location rooms are too small
The staff were very friendly and helpful and we had a free upgrade to a superior room. The location couldn't be better in Venice, right by the Rialto Bridge. Nothing
location poor view
Location was excellent, staff provided good recommendations
very good location smell in the room from the breakfast, and from cigarettes
the position was perfect right on the rialto bridge embankment, the cleanliness was superb, felt comfortable and safe, excellent breakfast. First impressions are of a very old and worn hotel, stairs and corridor carpets seemed worn , bedrooms are well kept and bathroom facilities are excellent which made up for the other more disappointing aspects.e
Hospitality Noisy area
breakfast open later alley way outside window was at times very noisy especially in middle of the night, people laughing, walking, restaurant workers talking loudy.
The staff was incredible. So polite and knowledgeable. The front desk manager (with I could remember his name) was the best we encountered during our two weeks traveling in Italy. It's an older hotel, but well maintained and updated. The location was ideal - right on the Grand Canal and close to water bus stops, and just steps from the Rialto Bridge. It's an older hotel, so there's no elevator but the staff is very good about getting luggage up to, and down from room. Would have like a nicer view, but also didn't want to pay for it. Thought the price was a little steep, but probably pretty average for Venice.
Breakfast, location, staff. Lack of internet. Price... but I know it's just Venice...
Tha barman Marco was excellent! Breakfast was basic and room was a bit too dark
Wonderful Hotel. Arrived hot and bothered but room was ready and nice and cool (thank god for a/c). Helpful friendly staff, very nice breakfast. We booked the Barbarigo for our anniversary and wanted somewhere classy and certainly found it here. Everything is clean and new looking, nice view from the second floor breakfast/bar area, there is even a table and chairs on the balcony for a more intermite meal! Get the Vaparetto to the S. Toma stop and head right, when you reach the little square with some glass shops and the rear enterance is tucked away on the right or alternativly get a private taxi to the front door!
Very intimate and unique.
Magnificent setting, luxurious room. Service was perfect, attentive without being oppressive. The best hotel we have stayed at in Venice.
Beautiful location, friendly staff. Poor bar service, slightly overpriced, but to be expected from the location. Only slight disappointment was dusty rooms with no air conditioning and very hot/stuffy. Apparently the air con is only switched on in summer.
The situation is very beautiful, and the table in the bar on the balcony is a wonderful place to drink in the afternoon. The breakfast is lovely. The room was very dusty, like it hadn't been dusted for weeks. There's no internet access in the room of any kind even though this is promised. "Most of our customers don't want it," I was told. Nonetheless it was promised & I wanted it. We had no hot water for showers: when I enquired about this I was told, "there is a fault," but no alternative was offered. One of the staff members I spoke to (not all, I hasten to add) was very rude and dismissive. He said that as I was only staying for one night these things shouldn't matter; also that as I had spent three nights at another hotel before moving to this hotel for the (what was supposed to me a much better) last night, that I should have stayed where I was. He was so right!
the staff was nice but not really aware of what was happening in Venise whereas we went there for the Biennale and the Mostra... They did not have any programme or map...
Fantastic location and excellent staff.
the bathrooms in luxury rooms fantastic . staff were so friendly and very helpful
This hotel was very close to st marks square and right by the ferry bus stop. This d'hôtel room was quite small and expensive for what was offered.
The hotel is very luxurious. We stayed in a junior suite which was fantastic, superbly designed and had great views of the canal. The hotel staff were very attentive yet very discreet. We would highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable, luxurious stay in Venice. You would need to get a water taxi to the hotel (expensive) as trying to get there by foot is extremely difficult and has no signs directing you to hotel which is down little alleyways.
The staff and the view!! The steps.
Location, location, location - perfect Stairs - way to many with luggage
It's a great little hotel. Small room, but very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was big and the shower was good. Looked like it had recently been remodeled, everything was in good condition. Breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. We've already given a business card to a friend and would definitely stay there again. The location was the best part of all - right on the grand canal. The stairs weren't a problem for us, but people definitely need to be aware that you have to walk up about 70 steps to get to the desk and the rooms.
Very good location. Close to Rialto Bridge and with Grande Canale view. Most of the rooms do not have the view but the breakfast room has. Room was clean, has large bathroom, has complimentary tea coffee facilites in the room(instant coffee and kettle etc), and amazing walls and furniture. Lastly lte hotel offers free wi-fi connection. If you are old or weak you may have difficulty climbing the stairs.
free internet The hotel was on the top floor of the building, some 70stairs, no lift, the hotel was averge, but I have no experiace to compare
stay in main area of interesting point of city
free wifi internet and clean rooms high price and low level brakefast!
