Location to other fun places to visit, Nice pools and view of the waterfront. Bathroom sink needs attention room 401, noise from Navy base.
Excellent Location San Diego Bay across street and boat marina on the other side of hotel.
Location. Friendly staff. Clean. Room was amazing. Comfot.
We were upgraded from a double queen to a junior suite that was very large. Comfortable beds, fluffy towels, frig, m/w, toaster, utensils and dishes, dining table w/ 4 chairs, 2 other chairs and a desk w/chair. It was in the Casa del Mar building. Lovely walking path along the harbor, exercise room (with tv, but make sure it's plugged in. I didn't catch that the first time I tried) and pools (didn't use). Did not eat in the restaurant as we have family in San Diego where we ate. It's in a good location for us. Some streets in San Diego change names at intersections you might not expect them to, so review a good street map before you set out. Airport very close by, but wasn't bothered by jet noise - maybe they just go over my daughter's house. :-) Bathroom fan quite loud, but it was never on for very long. We were on the street side so our view from the patio was bushes and cars. We weren't there to sit on the patio and if I wanted to see the sailboats all I had to do was walk to the marina side. No breakfast included, but with family in the area that was o.k. plus there are plenty of other choces for breakfast if you don't want to eat at the hotel.
Beautiful room with a balcony and water view Great new comfy bed Friendly, helpful staff Good restaurant with reasonable pricing and solid local clientele Easy parking Slightly noisy on the street side due to traffic and airport
Location Room -crappy bathroom, loud AC, horrible /no view
friendly staff at check-in great room and view of marina comfortable beds/pillows great location at marina and close driving distance to downtown good area for morning run complimentary bikes and tennis equipment pool was heated and jacuzzi was nice and hot further than I thought from downtown but still great location $10 to park car
The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The view was nice. The beds were hard and my back had a negative reaction to it.
He best western had a beautiful view of the marina and the room was very clean. We traveled with a one year old and they provided a crib. There is a playground across the street which was great. This is in a perfect location. Isolated from noise and congestion so you can enjoy the peace and beauty of the marina. It is close to gas lamp, pacific/ocean beach, and sunset cliffs. Will stay there again the next time we come! Don't expect early check in. When they say check in is at 4, it's at 4. But at least the location is in a great area so you can go eat or go walk around Belmont park
Location was ok with a car easy access to downtown, shopping , restaurants etc We could hear doors closing , other guests talking when in our room
Nice clean location with great view of the marina. Had trouble sleeping and relaxing with poor sound proofing. We could clearly hear the people speaking in the room next to us with very little privacy. The entry door to our room also had a large gap at the floor which let in light and sound.
Absolutely love the quiet harbor side stay in beautiful San Diego... Spectacular views and amazingly quiet and with a hint of luxury and the staff was nice and welcoming Staff double charged me for my stay...
Very comfortable beds, private entry lanai, lots of great pillows, beautiful lush landscaping. Live music every night, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and will absolutely return. Parking was tight.
The rooms are always in top condition. The pool area feels like Hawaii, the parrots and koi fish are a nice touch. The restaurant prices are reasonable for breakfast at such a nice venue. Many great placed to eat within walking distance. They are remodeling the rooms along the back, but even our room was so nice that I feel that it didn't need a remodel. The construction noise is minimal and not a problem.
Everything was great!
Our room was so close to the venue.... Some parts of the hotel were dated but it actually played into the charm of the hotel and venue... Not for everyone bout it was great if you are seeing a show or want to be close to Shelter Island and Point Loma.
The location. We did not appreciate the "Resort Fees" It's a rip off. They are trying to pass on their cost to doing business to the customer. We had it removed. I am getting sick of these type of charges. I will not go their again if the "Resort Fees" are in place, nor any other accommodation that try the rip off. In the years past, I favored Half-Moon. When they appreciated the customer and didn't try tricks. PS We were not notified in advance of the charges. That's sneaky. I wonder why? Take a guess.
It's good overall, nice location and near the harbor Sink in the bathroom smells bad, needs to be cleaned.
Shelter Island is beautiful, the concert area in very nice, and the live music was pleasant. The room itself had a nice, large TV and new amenities. The shower had good pressure and the restroom was clean and large. The bed was HORRIBLE. It was extremely loud and springy, and uncomfortable. There is a ridiculous $10 "resort fee" AND a $15 parking fee on top of that! The staff was generally okay, but the manager was unpleasant and unsympathetic: I had called ahead to try and see if we could check-in 2 hours early. The staff member was able to accommodate our early check-in by giving us a small upgrade in room (premier no-view to premier with view). I thanked the staff member and was very pleased. HOWEVER, once we got there on the day of our check-in we were attended by a manager who quickly informed us that she had not 'approved' the upgrade and therefore could not check-in for another hour. She also made sure to tell us that she knew we made our reservation online (something she apparently looked down on) and that there actually were several vacant rooms at the time we arrived, but would still have to wait an hour. That was downright rude.
