Clean and tidy no problems except the TV was a bit dodgy. TV
We are an American family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children under 3). The location was great since we were 2 minutes from the underground/subway and a short walk to the University campus. There were plenty of eating options all day, including nice restaurants and cafes, but also a pizza shop and a sandwich shop. Parking was easy and cheap (on street for 4BP/day). The street was also quiet and the in-room fridge was useful for making lunches etc. for our kids. We were in a room next to the front door of the hotel with poor sound proofing to the reception. Our bed was very uncomfortable; we felt every spring and it was noisy. The shower was a bit sporadic in temperature. Simply, the room felt cheaply decorated and tired. Regardless, we'd probably stay here again (but ask for a different room if available) since it was a good location and a good price.
The location, comfortable bed....and decent cooked breakfast.
The hotel was warm, comfortable and welcoming, the staff attentive and the breakfast couldn't be faulted
easy to find, close to where i needed to be, clean, friendly
Friendly, comfortable, good breakfast
Very close to central Glasgow
Very comfortable. Lovely location overlooking the river Kelvin. Quiet inspite of being very close to Gt. Western Road. Very convenient for Underground station.Full cooked Scottish Breakfast very good!! On street car parking is a bit congested, but we always found a space nearby
Lovely room, nice and big, very clean Staff could be friendlier
The staff were very friendly
I have stayed there before, the staff were as always friendly and helpful and this time I even had hot water in the shower. the sound insulation is not the best, later in the night I could hear the couple in the next room being intimate, so I will definitely book this hotel again next time I am in town :)
convenience of location friendly staff noisy at night at front of hotel where my room was.
The staff were friendly and didn't make you feel that you were a bother at any time. I also liked the fact that the only people in the bar area after midnight were residents (with or without friends). I was a bit shocked at the variance in the price as I stayed for 2 nights and couldn't believe the hike for the Saturday, felt this was exploitation.
The hotel staff at reception were very helpfull, due to the short stay in the hotel as l was having to catch the first flight from Glasgow to London l was unable to use the hotel facilities.
large room breakfast was not an option on booking
Lovely room - we were upgraded to Junior Suite from Executive Room. The Collage Bar in the corner is fantastic - the layout, staff and food just excellent. Champagne cocktails in the Atrium Bar are worth coming back for. Car parking arrangements are poor. Didn't expect to arrive in the snow, have nowhere to park at the hotel and then have to pay £30 for parking elsewhere on the weekend.
the hotel was lovely, it was our silver wedding and the hotel mad it very special, room was beautiful and breakfast was amazing thank you loved it
Really modern, contemporary decor. Very attentive staff.
I was there for a black tie function and found my stay and function most enjoyable. no onsight parking.
it was central for shopping
central to all facilities and easy to get to
Room was very comfortable and the bar has a nice atmosphere Nothing
Hiltons are always a great standard
We were on our honeymoon & treated very well. There was no hot water in my room after 7pm.
nice spacious rooms, good gym and very friendly staff
I was very pleased with the size of our room. The Car parkng is inadequate.
The Hilton has always been a favourite in Glasgow, but is a little tired and very expensive compared to new competitors in town. I do like that the staff are attentive and helpful, but not more than you would expect in a friendly city. The £4 tray charge for room service is unnecessarily high and the in-room refreshments a bit mean. Even at a great discount, the room charge was more than 50% higher than half a dozen other good hotels.
The central location and the great breakfast
Staff were friendly and food was good. The hotel itself was clean. Made a mistake of asking for a smoking room. Expected a slight aroma but the bed and pillows were so smelly my wife was unable to sleep !!
its all you need for a break every thing under one roof car parking was terrible
the room was spacious and clean the food in the bar wasnt brilliant
The hotel was very clean and modern.Facilities were great and breakfast was good.
Facilities and decor of hotel excellent The walls are so thin I could hear "everything". I hardly had any sleep due to the noise from other people in the rooms next to me.
The location of the hotel and the quality of the room No soap in either of the dispensers and one of the shower sliding doors was not attached properly
Clean, lovely bathroom(only toiletries was a large soap dispenser!), close to main centre Breakfast although cooked fresh was cramped, tea & coffee was out of a machine, dining area was shared with the open kitchen area. Website says check-in from 1300, we were told 1400 on arrival. Our room at front- woken by bin men on tuesday morning, and by compressor on delivery van on the wednesday. On going for breakfast the delivery was stacked in the hallway. Returning to hotel on first night greeted by pile of laundry bags in hall outside our room, which remained there till morning.
