Location is fabulous, hotel overall was top-notch. For the price of the room the hotel nickel-and-dimed every additional service, not the case with other Egyptian hotels we stayed at (60 le perhour to use a ping pong table! additional fees if you want to use the lights on the tennis court!). Beautiful pool was not enjoyable to use due to no heating. Taking the boat to the hotel guarantees requirement for 2-3 extra tips to various porters along the way.
Staff was very helpful! Relaxing atmosphere hotel is not in good shape taking a ferry to get to the hotel not convenient if you're just staying for a night to go to Abu Simbel food was expensive and poor
very nice hotel with tremendous views of the nile river all was good
This was a beautiful hotel on its own island that was only a few minute from the mainland. This was the best hotel during our stay and is suited for couples or families. It has a large tower restaurant / bar that provides great 360 degree views of the Nile and Aswan. Its priced are affordable and has it own mini shopping mall. It quiet, no hassles and we would stay again without hesitation. No problems.
A great location to escape the hassle. The staff were extremely helpful, I booked a surprise meal with champagne and birthday cake for my partners 40th birthday which the guest Relastiosn Manager and Catering Manager made extremely easy, and they even sang Happy Birthday when the cake was brought out, excellent
The hotel is on an island between Kitchener's Island (botanical garden ) and Aswan proper with a stunning view of the river, the river traffic but away from the poplution and the noise (or most of it). Spacious grounds and facilities. The seats everywhere were uncomfortable as if chosen from a catalogue and no one trying them out before buying. The WIFI service was expensive but, more important, totally unreliable: I paid several times without getting anything in return.
The views from our room were fantastic, the friendly maid who cleaned our room, they let us check-in early this was fantastic and the check-out process was quick and easy. We booked a one bedroom chalet and were given a double room. The food was mediocre, the pool needs cleaning more often.
The island location is wonderful. Pools are very nice, breakfast buffet is excellent.
The location and the hotel swimming pools The food was disastrous
Room size was quite big Hotel and rooms were very clean Pool still under construction / refurbishment (but still open) Choice of food in Buffet quite limited and not top quality No help with baggage on departure No as promised breakfast box in lieu of buffet breakfast due to early checkout Phone in room not working
Location, location, location! The bathroom was flooded upon arrival. The shower sprayed directly onto the floor (tub was away from the wall and there was nothing to catch the water). Room service food was cold, not much selection and pick up of dirty dishes comes within 6-8 hours (happened twice). The staff was pleasant, not overly nice but pleasant. Bottom floor suite with two broken sliding glass door latches.
the nice surroundings, being on an island with lots of flowers and trees around Even at a 4 star hotel the porters have there hands out for bakshish. They need an extra attendant at the pool. The pool is too deep.
Excellent peaceful location within beautiful grounds and with two great pools on an island in the Nile yet with easy access by regular ferry to town. Not enough staff available at breakfast buffet to clear and reset tables and replenish items on the buffet.
Very nice location. Staff very helpfull. Good breakfast Limited view from the room.
The setting-Aswan itself is a very pretty setting. Just note that you have to take a water taxi to and from the hotel. At times the diesel fuel smell from engine is a bit much.
I didn't like anything, absolutely anything
It was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful Nothing
Staff were very friendly and helpful, much better than the 5 star plus hotel we stayed in Cairo. When our returned flight from Cairo was cancelled Asmaa and Marwan went out of the way to help us with their personal phone to call the airlines, just great small rooms but then it is a 3 star hotel
Nile view room. Good front staff at day time. Demand of tip. Night front staff offer costly transfer to airport. Sometimes elevator did not work. Noisy air conditioner.
Although the employers did their best, I cannot say anything that I liked during my one night stay at this hotel. There is no maintainance of the hotel facilities, therefore everything is old and not clean. The food was reasonable to good.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location on the riverfront overlooking a park. Excellent Nile sunset views from the rooftop terrace. Nice room and very good value for money overall.
