They don't do what they promise. Pets are not allowed. Parking is not free. Restaurant service is slow
Nice hotel in the center of city and close to everything.
the location of the hotel is so good, near to the Metro and also near to Sultan Ahmed area.
Location, hotel's design.
Right in the middle of the torist part of Istanbul easy to walk to all of the main attractions, eating places and shops, a great time was had by all of our party. Had to pay extra for real orange juice at breakfast.
the area around hotel. small room... little expensive 120 euro for a night
the Location and the fact that for one specific incident they went beyond the call of duty to help me out. Although the staff was willing to be helpful they were not very specific on how to use public transportation or even give more specific instructions on how to get somewhere like the postoffice..
Employees were friendly, location was perfect for a weekend of sight-seeing and the room was also good considering that we just needed a comfortable place to sleep. Drinks in the bar are slightly overpriced.
Perfect location, Good quality roof restaurant At the breakfast you have to pay additional fee if you want to have fresh juice or espresso or omelette. The Wi-Fi internet is free, but with very poor quality!
very good location
Location All prices quoted in euros
location very good, in the heart of Istanbul AC was not working during our stay , rooms too small
mostly the location, then the value. the Air Condition was terrible sometimes even when we informed the staff
the staff were very friendly, excellent locatıon,wonderful hamam the room was tiny, the bathroom was more hostle than 4 star ,hidden charges on the facilities
Location was good and Terrace is superb with the ability to have a great view in addition to the rich breakfast bufet The poor language of the staff
The location was good. Near the main monuments and quiet. Great view from the roof restaurant. The gym is a small underground rapid hole without any air. Very small rooms.
Very good central location in old town near the train station. Wonderful roof restaraunt. Good breakfast.
The hotel was in very close proximity to the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, the Topkapi Palace, the Obelisks and the Grand Bazaar. Besides that it was also close to the tram line to Sirkeci and the bus to Taxim. Couldnt have asked for more. The breakfast was not bad and we had it on the roof top restaurant which had a million dollar view of the B Mosque and the H Sophia. .The staff was v. helpful One of the receptionists was overly friendly and was hitting onto my young daughter, somuch so that she was afraid to use the free internet whch was placed next to the reception desk. I thought that was crossing the line abit.
close to attractive area small elevator
The staff at Hotel Nena were very helpful and friendly. Location of hotel is excellent, close to major attractions and tramline. Hotel was comfortable and clean.
Very rich breakfast served on the beautiful roof terrace with a view to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia and Bosborus. Balcony eas actually a very small less than 1 sqm french balcony.
Small, friendly hotel in a the best location possible. Tremendous view. We were on the highest floor, just beneath the restaurant and unfortunately there was some noise of chairs moving around during breakfast. Breakfast did not start too early so it was not too much of a problem.
Staff always willing to help. Very courious. Convenient location.
position. decor. no
near the tram station , nearby the most interesting old places,,blue mosque, haga Sofia, topkapi,,,grand bazzar,,,hammam,,,,the location very nice,,,sea side not far,,,the staff very friendly.Good view at the restaurant. some noise specailly the first floor...car horns, even the near rooms you hear the steps of the quests and some time you thought some one kniking your room door while it is your neibgher doors.
Hotel Nena was centrally located in the old city of Istanbul with pleasant rooms and a superb breakfast with a view of the Blue Mosque. The building was tastefully created and decorated.
Nice and clean room, friendly atmosphere, perfect location.
Great, friendly, extremely responsive staff, from reception desk to breakfast ladies to maids. Spectacular view from breakfast terrace, and breakfast buffet was quite good as well. Rooms and common areas were spotless. Location is within very short walk of Ayasophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, archaelogical museum and tram stop to other points..
Rooms not very spacious but quite clean and well-maintained. Comfort is ok, but not exceptional. Furnishing and decoration need update. Breakfeast buffet might be a bit more refined. Overall, acceptable value for money but there are better options available. The view is magnificent on the 6/7 th floor.
good view The airconditioner is not working at the hotel .I adviced this hotel to my professor scientist colleguaeas .One them recently visited May 30 2010 from Taiepei and he told me that the airconditioner is not working Only fan is working . at that time I warned the hotel service . then for the SSIEM meeting I stayed and 3 of my other collegueas booked and stayed one from Belgium and the others two from UK and we had still the same problem air conditioner was NOT working I complained about this to hotel service and they told me that they can not do anything for that. It is not good for hotel that has a very nice location . I am sure , you will have more pressure on this air conditioner fixing or having a new system there Thank you
The room, view, amenities, and location were great; The one major issue was the staff - one of the desk clerks continued to harass my wife, asking for photos, and also to go on a date. It made the stay quite uncomfortable .. I would not expect this from a three star hotel!
A very nice hotel in a perfect location.
pretty nice hotel, great location and view from the roof dining room breakfast could be better
Staff was efficient and courteous.....however the beds need definately improvement...the mattresses felt like they had been used by very heavy overweight people with a definate hole in the middle. We stayed in room 401 which sizewise was ok but had very few hangers for hanging clothes. New mattresses absolutely necessary... they should also provide a little more light in the corridors of the hotel... it was almost pitch dark and one had difficulties to insert card to open room doors.