The hotel was clean and most of the staff were quite helpful and friendly. The breakfast room overlooked the Grand Canal and that was quite nice. We didn't like that we had to climb so many flights of stairs with our luggage and it was on the top floor. It was also a little more difficult to locate since we'd come in from the airport and had to take a bus/boat to find it. On the hotel website, it only gets people to the main terminal, but it doesn't mention anything past that so we assumed that the hotel was in that location. This was frustrating, especially after hours of flying and then not understanding the language, where to go for tickets, which direction to go, etc.
the staff is good the location is not bad the price is good the room is very small ,was not clean with a bad smell ,there also a Mosquito which turn or stay to a nightmare ,the direction to the hotel isn't enough ,we were travelling with a back bag so they wrote in the web that buses # 14 and 23 will going to drive us in front of the hotel which is not true you have to walk for 10 to 15 mins. , the breakfast was very pooooor and finally the internet access is only in the lobby not at the rooms as they said i don't recommend it for any one
Good location, efficient and helpful staff, room excellent value.
small, personal hotel
everything having to leave!
Excellent, immaculately cleaned, comfortable rooms, helpful staff, centrally located. Could do with another english speaking TV entertainment channel, other than CNN, but I'm being over fussy here!
Location, staff, breakfast, cleanliness, beds
The friendly, personal service & the magnificence of the room. Very handy to Rialto & the markets. The women in the residence above clip-clopping about in her high-heeled shoes early in the morning.
The staff were really friendly and of great assistance. The room was really clean. Breakfast in the courtyard was fantastic.
The hotel is small & intimate, very few rooms. We arrived before our room was ready & the staff allowed us to leave luggage. The hotel is convenient to two water taxi stops. Good value for the money. We were able to stay in one room w/ a family of five.
room not in main hotel, felt like someones apartment, was large and quiet . breakfast sreved in room locatin was excellent breakfast was very limlted on sunday ,better on mon , fruitjuice would have been good. no drinling water bed struts fell out, we got bitten in bed
It was great and the location is superb. A 30 second walk from the Vaporetto stop on one side and a short stroll to the Rialto Bridge on the other side of the Hotel. Breakfast served in the room was wonderful. Breakfast needs more variety and some fruit. Also staff shouldn't argue for cash payment when they will accept Credit Cards.
The hotel is located within 3 minutes walk of the Rialto Bridge and right off the Grand Canal. The stay was reasonably priced -- a good deal for the accomodation and central location. There is no on-site hotel clerk. Check-in is via Skype by a clerk located at another hotel 5 minutes away. Our room was nothing fancy and could use some updating. The furniture definitely had seen better days -- especially new matresses as we could feel the springs on the ones we slept on. (Nevertheless, the room was quiet and we slept well.) The included breakfast consisted of a roll, condiments, a croissant and coffee -- all delicious but a bit skimpy. It was generally clean but not spotless. Overall, I would stay there again but my wife would prefer not to.
location, friendliness of reception breakfast: coffee too thin, no big choice, after 3 days boring
The location is very close to a vaporetto (water bus) stop, making it easy to get around, including with luggage, without needing to use the very expensive water taxis. The shower was incredibly tiny, so tiny that it was nearly impossible to raise my arms to wash my hair. Smaller than a phone booth.
Great location to Rialto Bridge and tons of shops and restaurants. Pleasant staff, willing to hold luggage before and after check-in. Small and off a dark alleyway but around the corner is a water boat stop which means no need to lug luggage over tons of bridges if willing to pay for the water boat. It is above a bar, and it was very loud and late into the evening but Sunday was quiet! Breakfast is very minimal. No elevator, but staff will help if you ask.
Good position. This is not a hotel. No service if you arrive after 18:00, only a phone number for emergencies and the guy on the phone was very rude, didn't want to help me at all. Breakfast is very, very poor - just 1 tiny croissant. Very loud neighborhood; hotel very difficult to find.
no bath tub
The hotel facilities where good. The room was appartment and overlook the square. The breakfast was simple but good. The location was right near the Rialto bridge shops and markets and was excellent for exploring.
Small place. Like all hotels in Venice. Too expensive. Not value for money.
Location was excellent. Day staff were very cordial and helpful, even upgraded my daughter and me to a suite. The night staff (front desk) was also doubling as a bartender in the bar. He was most unpleasant and made it clear that the five of us in the bar were a big inconvenience for him even though there was no activity on the front desk.
Very clean , great breakfast
wonderful breakfast on the balcony overlooking the Grande Canale and drinks in the evening as the bar is always open and cosy. A lovely room and very clean. loved everything
Staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, very much a family atmosphere. Wonderful complimentry breakfast buffet, loads of food to choose from. Hotel accessible via water taxi and prime site right on grande canal. We will plan to stay at same hotel again next year, hopefully for two weeks, to spend more time on the grande canal and to tour more of italy, a beautiful and friendly place. The hotel also offered free water taxi to the Murano Glass factory and to San Marco Square. No elevators to upper floors. Must be able to go up and down several steep stairs. We had plenty of help getting our luggage up and down so we had no problems.
