number of guests.
The hotel is new, located in a very good position 1. Breakfast room not adequate, too small. In one occasion we had even to wait 10-15 minutes before having a seat. 2.I wasn't allowed to pay the bill with the Amex previously used for the reservation. 3. Inexperieced staff
We enjoyed our stay The barhroom size in the Suite was rather small. It could benefit from an larger bathroom etc.
Used the health club. Organised a city tour.
The location and view Staff was not that helpful
really good location for sightseeing. Nice big room and polite staff. Good breakfast. bathroom was empty: no robber, no flip-flops, only shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. For the money that they want it can be better.
A very nice view
Comfort of beds. Room position and views. Use of Executive lounge. Location for both shopping and tourism Mugs & milk for in-room coffee/tea taken by housekeeping & not replaced daily
Location. Useof the executive club. Views from the hotel Room cleaning staff were inefficient. One day did not clean room. We had to aske each day to have our room cleaned. When it was cleaned, it was done well,
With it's incredible view of the Buda castle, this hotel has the best location The building is old ; very small and ugly bathroom , rather adequate for a 3* hotel, no slippers or bath gown, no bidet. Not a 5* hotel, never go back again, there are too many other good choises in this beautiful city.
The convenient location and friendly staff. Yes, I believe the breakfasts are much too high. After all - continental breakfast -water(coffee) Juice and pastry- hardly merits $21.++
we did like the city tour and that the hotel is in walking distance to all we want to see. And of course the street with all the boutiques It was hot and the ventilation in the room did't help.
It's location was very good Despite we had reservation through "booking.com" they did not have this information. They arranged our rooms by chance.
Convenient location. The rooms were a bit overheated overheated.
No electrical outlets anywhere, if one or two they were hidden or out of place. TV was horrible, truly 3rd World....no stations, poor reception, only 8 stations. I stayed in room 2, horrible to find and really beat up facilities in getting there (up stairs, beat up looking open area. Front entrance was horrible, I hope your renovating this, guests could get robbed in this area
Location Prepaid for a guaranteed reservation. Arrived to the hotel to be told that they did not have our room and that we had been moved to a different hotel. We were then given a map and told we could walk to the other hotel or pay for a taxi. We specifically booked this hotel due to its location and were sent to a hotel 10 blocks in the opposite direction. The hotel we were forced to stay at was old, small, and dirty; it also cost less per night but we were never given any refunds. I have never been more disappointed.
There's is little to fault bearing in mind the good value offered. Staff were courteous and helpful, breakfasts were good and the location is excellent. The dark entrance and sixties decor in the reception could probably do with an update but this is a minor gripe.
Clean room and good breakfast Too many stairs for older travelers
It had a splendid view of the Danube river from the room. The lift was too small, could only hold 2 people at any one time. It was also difficult to locate the hotel when we first arrived.
Very friendly English-speaking staff. A nice, quiet place with a great location.
Ideal City break location but restaurant staff were too formal and stuffy, hence restaurant was poorly utilised by locals/gusts almost every night of our stay Restaurant staff were dressed as per 1950's -old and stuffy-yet restaurant is advertised within hotel as "trendy". Need to change,
it should be 2 star
The location of the hotel is very good. It is just next to the Vati Utca and so close to the Donau.
friendly and helpful staff, hotel close to the center/ in the center Standard rooms are old, especially the bath room in this category was not four stars. That the standard room is not renewed is not mentioned in the description
Staff remembering my name when checking in. Dining room was good for food - but the tables weren't cleaned properly between diners.
The art deco apperance to the hotel The breakfast was poor for the price
large newly decorated room, comfortable bed, excellent staff curtains are very thin, sun wakes you up at 5am. Road outside is very noisy
Service and excellent location
Location was good and staff were helpful. Nice restaurant. It is very noisy - with road noise and renovations. The beds are very uncomfortable. Asked for a king and got two mattresses pushed together which kept coming apart
Nice room, if small-ish. Good breakfast, good location. The concierge was excellent, very helpful.
Truly excellent breakfast buffet!
Size of the rooms. Very spacious and suites The cleaning service was not very thorough. It was necessary to leave to "please clean up room" and yet my bad was not made and the bathtub obviously not cleaned
Our room was bright, clean and had ample room to relax. The staff were courteous, cheerful, and helpful.
Excellent location, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Easy walk to the Christmas markets or the Danube. Great value for the money. The included breakfast was a little underwhelming.