The room and bathroom where very clean which is really important to me and the location is good. Staff friendly and helpful. No shower gel in the showe gel dispenser. Breakfast looked good but was a bit bland and by the sound of all the dings in the kitchen I think was completely done in the microwave.
Very comfortable and nicely decorated, pleasant staff. No ironing facilities in the hotel.
The staff at the hotel were very polite and helpful.the room was good value for money with a superb breakfast in the morning.
Very friendly and attentive staff, espeially Micheal. Great breakfast. Convenient location and amazing value for money None
Was within walking distance of The Stand Comedy Club which was purpose of visit
Well placed with convenient parking, friendly staff, and excellent breakfast and good value for money. The room was very cold on arrival and until the heating had been switched on.
Modern The room we were in was a little small
the room was very hot and stuffy, could not open windows to allow fresh air in
Clean, modern, central, efficient, well-priced
The refund we got due to the complaints we made. If anything? I didn't like anything about it.
Location was great, five minutes from Central Station and very close to everything else The hotel advertises a carpark, and when i checked in I got really vague directions to find it (apparently it's round the back somewhere) - I couldn't find it and had to park elsewhere, which cost a small fortune!
Location Quite noisy
Glasgow city just around the corner---the Cathedral. Hotel staff very helpful.
Breakfast excellent. We were close to the 12 o'clock limit but staff showed no annoyance and .were so helpful, even putting out freshly cooked bacon etc at that time. Twin room a bit small but still value for money.
it was very central for the shops etc and bars
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent, making this hotel good value for money for a short trip to Glasgow. It was also close to the town centre, but far enough away from a main street to make it reasonably quiet, The hotel was a little shabby and in need of a bit of updated decoration.
even though it was in the city both my wife and i had a great nights sleep , but feel your breakfast time to finish is to early ,i think ten oclock is a better time , but enjoyed my time there and would recommend it nine thirty is to early to finish breakfast
The relaxed buffet style breakfast, the closeness to the city centre, the comfortable beds and friendly staff.
nice receptionist, working elctric ketle, creaking bed after each movement, noisy toilet tank,
I asked for a ground floor room, and was out right up in the attic, I did not feel the staff was helpful at all, as I have a heart condition this meant that I didn't come and go as I would have liked, I was not offered any recompence for this either.
the check in staff were very helpfull and friendly, a short walk into the city centre, breakfast was very good, ideal for one or two night stay
I liked the location of the hote in the centre of Glasgowl and the food for breakfast. I did not like: a) the shabbiness of carpets and upholstery and the damaged furniture; b) unclean room, especally the bed linen and the towels; c) the behaviour of hotel receptionists who (with one exception) were not as helpful and kind as might have been expected
the fact it was in a good location yes, the room was very stufy, the hotel was quite old and had no elevator - had to climb 4 flights with very heavy bags! obviously nolt suitable for disabled ppl
Friendliness of staff. Ability to open window for fresh air Although hotel now 'No Smoking' my bedroom still smelt strongly of cigarette smoke - enough to keep me awake at night. Room could do with a lick of paint to freshen the facilities.
location, staff, food, no
The hotel was close to the train station. The hotel room was very outdated and could have been cleaner. The hotel is way over priced for what you actually get. It is also close to a bar that has very loud karaoke. The price of this hotel should have been at least half of what we paid.
Politeness staff, good breakfast, excellent central location
It was a bed for the night, and handy for Central station. Public areas have obviously been refurbished, see below re rooms. Room was adequate if sparse. Put off however by old fashioned shutters on window which did not swing right back so that they protruded into the room, and only net curtain. Made room dingy. Room had been redecorated, but not to a high standard and parts seemed unfinished. Duvets were flimsy and only just covered the beds. Breakfast could have been hotter.
I stayed in a deluxe room once before and found it to be good but, being a 2 star hotel, I was expecting the single room to not be so great. I was pleasantly surprised. It was very comfortable. I slept well. Breakfast was good. It's not the best hotel in the world but it's great for the price. The TV was tuned in on channels 4-9 instead of 1-5 for some reason.
The location was good and the staff was friendly. The room was not very clean; and most unfortunately it was mainly in the bathroom. The toilet had not been properly cleaned. Also the shower head needed tightening; when turned on - water spouted in nearly every direction making it impossible to not make a giant mess. The pillows were flat and the mattress was stiff. I'm not picky about these things as long as they are clean - which they appeared to be.
