Location is close to the central station
a wonderful hotel, close to everything, a great experience
The location is almost perfect and the stuff are really friendly. The breakfest could be more optional but that's fine.If you go to Copenhagen ,you can freely choose Plaza and ask for the room with Tivoli view.
IT WAS A VERY GOOD PRICE AND LOVED THAT IT WAS WALKING DISTANCE TO TIVOLI, THE TRAIN STATION AND HOP ON HOP OFF BUS. STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL. LOVED THAT THE BUILDING IS OLD BUT VERY WELL KEPT UP. IT RAINED THE FIRST DAY OF OUR STAY ! :-)
Staff was great, breakfast was amazing, and the hotel was in the perfect location. Good value in central Copenhagen.
Location Not really
Warm and cosy athmosphere in the building, helpful staff and good breakfast. Noise from constructions outside. Shower over bathtub could be better.
Spacy room Cold room. heating didnt work.
Very comfortable Hotel, selected primarily for its central location and proximity (and ease of access) to the Main Railway station and Tivoli Gardens. There was a lot of construction work in the immediate vicinity of the hotel resulting in some noise and disruption.
service, location room very small
location rooms needs to be renovated asap.price compared to quality is very high.
Just a block from the train station, comfortable beds, good continental breakfast. Room was pretty small and Spartan, no suitcase stands or toiletries, very few power outlets especially near beds. No air conditioning and heater did not work. Midweek price was way too high--I wouldn't pay more than $200 out the door...
Staff was great in every way that a professional and friendly staff should be. No real dislikes, just meager breakfast buffet and somewhat small room.
convenient location carpet had been torn out of hallway on the entire floor that I was on giving a somewhat bombed out feel to the place
Great location. Close to central station. Great service from the front desk. Good breakfast. Some rooms require to take few steps of stairs with no ramp. Not good with big luggage (or elderly).
location Room 331 had a foul smell coming from the bathroom.
close to station no water in the room
ample breakfast buffet, but lousy coffe. dobbel bed too soft, type hammock feeling.
Very near to the Central Station. Breakfast was good with price in mind. Receptionist was friendly. Old and narrow space.
Located in the "cheap hotel district" this is exactly what we were hoping for from our stay! Terrific location (next door to the main train station), clean hotel, nice staff with easy check-in/check-out process, and a breakfast buffet that gives you a little taste of what the food will be like! Enjoyed our stay! Rooms are small which we knew. Also, buffet does get crowded as others have mentioned but would recommend for a fine spread of bread, meat, eggs, and some fruit! Would also recommend bringing your own soap/shampoo.
The staff was helpful and I liked my room. We came in the middle of the renovation of the lobby, and it was a little inconvenient, but as I said, the staff was very helpful. I had to be in a wheelchair, and the elevators were small. Otherwise... all went well.
Star hotel is great for family, location is very good and the breakfast is good also
room was comfortable and had good selection for breakfast. didn't like not having trea and coffee making facilities in room
The breakfast was included and was slightly above basic. The wifi was good. The location is very convenient to Kobenhavn Central Station, so if you have a late or early train, this is very easy to get to/from. The bed was hard. Otherwise, a nice place for one night.
Good value for money,good location
service was as expected Only the sofa bed!! which dipped in the ;middle and was better for only one person.
location - near to the central train station The hotel is old and decrepit. No wifi - they give you just 10 centimeters long cable for only one laptop. At night pimps and prostitutes scream and fight just under your window - and noone stop them. The elevator is unbearable slow. The breakfast doesn't worth to get up for so early. The safe in our room was broken.
The Location Not so good breakfast
The location is amazingly central: 3minutes from København H (main station), The hotel is pretty cheap, Rooms are tidy and clean, Staff are mostly helpful I couldn't operate the internet connection on my laptop (no idea why as everything was ready to be used), The shower pipe was broken and therefore useless... (so I had a bath instead though!!), TV-set was great but there was no other british channel than BBC entertainment nor any French channel (though, I didn't stay much in my room)
The hotel was comfortable, clean and at very good location, helping this way the tourists to discover the city.
Dsl access in room no
Hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from central station. Reception staff very efficient and friendly.
Friendly helpful staff.
Breakfast was nice and hotel staff are very friendly. When I opened the curtain I felt overlooked from next room. Bathroom was very small space.
I loved the staff and and attention. Service is excellent. You are very accommodating. Breakfast was quite good as well. The courtyard was incredibly noisy both days, so I did not get a proper good night sleep. The heaters have to be better regulated since if u do not open the window a bit, even with heaters off, you suffocate. There should be a mini fridge in each room. This is an essential. Non negotiable.