Location, hotel staff
The location of the hotel is great. Very pleasant staff and the size of the room(s) is impressive! Everything is new, clean and with decent quality. However, the design is relatively poor.
The staff was helpful, the room was clear and comfortable, the location is perfect for those who want to visit the city.
As usually (we've stayed there some times before) - excellent on all dimensions - rooms are big & comfortable, staff helpfull, breakfast good
Great, front desk associates were most helpful. For a 4 star hotel they could of offer more of a breakfast that was free of charge.
Staff were very helpful - recommending local restaurants, booking taxi's and tours. The hotels location is excellent. I would highly recommend the hotel.
The staff spoke excellent English and they were very helpful in recommending tours The room was too hot. No way to turn on air. And the room smelled strange when I first entered; it was ok after I aired the room out
Comfortable, clean, good location, nice staff, oveall as indicated above. This was not my first, and I guess not the last stay in this hotel in Budapest Only Euro and Hungarian Forint calculated. No US $, and exchanges tare additional cost
Staff was very friendly and helpful, excellent continental breakfast including great coffee, fresh pastry, yogurts and fruits. Excellent location for tourists. Quality of bedding and towels - I think better quality would bring this hotel to a different level. Also carpet on the floors has dirty spots,
The best thing at B.H. Zara was the hotel staff, they were pleasant, helpful, professional. The reception area/lobby was designed beautifully, the toilet in the lobby was fine. I did not like the room, it was rather gloomy, stuffy, with window to opposite brick wall. The breakfast was ok, but having to queue for coffee (too small capacity of the coffee machine) was not nice.
Fantastic location, right next to the pedestrian street with lots of shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful as well.
Breakfast buffet was nicely set up, with efficient staff assist during the meal. Location is excellent and the room truly comfortable. Good design...reason, along with rate, for selecting it on your website. The free access internet for travellers without a laptop is one portable pc for use in the lobby. I thought this an inefficient offering, and proved difficult for staff who tried to share the pc around among guests...but with some difficulty.
Amazing location, great design & style, 5* staff
Best location, trendy hotel, very helpful staff
Staff is very helpful and pleasant. Great location: just off of Vaci street and Market Center, excellent location to be used as a base for sightseeing Budapest and only 25 min to the international airport. I stay here every time I am traveling through Hungary and only have a day in Budapest.
Location is right off Vaci utca pedestrian shopping street, completely tourist area, with overpriced tourist knick-knack shops. At least it is near to the Nagy Vasarcsarnok (Great Market Hall) which is a bit of a tourist attraction, and near to Szabadsag Hid (Freedom Bridge). Could hear people running around from the room above. No concept of customer service, concierge non-existent (just an empty section of the front desk). E-mails sent to the hotel prior to arrival were not satisfactorily addressed. Television channels missing on the first night, and tv interface is horrible - straight from 2005. Breakfast room very crowded, never enough seats. People were eating in the bar, on short tables due to lack of seating space. Food could be old in the buffet, dried out/stale. This happened on several days. Air-conditioning was tempermental - either too hot or too cold. Beds were cheap, made a lot of noise from poor construction - think cheap wooden slats for support. They temporarily lost the luggage I left with them the morning of checkout, they couldn't remember that it was placed in the overflow room just 1 hour before. An unnecessary headache. I wouldn't stay again - the Zara Intercontinental Hotel on Dohany utca is better located, and service couldn't be any worse.
Location, facilities, staff
The location of the hotel was convenient within the city. The hotel front desk staff is inexperienced. The hotel does have potential to be very inviting, but the young staff needs more training on hospitality and concierge services. This was a disappointment to us as new comers to the city.
The bed Parking place
Exceeded our expectations. Best location in town. Very central to everything. Great staff. Great breakfast buffet. Lovely design. Very clean!!!