Great location Nothing
Central location Not able to control the heating as it was chilly in our room and there was very very very little room to get passed the bed to the bathroom. Ironing board broken and iron leaked water.
Central location. Clean and comfortable. Good value for money
The room was clean and comfortable. We had a three bedded room and there was enough room for everyone.
The cleanliness of the room and how warm it was. Bathroom radiator did not work was like an ice box.
staff were very friendly and helpful situation was exellent
Convenience Breakfast was poor quality and not all hot items were available.
The temperature in the room was quite high and we couldnt get it low enough.
Well positioned for all facilities offered by Glasgow City We would have liked a lounge/bar facility the reception area being small meant having to always go to the bedroom.
Very cute decor in clean, spaceous rooms. Well stocked free mini bar in each room. Also, the 7th floor lounge was a great feature with cozy chairs, free internet, computers, bar and snacks. Only a short one block walk from Queen St train station, easy even with our luggage.
Room was great & reception staff very helpful.
All staff were extremelly pleasant and helpful. Great central location None- no problems at all
The location and the size of the room were excellent for the money - I will stay here again and recommendto others.
The room was very nice No car parking, the nearest car park was a 5 minute uphill walk. The breakfast was very poor. I had to ask the same girl, who didn't understand english very well for coffee 3 times. I stayed for 3 nights and had to get the room keycard re-activated each day. It was the first and last time I will stay at this hotel
Central location Parking facilities
Friendliness of staff Noise from extractor fans outside building.
This hotel was rated 5 star on your web site but doesn't merit this rating, either for the facilities or for the dining room - 4 at a stretch. We are compparing it to the Balmoral in Edinburgh, also reserved through your site which is definitely a 5 star.
Location in centre of glasgow and convenience to get to places lack of parking faciliities
The hotel is very central and very close to the town centre. We were there with friends and i can say they were more than happy with the facilities at the hotel. I don't have anything to say on this as we were all very happy.
The proximity to Glasgow centre and all the amenities we were looking for.The ice machine is a nice touch.
Location Price of breakfast - we like light breakfast but no option for continental package so we ate out to avoid the high breakfast charge
Although i requested a smoking room all were taken staff very helpful and arranged for ashtray many thanks
Room was exceptionally clean and comfertable and to get parking in city centre a real bonus
Good location near the town and Renfield centre. Good food. I stayed in room 221, this room was draughty and sounds from outside came in as the window seemed poorly insulated from sound/draughts. Previous rooms i stayed at here never had this problem.
The lobby is nice and modern and the staff were friendly/helpful. Appreciated the free WiFi. The room felt like a nice hostel, not a 4 star hotel. This location is 2 blocks from the nightclub scene so it was very loud with people shouting on the streets and cars revving their engines. The water closet was very plain and the toilet paper quality poor. There is no pool/whirlpool/jacuzzi. We booked this room at a discount rate, thankfully. Had I paid full price, I would not have been happy with the full-rate and the quality of hotel. This is more like a 2 star hotel.
It's central location I think the price of breakfast is expensive, I've had better for less, otherwise it ticked all our boxes.
Hotel was modern and very clean. Staff were also very friendly. Gym facilities were advertised but no weights section existed. As such I was disappointed to not be able to do a workout as planned. It would be useful to clarify this on the website I.e. Call it a cardio gym.
Convenient, clean, quick check-in and check-out, lovely shower Pillows were uncomfortable
Close to everything...only a walking distance to great restaurants and shops, the hotel is very nice...modern decorated and clean. I also liked the icemachine on our floor. The room we stayed in was a little narrow..and it would have been nice to have a fridgerator in the room to keep cold drinks in.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the club lounge for a quiet compliementary drink was great I did not find anything wrong with this hotel
Very central Breakfast not too hot
I stay at Millenniuem for it's central location, friendly staff and good atmosphere.
Very convenient and central. Very near station. Great value for money. Efficient and friendly service. A little noisy from station
I enjoyed the caring way the staff cared for everyone, nothing was to much trouble for them. No complaints at all.
,Reception staff were very ,helpful and this is an excellent hotel. This is the second time I have used it I think that £16.75p is far too expensive for a full breakfast.
The location was superb, the staff friendly and the room comfortable. The shower was excellent- one of the most important things in a hotel! The room was perhaps a little bit dated, but having said that, very pleasant.