Really pretty location and views. Process of getting in and out was awesome. Also very cute rooms. The Ac wasn't working at first (was fixed later), our bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, extremely noisy in the morning, and ceiling was ugly.
There was a lack of organization. We were assigned occupied rooms twice. The final room assignment needed housekeeping before we could settle in. The walls were extremely thin resulting in disturbingly loud night time noise. The carpeting was very old and smelled stale. As a result we never felt comfortable in this room.
The concert was good, but fold up seats jammed together too close. I booked a king premiere room months before our stay. Put into a queen. The carpet outside the bathroom on both sides was soaked from leaking shower or air conditioner. Patio had a "view" of the parking lot. Staff totally did not care, manager said room times booked are not guaranteed. I showed them the copy of the internet page that said "king premiere." So sorry they said, but it was not believable.
We loved the large room, the location and all that it had to offer. the $10 you pay each day for wifi and the $14 for parking each day.
Gen, at the front desk, and Joanne, in the restaurant, were both wonderful. Room could use some attention - carpet needs to be replaced, and wallpaper was coming off one wall. Upholstered chairs need to be replaced or recovered. Nice patio, lovely bathroom, great room location. Took more than an hour for fresh towels to be brought out to the pool, after two calls from the pool bartender. Took three requests to get our room cleaned one day.
Great Facilities-grounds were kept well Front line staff at check in were not knoweledgeable about San Diego and area. The phone in my room did not work which was concerning and when this was brought to the front desk staff they were not receptive. You need to remember that front desk staff are the staff that are first encountered. They leave the first and last impression
I liked the convenience and the location of the hotel.
The restaurant is excellent and is easily the bet feature of the hotel. No action on my request to have the blockage of the wash basin fixed.
The location on shleter Island is great, you have a nice view over the bay of San Diego. We like the atmospere on the island, a nice place to stay!
Our room was pleasant. The littler porch area, with door opening from our bed area, was pretty, looking out at the boats, fireworks at Sea World, with, no less, an American flag waving in the breeze in front of our room as the fireworks went off! The full moon which also shone over the water was a timely advantage as well :) Pretty good area to take walk in, strolling along the water. The navy base across the way had some helicopters, boats out and this was interesting and did not interupt our visit. The children playing in the sand outside our room was also pleasant. Although our children are grown, it brought back fun memories of taking them to the ocean in Washington, where we live. Our computer would not work in the room well. We did get some help from the front desk (they were pleasant) w/ attempts to get the internet service, but this was an inconvenience and hastle.
I liked the location the best, waking up to the beach view was amazing and super relaxing Nothing
We liked the rooms and facilities (pool, marina side beach) They tried to put us in a room with one bed when we booked a room with two doubles, we are a family of three and I refuse to put my daughter on a roll away, when we booked for two beds. The other people checking in at the same time we were also had problems with their accommodations.
Not much at all. The room was very small and it was supposed to be a deluxe room. The toilet seat was hanging off the hinges and the shower head was broken. Also, there was a huge water bug in my bed. The staff said it is common due to the bay. It was disgusting!! Overall, the place needs an overhaul.
Relaxing with great amenities and unbelievable views from the courtyard and restaurant. Check-in is later than normal- our room wasn't ready until after 3. We were able to drop off our luggage and wander around the beautiful island in the meantime. Parts of the hotel have a musty smell. We were able to switch to a better room for only $30 to avoid this.
The room was very nice & the resort seemed to be very well maintained. The pool area & hot tub next to the marina were great places to hang out. We had a bay view room & the views from the room were great! In fact, we were able to watch the tall sailing ships sailing up & down the bay on Labor Day weekend. The food & drinks were a bit pricey but we had good service & everything tasted really good. We'll definitely try the bloody mary bar next time.
Location was fantastic! Maids were prompt in cleaning the rooms. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms inside were outdated and beds were a little soft (worn out). For the price we got it great value. The parking fee and the fee to workout room I could not get over. Both should be included and are not.
The location was great, quietly located at the end of Shelter Island with good views of Point Loma, North Island, and the Pacific. I enjoyed the waterfront path and could get a good 4+ mile run in with little of it on the street. There was some confusion as a result of a change of ownership and renovation. We needed a guest laundry facility and we were told by one employee there was a quarter operated laundry only to be told by another employee that it was closed. No microwave was available for use on the entire property. The pool never had towels available, happy hour was only inside not at the pool bar, and the gym was closed/non existent yet we were charged a "resort" fee upon checkout. Also, parking was pricey even though half the parking lot was closed to be used as a construction staging area forcing us to park a long distance from our room. For the money, stay next door at the Best Western Plus.
Location only, not much more to say Breakfast was in a hot tiny room Bathroom was very small and needs updating fixes ie..broke tiles
We wanted a location easy to access, close to Shelter Island and close to Pt Loma Seafood Co. We wanted something comfortable at an affordable rate. The bathroom was very small but there's nothing you can do about that.