Silent.Good atmosphere. Lack of hooks in the bathroom
staff friendly and helpful it stank in the room
just location of the hotel room size: I ordered two rooms in this hotel. Both of them were with same price. One of them was normal room and another too small for that amount of money. Where were no shampoo or soap in my room. I was asked to take shampoo at the reception by myself. And many other problems...
The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the hotel close to the city centre. The room was a bit worn down, but clean and working. Breakfast was not impressive at all.
The only convenience was it's close to the main train station. The room was very small and most of all the bathroom stunk. There really was not a seperate shower so, if you like showing on your toilet then this may be the hotel for you.
Nice boutique hotel. Good location. Clean. Simple breakfast. Friendly staff. Walls a bit thin. Can easily hear neighbors and people in the halls.
Very friendly staff, location close to main station (10min walk) and local shops and bars. Rooms simple but clean. Bed was very comfortable.
The hotel is perfect, it is very boutique in a great location, the staff is very wonderful! The included breakfast is yummy as well. The walls are a bit thin but it never got too loud, just the occasional loud door shutting and so on was a bit off-putting at times.
Hotel staff are very service-minded, and my family/I sent flowers to her / them for appreciation. Standard especially for floor and bathroom er poor
Good location with helpful staff. NO
Hotel in very central position. Staff very pleasant. Room comfortable and good size. No complaints
It was very handy to the railway station, just a 5 minutes walk, and near to some good, well priced eating venues. The staff were excellent, and there was a guest computer with free internet-great for checking emails.
This hotel has a great location, next door to the main train station. Every other facet is below standards. The room was tiny. The policies absurd. They even charged us $20 each for the "complimentary breakfast". The dirty, tired room featured a fun game: guess the mystery furniture stain. They sell this property as upscale...the only thing grand was the price. Almost everything, except location.
It was tired, dirty, and desperately clinging to some sort of old prestige which has long passed. Good location though. Dirty, fairly abrupt staff, needs redecorating.
Old rooms with a very need of renovation. Very small room. Toilet and shower seperate to each other and very tight
All good, location & great staff.
Location is very central, close to Central Station and Tivoli. Breakfast is excellent! The water pressure in the bathroom was very low. The location of our room in the hotel was a bit complicated - we had to take two different elevators and go through many corridors.
Very convenient lo Central train station. The hotel needs major renovations. It's not been maintained well. Wi-Fi was spotty in my room, would come and go. Room felt like it hadn't been updated since the 50's or 60's with the exception of the flat screen TV. I've never seen a hallway that has "hills". The hallway went up and down and that was just odd. The walls are paper thin, it was almost as if there wasn't even a door to my room, hearing people in the hallway, etc. Very low water pressure and the shower head needs to be replaced. My bathtub drain wouldn't drain water until it filled up a few inches and then started to drain (not sure how that works). It did it twice.
Being in walking disctance to most of the sightseeing points. The breakfast was excellent, most of the staff very friendly and helpful. I first expected a lot of noise, as the hotel is on a main street with a lot of traffic, but it was really quiet in there and you also didn't hear a lot of noise from the hotel. The room was small and for two persons there was only one comfortable chair to sit on (plus one chair at the desk). The shower curtain is kind of ugly, it is not heavy enough to stay at its place and so it bothers you the whole time when you are showering.
The location was perfect. Very central. The staff was extremely helpful and the bed was very comfortable. Good value for money.
Friendly staff and clean hotel Next to a building site. "Hotel" felt like I was backpacking and staying in a youth hostel. No bar!
The cleaniness of the hotel rooms and the model shower area! The hotel do not have hot water or kettle available.
It was very clean, modern and comfortable. Close to all tourist attractions. excellent The window could open a little bit more =)
The room was clean and very functional in a modern hotel with several elevators and the price was very good The hotel is a little removed from the center and there are few restaurants close by.
modern and clean Limited food / bar facilities
The staff was extremely friendly and competent. The hotel is new (as it was just built) so everything is in top shape, and very beautifully designed. The room was very comfortable, and you feel very safe there. Another plus, are the computers with internet that are there for the guests to use for free. The rooms are a bit small (there is no closet for your clothes, but a drawer under the bed) and I was disappointed that they make you pay for the locker you need if you have a late departure.