Most amazing view of the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque from my room.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the view excellent (you can see from your window all the city, Agyasofia and Blue Mosque) and the tramway station very close to the hotel. I ll return to this hotel if I ever visit again Istanbul. The fact that the elevetor comes up to the 7th floor, and you have to walk some stairs to go to the roof garden which is on the 8th floor.
The location and view were very good The only luxurious aspect of the hotel are the room prices. Given the price we were expecting something better than old furniture, staff that would not make the room in the afternoon and soap/shampoo coming from an dispenser attached to a wall. The worst was the minimalist breakfast supposed to last until 10:30 but which is almost empty at 9:30 and with staff starting to dispose of it at 10:15. Hotel does indeed have a gym, massage and jacuzzi, but you have to pay just for "general facilities access", and again for the activity you choose. We don't recommend this hotel, there are many better ones with same location advantage!
Very convenient position for visiting the old town and the local attractions The room was extremely hot as the air conditioning was ineffective, no air conditioning in the breakfast room, staff not particularly helpful.
Perfect location, good atmosphere, very nice views,
staff were excellent internet connection was subject to problems
Good position in old city Istanbul. Friendly and kind staff. Rain during our stay in October!
very nice staff, beautiful individual rooms, location
The hotel and staff were fabulous. The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the main sights of this area. We highly recommend this hotel.
Cleanliness comes at the top of our priorities and this place met our high expectations. The hotel is kept in great shape and everything is very clean. It's the fist place we stay at that provides towel packs in a sealed plastic bag. The staff is very friendly and personal. They took the time to sit with us at breakfast and chat. They had a nice selection of foods for breakfast and different kinds of juices and drinks. The location is pretty convenient as it is walking distance to the most important attractions in the Sultanahmed area, nice shopping areas, and a 10 minutes walk to the light rail stop. The light rail can take you to the grand bazar although we ended up walking cause we enjoyed looking at the stores on the way. It's a 5 minute ride in the light rail to the sea where there are a lot of seafood restaurants, which we weren't impressed with much. I really can't think of any
In spite of its central location it is quiet at night. Breakfast in the garden I had booked the one and only executive suite because of the "beautiful seaview and its spaciousness" praised in the on-line hotel description and when we arrived we were shown to a much smaller room with no view. After some insisting we found out that the suite was already occupied. The manager's explanations were rather fuzzy and not very convincing. He told us that we would get a discount. After one night we were moved to the garden suite, which was a little bit more spacious. On check-out the price they asked us was the same that we would have paid for the executive suite. (plus a little over 30 € for the minibar which we had not opened!). Again, we had to insist to get the promised discount (20 €/night). A certain disappointment.
Friendly supportive staff
Clean, comfortable room Payment too high for additional services (orange juice with breakfast for example additional charge of 2 Euro per glass, airport shuttle for 16 Euro while this service is offered everywhere else for 4 Euro). No garden but more of a terras while I selected the hotel for the nice garden.
Excellent, friendly and caring staff. It was complicated to get to the hotel the first day.
lovely rooms. nice staff, good location
Very good and quiet location. Generous sized, well-furnished and very clean rooms with air-conditioning. Pleasant garden and terrace. Very helpful and willing staff. 2 single beds put together to make a double but headboards fixed to the wall and only one bedside table and reading lamp. Uncomfortably variable shower.
I found the staff more than helpful. My room was very clean.Good selection for breakfast. Though staff polite and efficient , some could have smiled much more. Our sink in room was very loose.
Everything was fine, nice views , good localization ,nice and help full staff, and good breakfast...and great all day trip recommended by the hotel.
Poor breakfast, very noisy location, no parking for the second car (we are 4 persons in 2 cars and we reserved 2 parking places).
The bathroom in the room L1 (twin beds) is smaller than a hole. It is so small that the door doesn't even open and you just get in the toilet!!!! The smallest bathroom ever seen in my life in a hotel...
excellent location , friendly staff noise and too small bathroom . internet cafe in basement directly under our room - noisy and smoky
This hotel with very friendly staff and good location. Old sanitaryware
The staff were very good and helpful and spoke excllent English. The room was large with an good view over the harbour and was not noisy. The location was excellent as only a short walk to all the major attractions and Grand Bazar as well as numerous restaurants. The supermarket is just across the road. We were asked to spend the first night at a nearby hotel as the occupnats of our room had to stay 1 more night "because an emergency". We thought that may have happened to another guest.
The staff was very nice and accomodating. The phone in the room didn´t work well, but finally it was replaced by a better machine. Also, every day we had to ask for a 2nd small towel, which the cleaning service only left one (there were two to the room).iv
The hotel was very clean. The staff did their best to hep you. Splendid choice. The room are small for 3 persons.
very friendly staff smoking permitted in breakfast room; smoke seeping into the room
The rooms are big enough and nice to have balcony.View from 3rd floor is great.Breakfast was ok. The view of restaurant is great.