The rooftop terrace, proximity to train station and souks. The lock on our patio door did not work and when we complained about it, someone came up to our room and put one on. It was ridiculously overpriced for what we got -- even compared to other hotels we stayed at in Egypt -- but that probably was because we were there right after Christmas and prices were inflated due to timing. Staff at front desk was not very helpful, except for one guy. Many people go to Aswan specifically to go to Abu Simbel (as we did), yet the people at the front desk were unable to provide us any information about how to get there or who to book a trip through -- we ended up wandering the streets until we found a travel agency that we could book it with.
Fantastic room with balcony, with awesome view of Nile. Rooftop terrace fantastic. Location great - near train station, Souq, and Nile. I do not have anything that I did not like about the hotel.
The location was good. But, it is the only nice thing of the hotel. The room an the entire hotel was not very clean and, most of all, when you check out, you may have to be ready to pay the total cost in cash. When I was checking out, the creditcard mechine didn't work (I guess they falsified) and they asked me to pay by cash. The price was 308 USD for 2 nights. But, they show us the price in EGP in much higher exchange rate. Fortunately, we had enough cash in USD. Otherwise, we had to pay in EGY, which was more than 340 in USD.
Employees are very friendly, location is nice with a nice view on the Nile Hotel is old, requires maintenance. Small rooms.
The location was probably the only decent thing about this hotel. When we finally got into our room - i wasn't surprised - it was what i would call 'egyptian' clean. The floors were unclean - no bare feet here......the bathroom was disgusting - hair everywhere, suspect drip marks on the walls around the toilet, and the back of the door was black with dirt. Even better - i checked the bed - hairy pillows and when i pulled back the covers - there was a huge blood/ faeces stain on the sheets. Complained immediately and asked for the sheets to be changed. However when we returned to our room 7 hours later they still hadnt changed the sheets. Guys on reception thought it was hilarious. Also no hot water for the first day.
the staff were pleasant and the foyer impressive. the bathrooms were very tired with no shower curtains and fan held up with string, also they were none too clean could scrape the grease off the soap dish. Air conditioner very noisy. Generally run down except for foyer.
The view from my room and the pool Restaurant
The location was not good, far from city central and nothing around. The frequency of shuttle service was low and returning time to Hotel had to be informed individually. The rate seemed to be high considering the location and service.
I contacted Helmy Mourad at the hotel to help arrange transporation to Abu Simbel. He was extremely helpful and arranged our transporation. Room just had basic furnishings with hard bed but all of our hotels had very firm mattresses. Restaurant was not that great.
Excellent service, wish we were informed about the shuttle to shopping when we booked. Also it got quite chilly in the bedroom at night. Staff and the managers were very polite and helped as much as they could in their power. Thanks a lot for the lovely stay.
The hotel has very nice Nile river view. But the service was very bad. There is one restaurat in the garden. That restaurant was really crazy! The restaurant made very noisy music from 23 o'clock until 2 o'clock(midnight). I couldn't sleep completely until finish the music! The hotel has a tour for Abu Simbel. The price of tour is too expensive. It was double normal price. I can't recomend completly the hotel.
Many f the rooms have excellent views, we were lucky to get one. The restaurant is decent. The staff was ok, sometimes, other times awful. Their excursions were on the pricey side (but we liked the one we did: Abu Simbel) The place did not inform us they were cash only, and checkout took forever. The location is kind of far away from town.
Free bus to town To far out of town, about 3 times overpriced, wifi didn't work, air con in room stopped working
great experience , nice location
I say. I forgot a bag with all my money and passport on the premises in the dining room.It was found when I was on a trip. Our driver was telepohoned and I was infromed even before I realised I misplaced my things. Saved a lot of nerves and basically testifies to a general honesty.
The amazing vue from the room The room is ugly and was not clean. There were hairs in the toilet and bed. The breakfast is a joke and miserable. The water od the swimming pool was ice cold. The hotel is way to expensive, and offers nothing special, but a lot of bad things.