Should learn to be more friendly and not so rude. Unfriendly atmosphere.
Very nice , helpul and friendly staff. The location is very convenient and the service excellent. The rooms were clean and beautiful.
Location Steps. Some steps were loacated in the middle of the room.
The location is perfect - sitting on the porch right on the Grande Canale with a drink after a long day's walking around in Venice is a treat. The room was large with enough space for a family of four. It is difficult to find when you first look for it.
Quiet location, but easy access to main sights. Breakfast overlooking Grand Canal.
The location was away from the crowds yet convenient to the Vaporetta and other sites. The staff was not very knowledgeable about the area.
Historic building, good breakfast selection - super breakfast room - get there early to snag one of the two tables on the canal front balcony. Front desk and breakfast room staff are friendly and responsive. Was upgraded for one night - nice to ahve a larger room but required a move the second night. I booked a single room - advise to get a double as although fully functional, the single rooms are tiny. My room did have a view over the side canal though and large windows in the sleeping and bath rooms!
Great location on Grand Canal. Suitably quiet neighborhood, even though close to almost everything you want to see in Venice. Friendly staff (offered the upgrade to bigger twin room for our teenagers at no cost).
We thought our room was beautiful and thought the size of the hotel was just right.
Hotel was ideally placed for sightseeing and was very clean and comfortable. I would definatelyuse again.
We absolutely loved our stay at GiuliettaRomeo, the room was great, breakfast was excellent, staff was always very helpful, location is very central and you can easily walk around to all the major attractions and also to the waterbus stops... loved it, will recommend it to our friends and family that travel to Venice, and will stay there again. It exceeded our expectations. Nothing! Just keep up the great work!
Beauty of rooms with mix of very contemporary facilities and location.
The location Very poor service, average room setup/ deco, relatively loud at night
The staff at the hotel went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We would have liked access to a hotel computer to use at our convenience. The staff was very helpful and let us use their computer to send a note home but one in the lobby for our use would have been nice.
The room was good, staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good. The lack of a bar in the hotel.
The interior of the hotel was beautiful and the location was ideal Yes, we booked a double room with a bath and when we arrived the only room available to us was a twin room with a shower, the hotel staff were very unhelpfull and we had to stay in the twin room for the first night and the second nite we were moved to a double room with a shower only, still no bath. On checking out we paid the full quoted price for 2 night b&b for a double room with a bath. Most disapointing!
The continental breakfast was served to the room. Staff was very friendly.
location staff is not trained enough, I was expecting more considering level and price.
only breakfast 1-very old, dirty room walls, dirty bathroom curtain, diryt torn towel 2- 5-10 min wail too bus station 3-no safety box(although it was in hotel facility in booking.com) 3-very expensive for the hotel condition.I recommend take your hotel in Lido more take at least 3-4 star hotel in venice. 4-wind of hair dryer was cold! 5- storage luggage is behind reception! 5-the girl at the reception can not understand english! 6-noise from rooms nearby 7-location in a very narrow alley
Location, Comfort, Fairly helpful staff, although unwilling to provide cup of tea to weary travellers.
location is ok; small bedroom but with a big bathroom; very quiet; it's clean. breakfast is simple; my bedroom is too small;
It was the best choice value for money i found. Located almost in the Venice heart, at quiet alley and not far from Rialto. Staff very kind and helpfull. Breakfast was good.
The location is ideal, you can see the Rialto Bridge from the Hotel. The breakfast selection was great and the atmosphere on the Grand Canal was lovely. Room 301 the tippy top room at the top was a bit funky, there are spiral stairs and it was very difficult to get the bags up. The view from the room was worth it, but for older people, people with heavy bags or weak spouses ;), or people with children this is not the room for you.
Very clean and hotel in excellent position could try harder with breakfast bit more selection
Great location next to Rialto bridge. Traditional Venetian decor. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Great view from breakfast room
location was perfect rooms were tiny, beds were also tiny!
Location neae Grand Canal and quiet room
The position of the hotel was excellent. The view over the Grand Canal from our room was a delight. We could watch busy Venetian life during the day and the lights at night from the comfort of our room. The staff were very helpful and friendly. As far as we could tell, there are only 2 (of 19?) rooms with a view over the Grand Canal it would have been very disappointing not to get one of them. The breakfast was OK but lacked fresh bread/croissants.
Lovely view overlooking Grand Canal & Rialto Bridge from Breakfast Room. Very centrally located.