I loved the whole experience. You couldn't find a more convenient location. It was a bit overpriced.
Comfy hotel in a central location. Not being able to get a taxi via reception. Was recomended by reception staff to go to taxi stand at queen st station where we waited 50mins for cab. Would rather have waited in the hotel. Have always been able to have a taxi pick up at any hotel we have stayed in before.
Great central location. Helpful and friendly staff.
Clean and comfortable rooms Lack of remote controls for the tv
staff's friendliness and location
location really slow internet connection, strange noises from the bathroom
Very friendly and excellent location
The location and the quiet room The room was very small. The front desk area was cluttered
The clerk at the desk was very personable.
Location, ease of check-in/check-out.Value for money. Minibar not stocked.Double room a little short of space.Poor service at breakfast.
the staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly the double room was very small, and both rooms were cold when we arrived
Friendliness of staff, comfort of room and decent food. Brilliant value for money. Car park a bonus
Had a good rate for a large comfortable room. Swimming pool.
location was excellent no tea/coffee making facilities in room over £10.00 to get it in your room
Good size double room reasonably well appointed with good provision of room facilities and very comfortable. Content with stay - nothing not to like.
Clean and tidy Wireless internet wasnt good enough
The location of the hotel is great! The staff were friendly and our room was nice. The leisure facilities could definitely use some renovations. The changing rooms, steam room, and general pool/leisure area were not very clean. The Jacuzzi was not working when we first arrived, though it was available for our last day. I would definitely consider staying here again if these facilities are improved.
The Staff were very welcoming. The swimming pool and sauna were just a nice size and the hotel was generally great. The price of the breakfast.
It was a very nice hotel but the shower did not work the shower in the room did not work
Handy to bus station Fire alarm going off at 4.10am! Bathroom quite small and old-fashioned. We had executive room which was clean but Thought hotel rooms would have been more modern. Hotel positioned further away from restaurants and pubs than we thought.
The location was good, within walking distance of the shopping centre. The swimming pool was great. The room decor was dark and very dated and the shower control was loose on the wall. The whole bathroom made me feel terrible and I didn't touch the bath and the shower during my stay. (Instead, I used the swimming pool shower) The sofa chair in my room was dirty and I even didn't put my clothes on it. My bedsheet was not clean with two small stains, so I had to call them to change it. I was not happy about the room overall and didn't think it's worth the money I paid. I am not going to stay there again.
Very comfortable. Staff at reception friendly and helpful
Nice swimming pool, excellent breakfast. Pool closed shortly after 6pm on Saturday evening.
the only problem i had was when given our key noone explained how to use it eg that we had to leave it in the slot to work the electricity maybe to some people who use hotels a lot this is common sense but for my daughters and myself who were having a little treat we didnt have a clue we had to work it out for ourselves it would have been nice if they had just taken a few seconds to explain when we checked in.we bookerd online with my mothers credit card but paid in cash when we checked in the man asked for an extra 20 pound but did not explain what this was for i had to ask later as i thought i had just made a mistake in reading the details we had it would be a good idea if the staff didnt take it for granted that we all use hotels regularly and know what to do.
the cream for the coffe was 1 month out of date, and the bath had not been cleaned...hair stuck to it all over.
Marks Hotel is very central and walkable to most of the city centre. Hotel is lovely and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Plan to stay at Marks Hotel again very soon No complaints at all - rooms, restaurant and staff splendid
the location for shopping the triple room was a good size the hotel was excellent value
the staff were very nice and the food was very good, the bar prices were a bit on the high side. only 1 person on reception so you had to wait a while at times.
The hotel has a great location and is easy to find.
The location Old room
would like to have known how much breakfast would have been, never saw anything to say but ther was information on other food.We ended up somewherelse incase it was too expensive!
My sisters and I were in Glasgow for a shopping weekend and have stayed in this hotel three times now. It is brilliant that they do triple rooms which are very comfortable. We had a meal in the bar which was very good. Staff could smile a bit more.
The Comfort & Location The fact that you cant smoke in the comfort of your own room.
Location - very close to the bus station as well as the center of the town. Nice large bathroom. Good continental breakfast with fresh fruit. Rather limited space for clothes and bags.
Freindly reception staff, Security card needed for lifts as well as rooms difficult parking, no obvious drop off area
Staff nice & friendly & helpful, food & drink good. Not having its own car park, Plastic security card casued problems getting in to hotel external door. (INo problems inside hotel)
The room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. Didn't like the way they had changed the cereals from the boxes to a dispensing machine ..they also had stopped supplying grapefruit segments but other than that it was fine.