The hotel is less than 100m off one of the main streets. But it still manages to be a quiet area. It is very close to all means of public transportation and within two blocks of one of the premier shopping malls in the city. The hotel staff was very professional and courteous without being pushy or in your way. Please note that this applies to all shifts and staff positions. The room I had was too small. There was barely enough room to walk around the beds. If you are on business and just expect to sleep in the hotel, then you probably won't notice. I would strongly recommend an upgrade. Your room size upgrades also
the economic rate and breakfast buffet
Great location, decor, theme, front desks English skills, courier arrangement was immediate, shower was high enough (I'm 6'3),Wi-Fi included, view from window, size of window/light, storage of luggage for a day after I departed, close to train station but very quiet perfect for my day trips and to the airport Wi-Fi was weak sometimes, breakfast was limited by not having a kitchen, single toaster etc Room was hot (spring heatwave) A/C wouldn't come on, 2 very nice tea bags I would have bought if it'd caught the name on the only two ever left? hotdogs for breakfast won't catch on for N Americans, prices were advertised many places all different, saw my rate cheaper signing out of my page on an ad..
I like decoration with ornaments very much, rooms are in warm sand colours, with lot of details that combine the whole impression Mini bar is too small with poor cooling, bigger wash gels bottles would be preferred
the hotel was very nice, well situated, staff very helpfull
room clean, TV last generation, near to the center soap was not changed everyday
It is an excellent place to stay in every sense. The staff was very professional and pleasant.
My husband and I spent 2 nights in Marmara Hotel. We loved every bit of it. City Center, breakfast, staff, clean, price. I can't name one thing which is against this Hotel. If I ever go back to Budapest I will stay here again for sure. We loved everything!
Immaculate, very modern and comfortable. Breakfast was excelletnt, location was excellent, very good value for money! The room was a little too hot sometimes and we had trouble trying to turn down the heating but not a massive problem.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location.
Not clean and very small
Great location. Nice design and very friendly staff.
Heating in Bedrooms erratic - too hot or too cold no controls to be found, also no safe in bedroom.
The location was excellent and the staff w ere quite helpful The carpets wre filthy both in the bedroom and the corridors. the breakfast was very basic and not worth the money. We booked a double room but wre given a twin
The hotel has an excellent location, near pedestrian zone. It is in a quiet street. It has connected rooms for families. The staff is very kind. And with very good rates.
extremely central, helpful staff, good breakfast rooms were fairly small but this was not a problem for us as we were out most of the time
close to main shopping area and few mins walk to river lobby very quiet work going on, no tea, coffee in room
It's conveniently located in the centre of the city, within easy walk to various places of interest and to public transports. No kettle in the room for making coffee or tea.
There are good staff, good location of hotel, I didn;t have any problem with check-in and check-out. Good buffet. It was very noisily- I headed all in the next room. The cleanliness was not good - it was dust on the furniture then I came to the room. Dirung my stay (5 dayes) cleane staff didn't make vacuum cleaner.
Location ideal, we consider it very good value
Excelent location and clean hotel! I have to pay extra and expensive for internet access and TV movies. Internet and breakfast should be included in price :-)
Excellent location. Five minutes easy walking to pedestrian and shopping area and to Vaci Street. Also, five to six minutes walking to the river Danube and to bridges (Lanchid). Around the hotel, there are a lot of cafes and restaurants. Young people from the reception desk were very helpful and polite. Good breakfast, spacious room. I think this hotel should be 4-star hotel. The only thing I did not like, was check out time at 10 a..m. It could be at least for one hour later.
The room & breakfast Bathroom shower in a low position. It is the first hotel ever that it is not at a normal high position where you can stand and have a shower.
Very central location. Rooms were very clean and the staff friendly. The air conditioning was not very effective. We turned off the air conditioning and opened the windows at night and found this better.
Location. It is very central
It was quiet and the location was great.
Location: very well/ staff: very friendly and helpfully/ room: large and nice (also very large bathroom)/ breakfast buffet: spoilt for choice and very good/ on the whole it was a very good cost effectiveness breakfast hours should be longer
Central location. Air con worked well for us (need to have all windows properly shut), but we did open the windows at night for fresh air. We asked for a non smoking room upon booking, but got a smoking room - that was quickly rectified though and all was good. Breakfast was a bit ordinary - scrambled eggs that looked like they were green? Shower based overflowed each time, but that is just yet another European drainage problem.
Central, but quiet location, close to the university within easy reach of the metro and major tourist sites. The air conditioning did not work and it was impossible to cool the room without opening the windows.
Excellent location, good breakfast and staff very friendly. The room was nice, quiet and clean. Inability to regulate the temperature of the room.
The location is very good, but above all the personnel at front desk were best I have seen in a long time. So Corteous and nice. The beds are very low and close to the floor, hard for older peolple to get out of bed. The Rooms need addidional furniture, no good chair to sit on to relax.