Very good place. Easy reachable by vaporetto. Kindly staff. Nice and clean room. Lovely sight on Grand Canal. Short walk distance to anywhere
The location was perfect! Walking distance to everything and some great little restaurants right outside the front entrace. The first restaraunt by the rialto bridge was very tasty!! Staff was also very nice and considerate (not your normal Italian service). Make sure you upgrade as the small double is truly small! Also, if you are a light sleeper ask for a room that is not on the side street as the voices echo.
Friendly staff, nice location, good breakfast, charming hotel and best value.
It was the best priced private room we could find in Venice. Breakfast was good. would only recommend this to anyone who wants to have a private room but doesn't want to pay too much. The (in room) shower was clean. The price was too high for what you got. We paid the exact same for a hotel in Berlin and it was much more comfortable and modern - it at least had air con. The air con in the room in Venice didn't have any temperature no matter which way the dial was turned. There was no wifi in the rooms. The bedhead was dirty! but the sheets were clean.
Location of the Hotel is very good One person of the staff was not very nice. But in general the people were nice. The rooms are in a relative bad condition. The furniture is old and sometimes dirty. The price is extremly high. But the rest of Venice is equally expensive.
I have heard that finding a nice room in Venice -- particularly one that is reasonably priced -- is difficult. This place was terrible. The room was horribly small and frankly -- dirty. I had to have the place cleaned once I checked-in -- as the bed was unmade and there was a pack of tobacco and rolling papers. It smells. The shower curtain was covered with mildew. And it's loud. I've slept in cars on the side of the road; it was preferable.
The location is excellent - close to a "major" vaporetto stop (lines 1 & 2), 15 min by foot to San Marco. A lot of mosquitos in the room; not so critical for adults, but for small children it's better to avoid this place.
location: very easy to find the breakfast was very poor and the timing very short (from 8h00 to 9h30)
They allowed us to use their internet connection to print a boarding pass since all internet points were closed on Sunday. Well, the most prominent was pulling down the bedspread on the double bed to find a half-eaten sandwich stuffed in between the pillows. There were also long dark hairs on the pillow of the single bed (we had a triple room). They clearly only pretended to have changed the linens. This was the worst example, but it was generally a slovenly, claustrophobic and unpleasant place, with an indifferent staff at best (even by Venice standards).
for reasonable price (for Venice) you get a good base for wandering around the city. We stayed for 3 nights and didn't experience any discomfort.
location, staff being helpful
Very Friendly Staff and the breakfast was decent for Italy
Great Location. Charming old furniture. Breakfast was average.
The included breakfast
Our hotel stay was fabulous. The owner, Adriana, is extremely friendly and well-spoken in English (as well as Italian and French!). She provided lots of food for our breakfast, as well as plenty for a snacks. We could have espresso every morning if we wanted to! Our room was comfortable, and our bed even had what felt like a memory foam mattress topper. When we arrived early from our cruise ship, we were able to get right in to the B&B and drop our suitcases before heading out on the town. Our room was even ready, and she was more than happy to let us in (and we even made use of it for an afternoon nap!). The view of the Grand Canale was so charming. Shopping is easy access, and it is only a 3 min walk to the Rialto Bridge! The only thing is that the door handles/ door locks are very loud as they turn. So, with another room next to ours, we could hear when they went in and out of their room and the bathroom. But it is not a big enough problem to keep us from staying there again.
Beautiful room, queen comfy four poster bed with a view of the canal, Minutes from Fish Market, Rialto Bridge, Vaporetto stop. Breakfast room is cozy. Bathroom was sparkling clean.
The view from the hotel is very good. As well as the breakfast.
I liked the fact that there were only four rooms and the staff there were amazingly friendly and did everything they could to help us! the fact that we had to share a bathroom with four other rooms but that was only because i was bursting for a wee one morning and had to wait because the other rooms had some sort of tag team going on to get into the shower!
Alex, the owner of this B&B is very helpful. His room and breakfast are very great too.
Excellent location with great view of the grand canal!! close to the Rialto station and restaurants. Friendly service from the owner... good coffee/espresso machine! This is not a walk-in BB. The owner is only at the BB for a window of time, I had to wait for the maid in the AM to show before checking in during the afternoon. No way of contacting staff if owner's away. Suggestions: 1. shower curtain 2. have a phone in house to contact the owner
the perfect location and the view on the canale Grande the was no separate toilet. The shared bathroom included the shower and the toilet. This can be inconvenient.
everything, from the staff to breakfast to location everything actually. i'll visit this hotel again for sure. nothing at all, only they don't clean the room in the morning , mayby becauce we closed the room ??!
We stayed here for one night and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The double rooms with a shared bathroom were spacious and had a great view of the Grand Canal. Breakfast was awesome and was lovely out on the balcony. Also had a bag storage facility which was good too.