Modern standard. Good large bed. Internett available free of charge. Friendly staff. Rooms are too small. No closets or adequate desk. Poor air condition (gets stuffy fast). The breakfast was a complete failure; poor quality of food, inadequate facilities, lack of cups and utensils etc. Nice design does not make up for poor quality.
very close to the center of the city phone in the room, small brush missing. room for 2 people too small
New, clean hotel which is very price worthy. No extra charge for foreign credit cards, which is too common in Denmark. Plenty of parking lots nearby. Reasonable walking distance to city centre. Some noise from the rail road close by (my room was in the 7:th floor), Limited selection of food at breakfast - although it was low price (60 DKK). Rooms are small, but OK just to sleep in.
Air conditioning is bad Breakfast is bad Noise level in room from outside is loud Employees are not friendly
Close to the central train station (10 minutes by foot). Everything is new. Price is correct for Copenhaguen, but still expensive. Bad welcoming of the employees. They only accept danish krones. Rooms are quite small and the last stairs are still under construction. The area of the hotel is a large construction site. I would only recommand this hotel to someone who looks for a cheap hotel.
Staff's service and attitude. I also enjoyed breakfast buffet. Water did not go smoothely to a shower drain.
availability of facilites of leisure centre (swimming, cafe)
we liked swimming pool alot. good variety of diving boards which ive never seen before in any hotel. not a good variety of food which we would eat at home but the pasteries were good!
The location poor standard compared to price
The room was quiet, despite being near the railway station. Our best hotel so far in Copenhagen (we tried 4 others already).
Good position, very quiet and reasonably priced for Copenhagen
free access to the swimming pool It was difficult to find the entrance and reception of the hotel, which is part of a larger sport and leisure activity center. More suited for leisure than business.
Room standard poor Breakfast very poor
location, cleanliness ...
Central located in town Very noisy, bad aircondition (if any)
location is wonderful, in the city just 3 mins by walk to central station. heating system seems to be not working..
Very quiet - great sleep
Location Long cues at the lobby counter
Comfort and location The bar coult be nicer
That the room was very nice, the beds was really good and a good location. They did not know that we were coming, could not find our booking even if we had the bookingnr on email. The price included breakfast, but both nights we stayed the could not see that we had paid for breakfast and when we were checking out, they wanted us to pay extra. It was all solved when they saw our booking on email, but still ruined a bit of a nice feeling. Our daughter tried to call the hotel for over 45 min, then she took a taxi to the hotel to meet us (still on the phone waiting for them to pick up). We tried to call for more towels and could not get through.
The staff is really friendly, and the room is clean and comfy. The hotel location is great, about 7 minutes walking to conpenhagen central train station and Tivoli gardens, 13 minutes walking to the main shopping district (stroget). Just outside the hotel a big shopping supermarket (LIDL) is about to open so you won't have any problem getting your domestic needs. The Hotel is a known chain which has about 45 branch throughout scandinavian countries, so be sure that this hotel has a reputation to build and maintain. To sum it up, we had a great time. The rooms have these old boxed TVs!, i thought these TVs have gone extinct! for a 4 stars Hotel they all should be replaced with an LCD TVs (which i'm sure are not expensive to get). There are about 16 TV local channels besiedes BBC entertinment and Discovery channel which are all dead boring to watch, a dish should be installed with some movie channels instead of the boring cable channels. The wet room in the bathroom is nice but it is seperated from the rest of the bathroom with only a curtain, taking a shower can be messy sometimes, isolating the wet room with a glass door is more modern like and more hygienic. One big double bed cover is better than having two single bed covers!
Please write at least 15 words No bathtub
We stayed in room 264 and it was noisy both from next room (a door between the two) and also from the garden if the window was open.
The charge for internet connection was too high a day cost what I pay for a month. It should be free!
The location was ideal-close to the Tivoli Gardens, the train station and hop on/hop off buses. The price was excellent. It is a little noisy due to its location in the heart of town and the trains that run nearby. However, it wasn't a major issue for us.
Fantastic location. Great room, we had the corner room on the 3 floor. Staff super helpful and informative. The train station is steps from the door. The door is the 'Oldest swinging door in Copenhagen'. NO
The staff and location. Tea available in the AM. The sheets were top sheets and kept coming off during the night. The pipe from the sink was leaking and wasn't fixed when brought to the attention of the staff. I also like having a fridge and coffee/tea available in my room. they don't have this.
Good hotel, great staff, good breakfast, non smoking...