Hotel staff was very helpfull, they took care of the booking whenever we wanted to go in a trip, even printed the schedule for the ships sailing on Marmara Sea. Breakfast was good, they also had local food specialities. The parking is right near the hotel. The room is very clean, it has a big and comfortable bed. The hotel is in the Old City Center, near the turistic attractions and you can get really easy to the tram station (Sultanahmet Station) and go to the New City Center (in about 15 minutes). I would definitely recommend this hotel. Our room was very small (not really a problem for a weekend break). It was really hard to find the hotel by car.
Although definitely not your Four Seasons or top hotel, I wouldn't choose any other hotel to stay at in Istanbul. The location was ideal; we were only a few minutes away from all the great cultural historical sites of Sultanahmet. The staff were always extremely helpful and charming; they were always willing to assist us with room accommodations or even advice on our daily itinerary, giving us reservations, etc. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and breakfast was great. Hotel Daphne definitely factored hugely into our enjoyment of our Istanbul holiday. A definite recommendation to anyone wanting to have a comfortable, pleasant stay! The space of the hotel (rooms as well as the lobby, breakfast room, etc.) is quite small, and may become overcrowded with people or, in the rooms, with your luggage and things, but the smallness is also quite cosy and home-like.
We had a lovely room with a little balcony overlooking the Bosphorous. The view from the bar on the roof terrace was lovely, coupled with a lovely mezze plate! Staff were very helpful.
The location is great - close to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Arasta Bazaar, really nice. Front desk staff was lovely. Our room was very comfortable - not large, but had everything we needed, and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was average, but it was absolutely enough to get us going and start off the day. The people were so friendly, they helped us with all our questions and gave us great advice. We really enjoyed our stay.
Staff were not knowledgeable. Breakfast poor and unclean. Slow service, sometimes an attitude. Dinner which we paid for was inedible and service awful. Positives: location, room and bathroom size. see above. PS 6 couples from our cruise stayed there. We are all Americans
Good location (walking distance) to some of the main sites and easy access to public transport
The location; in the heart of the old city with attractions and landmarks within walking distance. very poor customer service and hospitality. extremely unfriendly, i would say flat out rude. Our experience was very unpleasant.
Staff were very friendly, great location for sight seeing...
Hotel staff were very friendly, helpful, and honest! After we left, my wife realized she left her ring and earrings (total value of over $10k). We called immediately and the hotel said it was at the front desk waiting for us to pick up at anytime. We had 2 rooms. 1 with sea view and 1 without. Would recommend with the beautiful sea view. Well worth the money.
We had a lovely stay at Daphne - staff were friendly and a drink on the roof terrace is a must. Very close to the Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque though in a quieter area. My only compliant of this hotel is that the pillows were too hard !
Excellent location, close to many tourist attractions and tram stops. For a suite the room was quite small. Furthermore, the cleaning of the room could have been more thorough.
Location, value. You can hear people next door
The hotel is quite central - roughly 5-7 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and around 10-11 min from the Aya Sofya. The closest tram station is Sultanahmet and is very close to the Aya Sofya. The staff at the hotel were all extremely nice and friendly, the rooms were not very big but comfortable and very very clean and modern. This is not a critisism of the hotel per se as we were very happy with our stay. The hotel is located on a small street which is also a one way and on an upward incline. As we had some elderly people with us, it was sometimes a problem for them to walk the last 100m to the hotel, but most times taxis will break the one way rule and drop you right infront of the hotel.
The personal of the hotel was very kind and thoughtful The breakfast was short
The location was useful, very close to city attractions and close to the transportation (tram) The breakfast was very poor quality
staff were really friendly, great roof terrace with views of sea of marama
Perfect location, very short walking distance to all the top sites of Sultanahmed, but still very quiet and safe. The hotel is older, the rooms are rather small, breakfast selection is limited. Definitely not a 4 star hotel, but a good 3 star.
Hotel has an excellent location in the city. Yes, triple room is really small. I think it's actually double room but with an extra bed.
The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. They regularly asked if I needed anything. The staff took time to explain how to move around the city. The room was comfortable and well taken care of. The breakfast was excellent....enjoyed it very much. For a senior citizen, it was difficult to get in and out of the shower. If not careful, someone could get hurt in the process.
This hotel is comfortable and situated very close to all historical monuments (Topkapi, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc.) and Grand Bazar as well, 10 minutes walk, no more. It is reaced easily by metro and tram (T1) line from the airport (change at Zeytinburnu stop of metro), about 45 min. Ticket ("token") price is 1,5 turkish lira which is only valid in one line and one way. The token is probably bought at the mashin on the platform of tram. Appropriate tram stop to the hotel is Sultanahmet and 50 meters back on the right hand street. Unfortunately street table is not visible, there is a restaurant at the corner. Hotel is in the very small street.
excellent as location and cleanliness. i stayd in the best room of the hotel, at the top floor. it looks exactly like in the pictures. nothing
Friendly and helpful staff didnt answer emails!
it was good it was good
