great location at reasonable price. Friendly & helpful staff and clean rooms. older style hotel with minimum facilities
Nice hotel central to Hobart. Cheap and comfortable.
great value mini bar, surprisingly classy rooms & facilities, friendly & helpful staff. some traffic noise on 5th floor
We were happy with all aspects. The dining room value for money and quality of the evening meals. The dining room staff were very helpful and gave an honest accurate assessment of the hotel. I felt they were an asset to the hotel and should be appraised. I was a bit concerned about parking but found a spot on each occasion.
Very pleased with the food provided and the helpfulness of the staff and their interest in offering advice when requested. The outside traffic, but you can't do anything about that and we had no real problem with it.it
Strategic location & free car park
Well mannered staff. Comefortable rooms. Dining is excellent value.Note, we used to stay at Wrest Point - you do it equally as well.
Easy access to harbourside and CBD, restful.
The hotel is central located restaraunt and mini bar prices are very resonable. the rooms are very comfortable and staff are very helpfull.
Convenient, quiet, easy access to city shower - impossible to control water temperature - either too hot or too cold . Need additional parking
Good position, close to Salamanca Place, the harbour and the concert hall. I wish a single room was half the price of a double.
The bathroom facilities were great, beds were comfortable, there was no noise from the outside despite being close to night spots. Staff were exellent and very helpful. Nice big room even with three people. Tried to park the morning before, rang up to confirm and was told it would be fine, but at that time of the morning the only parking available were metered spaces. Not a problem for me but might be for an elderley couple.
Very easy and quick to access rooms from the streetfront. Very quiet compared to most hotels. Very close to the waterfront and to the restaurants at Salamanca.
I liked the location and it wasnt far to walk in to the centre of town. There were great places to eat near by.
Central to all that we wanted to do and see
we are regular patrons of this hotel. It is ideally situated for a visit to Hobart.
Locality to the city and surrounds
It was well located near the Salamanca and waterfront areas. Quiet despite a pub opposite being very busy one night. It was one of the blandest, plainest room I have ever stayed in - reminded me of a student hall of residence. Not a place to linger- but functional.
This hotel has poor ventilation, It was stuffy. I suspect it has "Sick Building Syndrome" a condition where carbon dioxide, paint and plastic emissions acculmulate due to poor ventilation.
Its proimity to my conference venue
The location was ideal. Price was reasonable for the amminities offered. The motel is old and rather run down. There is no one at the front desk. We were given a room at the top most level from which the view was nise but, with no elevator, we had to carry the luggage up four flights of stairs. The room was relatively clean but smelled musty and old.
location and clean presentation of room no complaints
location location location location location location location.......... The smell of the room. It smelt strongly of some cleaning product that was not pleasant, yet it was persistent. Even with the windows open it was hard to shift.
Easy walking distance to city. Cleaning of room not as good as it could have been. The bathroom sink and surronding counter was not washed the two days were were there.
Even though the hotel had no record of our booking and was fully booked, they worked very hard to make sure we had a bed each night.
suitable for a family with reasonable busget, close to shopping, nice beach and mountain view small
We were allowed privacy but the staff were very helpful if we had any queries.
Whilst motel was reasonably clean,it was pretty basic & outdated. It was early sixties style,we got wet trying to open the external door ,as the locks were old fashioned &and were very difficult to open, thus as it was raining we were fully exposed to the weather, which resulted in us getting wet. There did'nt appear to be anyone on duty after eight thirty P.M. and we had to enter the building though the heavy duty steel door, which obviously doubled as the fire escape, however to be fair the owner was telling us he had only recenly taken the motel over, and that he intended refurbishing in the short term. I think I could get better value elsewhere at the moment, but I would be prepared to consider staying there again after the re-furbishment.
I liked my stay and my room, which had lovely views.I liked the area it was in, and its claeness to shops , parks etc I didn't like the way the room was cleaned. On a number of occasions, the table wasn't wiped clean and milk wasn't refreshed. The road outside was quite noisy.,
Its close proximity to Salamanca When we arrived for 2 nights we were asked to move rooms after the first night, we refused but obviously someone else had to move, the rooms need maintenance.