I had requested a room with twin beds when I booked on line, when my niece and I arrived from the UK we were told the rooms only had double beds, my niece was quite dismayed. The receptionist was very helpful and moved us to a room with a larger bed. I found her very professional and helpful. I also enjoyed the food, the buffet in the evening and also the breakfast. The main complaint was that the fire alarm went off at 6am and we weren't informed in anyway if it was a false alarm or not (as it turned out to be) The main complaint was that the fire alarm went off at 6am and we weren't informed in anyway if it was a false alarm or not (as it turned out to be)
The free evening snack buffet Too little room and staff in the restaurant when it got crowded during the breakfast
Good location, the hotel extremely comfortable, fresh and modern. Breakfast excellent as was early evening supper. Also appreciated free tea and coffee that was available 24/7. Although the location was good there is a bit of a seedy area getting from the station to the hotel, just need to be a little cautious when you first arrive until you get your bearings. Saying that we were not hassled in any way.
Location - 5 mins walk to central train station - 10 mins to Tivoli Gardens
Not luxurious but more than ok- great location , easy access to sites. Across the street from a strip club, towels well worn.
Very close to the train station and all sorts of attractions. The staff was very friendly and helpful (especially Martin at the front desk). Excellent value. Evening buffet was a bit light, but I think that's a Danish custom. It was nice to exposed to that. I would gladly return there. Not applicable
The location of this hotel was great. Two blocks from train station and Tivoli Gardens. Yes there was a strip club across the street but neighborhood was fine and safe. Excellent helpful staff and nice breakfast. Can be a little noisy on the street. Get a room facing back. Expensive, but so is everything in Copenhagen. Paid more for a fancy high-rise hotel 20 minutes away but the location made this one much better.
Best value for money hotel. The light menu was also perfect
The location was fantastic, easy walking to Copenhagen attractions. It was clean, friendly, quiet, and a good value.
Good lokation. Exellent breakfest and evening buffet.
First and foremost the staff. What a bunch of nice and because of that efficient people. The location is also tops. Surrounded by like-minded hotels and bars. Yet a mere 3-4 minute walk away to the central station. The basin-cum-shower arrangement of my rather small room at first looked uncomfortable, you definitely need to plan your shower accordingly not to make a mess. Yet it turned out to work just fine.
Nothing, starting with corner prostitute
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The hotel doesn't have 24h reception, you really cannot arrive later than 10 pm. The shower was fitted into a closet.
Good staff, breakfast, position. Possibility to rend bicycles (30€ a day). Nice room.
The room was very small but in all fairness this was mentioned. Bed was good, lots of properly working tv channels (nice) and a good choice of breakfast. All in all good value for money. The bathroom was okay clean but the toilet could have used an extra brush up.
The brekfast was good. The bathroom was very small and the beds are poor.
The hotel staff was friendly and the hotel was good value for money considering its location (within walking distance of the centre)
The staff was very nice and helpful, the room was very clean. The room was tiny.
Location Soft beds, small familyroom
The hotel's location was great. Close enough to walk to Central station, but just far enough away from the touristy and seedy aspects of it. It's right in the hart of Vesterbro with great bars, restaurants and cafes within a 5 min walk. It's located just off the main street so it's quiet. The staff was very accomodating. When we found 2 single beds in our room, we requested a room with a Full/Queen bed and got one right away. Breakfast buffet was good The rooms were a little small. The bathroom and shower was very small. WiFi not included in room price. 10 AM checkout
Good location, comfortable beds
Location The room was really really small!
Free internet, free wifi
If the Scandic had been rated at 3stars I would have accepted the quality emmanating from the facilities however after paying 1690DKK for one night i can't help but feel cheated! It was rated a 4 star however the bathroom supplies were paltry.....the bathroom was old, dirty and all the supplies they had provided were a lux dispenser to be used for both bath as well as handwash....disgustingly enough there was mildew on the dispensers....the shower curtain has never been washed and the tiles never scrubbed........yuck!!!
It was nice to have a free internetaccess in every room. The people working there were nice, too. Don't look under your bed ...
The staff is quite friendly, the center is close by car, the parking is free at the hotel, otherwise the hotel is very close to Sydhaven train station. The hotel wanted to charge the price every day, however I paid it at the beginning of my staying! The staff said, it was because of the authorization, whether I had the whole amount on my account, however if I had already paid earlier, why did they need any authorization. So it was quite strange to get messages from my bank, that the hotel wanted to charge the price every day (or twice per day).