Location The room was cold and it would have been nice to have room service and fresh towels even if we only were staying Friday-Sunday
The room was very comfortable, just what I expected The breakfast was a nightmare, the room was to small to hold all food cabinets etc, people bumping into each other as there was no elbow room to move being a buffet breakfast serving yourself was difficult, plates to put your food on were in sort supply and ran out at times, no where to put your dirty dishes or trays after eating, so they were dumped on other tables, this stopped other people being able to get into the dinning room, so a queue formed out in the corridor, this breakfast experience I will not be repeating.
Proximity to the bus station - staff helpful and receptive to changes / requests.
A quiet relaxing time - not noisy at all.the Cleaning staff were very helpful and did a great job. Great location for shopping and touring. I thought that the reception staff could have been more pleasant. The cleaning staff were great - good job and so very nice - a credit to the hotel.
The hotel was very clean and the Staff were exceptional - nothing was a problem for them and they were always friendly, courteous and helpful. None
it is very comfortable and very convient to the train and the city centre the carpets are a little shabby
Excellent service Room was lovley great way to spend a relaxing weekend with my partner for her Birthday
Good breakfast, very nice and modern gym.Swimmingpool is a plus even though a bit worn and shabby. Small room, no refrigerator in room, not much storage place for your clothes. According to hotel policy at booking.com extra beds where available for children or adults, but that showed to be wrong. Maximum two adults per room was the answer I got when I contacted the hotel to get a confirmation of my booking (but they fixed it for us anyway). We also got a hotel restaurant bill on our room even though we didn't eat there. Despite the fact that we reported it to the reception right away and they promised to fix it they didn't do it. They also messed up the tray fee for breakfast on the room, but we managed to sort everything out at checkout.
Very nice staff - all very efficient and friendly. Nice room with huge bed and 6 pillows for one person! Well stocked bathroom. Refridgerator did not work. Floor heating in bathroom would have been nice.
Beds were extremely comfortable It was a long way to walk to my room
Excellent location and although not the cheapest it still offered excellent value and the rooms were very comfortable and tastefully decorated all was first class
Very well run, comfortable hotel,Good food, friendly staff. None that we could see.
Very pleasant staff and environment. Clean and comfortable. Queue for breakfast was extremely long at around 10.00am. No low fat spread at Breakfast. Pretty minor really.
The staff where excellent, The large coloured gentlman who greated us for breakfast was perticulary frendly
Extremely comfortable bed.bedding and pillows
need more secure room locks
room was generally comfortable with separate bathroom room noisy especially at night due to heating system and vibration through the radiators
Very near to University, to Kelvingrove museum and not far frome center of town.
good comfort in relation to the price some noise from the street
very clean very noise and rooms small
Very helpful and friendly staff, breakfast, restaurant and bar was welcoming and tasty, room was clean and consistently serviced and cleaned. The fan in the bathroom of our room was too loud, and the soap they used smelled a little odd. Very small complaints, really.
relativly central to Congress Center Small room in souterrain, window was not able to be opened wide, quite noisy, old furniture, quite ugly appearance over all
friendly staff, location, value My room was musty.
The proximity to the SECC - the two are internally connected, therefore removing the need to go outside. Great in the winter time. Didn't realise we had to pay for parking. Only £5, but still a surprise
Location No teletext on TV
Great location. Ideal for SECC and Clyde Auditorium as well as both city centre and west end. Perfect for business people too.
Perfect location for the SECC. Staff all friendly and helpful.
Clean, spacious accomodation. Additional charge for car park in a non- City Centre location.
1. Ease to SECC. 2. Breakfast 3. Pleasant reception staff 1. Exceptionally poor quality bread at breakfast - better at Premier Inn!! 2.Breakfast staff looked most unhappy. 3. Bedroom windows couldn't be opened for air and AC too loud.
The hotel was lovely and clean with very helpfull staff and easy acess to the secc for concerts I didn't like the fact it had no windows to open, during the night it was very warm I felt I couldn't breath with no fresh air getting in
hotel to concert to car park all under cover excellent
Excellent location and views. Staff attentive and helpful. Parking was free. Good breakfast choice. Wine was pricey. If we'd have known we were so close to the IMAX cinema and science museum we'd have visited on the wet weekend afternoons, but there was no information and we didn't find out until we were leaving.