Free WIFI in the room. Good breakfast buffet. Easy to reach by car, and train station around the corner (2 stops to the centre). Beds too hard, children's bed in 'superior family room' is in fact the unfolded stiff couch without separate mattras. Shower only separated by a curtain, splashing the entire bathroom floor wet.
Internet connection The hotel is not a 4 star, the bathroom possibly a 1 star, reminding me of my military days.... The room size is OK but the windows small which is good as it limits to look out at the building site surrounding the hotel. The choice of international TV channels is very narrow and there is no coffee/tea maker in the room.
The location is good for travellers by car. The hotel has free parking and it is easy to reach from the highways since it is located a little bit outside the city centre. Breakfast was excellent. Additionally I appreciate the ecological theme of the hotel and the floors with clean parquet instead of dirty wall-to-wall carpets.
Good place to stop if you travel by car. It's not far from town center, but less traffic. Food not bad, but expencive.
promixity to business park, comfortable bed, free wireless internet, free breakfast the scandinavian wooden floors and thin doors which in all makes the room very noisy, carpets are maybe not that hygienic, but they sure muffle other peoples sounds better
The location was great for a first time visitor, and the breakfast buffet was very good as well. no air-conditioning
I liked best the breakfast. Plenty of food and tasty as well.
It was a great location for sightseeing, especially for the Tivoli which was in walking distance. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the reception staff very helpful!!! We were able to walk most everywhere. No
Excellent staff and breakfast Broken kettle in room and tea/coffee machine in lounge on arrival
very good breakfast and good personnel in the restaurant, we also had a good package with Tivoli included
The location to everything was great...just down the road from Tivoli gardens
The good location, the brekfast is good and the staff is nice. The interior of the reception and the brekfast room is good.
Very helpful staff and very nice dining room and breakfast options. Also, very close to station and central Copenhagen. My room was a little cold and utilitarian
the breakfast, the location it needs air condition, better windows for noise isolation.
Wonderful Stay. Cute room. loved Copenhagen. The breakfast was amazing (as other reviews have said). Would stay here again! The shower was so small. I could barely wash up without touching the tile wall or shower curtain (and I'm not a big person!). Also, the shower (due to the way it's designed) gets most of the bathroom floor wet.
It was a nice room, clean, comfortable, friendly staff, great breakfast, and convenient location. N/A
Clean, comfy, nice rooms. Good location, right near main metro but in a quiet area. They put us in the Annex rather than the Hotel-- so shared bathrooms and shared shower for 20 rooms (instead of the hotel's usual private bathroom). We had booked via kayak for 'hotel' at their lowest room price ($96), but there was no mention in the booking that it was just for the Annex, so I felt downgraded without notification-- the price was a bit high for a hostel (but not totally unreasonable-- the place is very nice). The Annex is more like a Hostel and was fine for 1 night, but probably not useful for folks who want their own bathroom.
We stayed in the annex, Absalon City Hotel's cheap section. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is walking distance to everything in Copenhagen, especially Tivoli Gardens. Part of staying in the annex is shared bathroom facilities - the only downside. However, this is what you pay for in the cheaper lodging in the annex, so it's definitely a good value.
The hiotel is very well lcoated, minutes away from Tivoli Garden and the central station. It's clean, with very pretty rooms and helpful staff. Breakfast was nice, in a big, bright room. It also has a very welcoming reception, where you can sit and relax while planning your day or waiting for your friends to get ready. The wifi signal in the bedrooms was weak. At night, the area is a bit noisy and in the middle of the red light district.
Great location, steps to the central train station (15 min. ride to the airport). The room was very comfortable, well appointed, and extremely clean, while and the lobby a great place to relax and the garden and sidewalk tables and chairs are perfect for smokers. Excellent value for the price. Rooms do not have air conditioner and, while the city's temperature in August was cool, keeping the windows open at night was not an option because of the street noises generated by people. The staff graciously gave us a second room, which was significantly better in terms of noise, but you still could hear people eating breakfast in the garden
The location was great, along with the lobby and staff. Nowhere on the website did I find pictures of the part of the hotel where I stayed. Different rooms.
It's within easy walking distance to the central station . Loved the room! Clean, functional and modern. I liked everything about the hotel.
No complaints whatsoever. Room waa very clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Loxation is aupwr convenient for getting to/from the main train station.
The staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel was very pretty. My room was small and expensive, but reasonable compared to most places in Copenhagen. My room didn't come with a breakfast. It's not a big thing, I'm just saying.
Small room, without a/c so we open the window and it was a little bit noisy, breakfast was really nice in a big and nice room. The stand was very helpful