Nothing was more anxious to leave. Only reason we stayed was due to the non-refundable policy. We did not want to forefit money. The cockroach in the lobby up on arrival was what did it for my family. It sucks this had to be my first time booking through this website and last. The cockroach in the lobby, the staff whom saw it and did nothing. The room was just not what I expect out of Ramada. It was like a Motel 6. I guess you get what you pay for. nex time i will spend the money and go back to what I know.
The beds were extremely comfortable and helped us get a good night sleep despite jet lag. Nothing to dislike. Functional and good location.
Great value, great location, redone rooms are very nice, easy in, easy out the avocado green paint in the halls was a bit dated !
Receptionist Anna was extremely helpful and kind when we checked in and when we had to find a car dealer for some minor repairs. Our room was ground floor as requested but right near the back parking lot entrance and we listened to suitcases rolling up the hallway until all hours of the night.
Proximity to airport and local attractions. Friendly staff. Lack of wardrobe.
The location was good for our purpose. Especially was happy with the free shuttle to and from the airport. Beds were comfortable. Room was small and drab. Bathroom looked old. Breakfast choices were very limited.
Hotel staff (they were wonderful), cleanliness, refrigerator and microwave, comfy beds. Nearness to food, places to visit. Shuttle service. Rooms were small; however, they were adequate and well-appointed. Would have liked a second blanket.
Hotel localization is fine. Gym is too bad.
The balcony, free breakfast and the harbor view was beautiful. I didn't like the small selection of food and the very small old elevator.
We enjoyed your hotel in general. Had a good stay there. Nothing but would have liked it to be less expensive.
Great bed...clean, close to entertainment. My "server" was in a strange mood. He ignored taking my order 10+ minutes. He didn't fulfill a simple request, place half my order in a box. A fellow server saw his lack of professionalism and actually did his job.
The staff and location were great. This is a great place to stay out in the Point Loma area, with a great view on either side of the complex and an exceptional staff.
Close to the main SD's areas - the dock it's attached to the hotel I spent only one night...
close to the Point Loma Landing
Location to Fishing in San Diego
Great location and good hotel stay for your buck Found a doggy treat under bed.
close to marinas and airport---very clean and quiet would book the hotel again if we are in the area
I enjoyed my stay here. My room was clean, pleasantly decorated, and included a micro, fridge, coffee maker, and even an iron and ironing board. It was in a great location, only a block from the harbor, and near a nice selection of restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Parking could be a problem when the motel is fully booked.
Cheap, quiet, near where i was working Storm took power out for about 7 hours first night. Internet is slow
Not anything special worth to mention. Hotel personnel. Breakfast poor. Outer appearance poor. The only window in our room was directly to a public parking place, not nice. Price way too high for what you get.
I liked having a pet- friendly hotel so close to the bay area. Lack of/cramped parking at times.
I liked how close it was to everything and the bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was rather a muffin or a danish. Should of been more than that for the price.
Quiet area, polite staff, easy access to city and all major sights The continental breakfast is more like just pastries, I would have liked a more continental breakfast.
Excellent staff. They made us feel very welcome, as if we were guests in their home. The rooms Are small but clean and the location is ideal if you're visiting Point Loma.
Seemed the hotel has been recently renovated. No odd smells, pleasant folks. Clean rooms no flourishings. Great price.
I stayed only one night. I paid $44.00 plus tax. Midweek. Late September. For the money and location this place was just fine. Bathroom was old but I just had the one shower.
For the price I paid, I have zero complaints. The bathroom seemed older styled, but everything functioned properly. Bed was comfortable, everything was clean, there was free Wi-Fi and a nice TV. It was very quiet and small, and I will definitely come here again.
Cabriilo Inn & Suites is in the process of updating. We were told our room had just been finished and we were the first to stay in it. It was absolutely pristine! They've replaced the carpet with wood or wood like floors. Either way: a big plus for asthma sufferers. The brand new bed was a little hard for me, but my husband loved it. Linens not luxury but adequate. Walls are thin if you're sensitive to that, but we had quiet, considerate neighbors. Basic but pristine and everything worked in our freshly updated room. The location was great - walking distance to the beautiful marina, restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
I Felt safe while I was there. Good location. Quiet. I would stay there again. The accommodations were right for the price. The staff was friendly. some of the bathroom floor tiles were lose and bathtub/shower fixtures were outdated.
The family running the Cabrillo provided excellent service. I would stay here again.
Friends owners/operators. Parking garage.
Easy check in and out. You can hear your neighbors every step, walls and floors are paper thin. Quality of a motel 6, slightly less
The attention to detail!
The staff, rooms (very clean, well-designed, not the largest, but plenty of room), the restaurant at the hotel was great! A little noisy between the room and the hallway. Could hear some noise from the bar, but overall, this did not interfere with my stay.
We LOVE this place! Super rad vibe! Great food and drink specials. The bartenders were amazing. LOVE the movie nights at the pool and the bottomless mimosa with Sunday brunch. Thin widows, so you could hear all of the road traffic and noise outside.
Experience was top notch They're could have been more beta tanks in my room.
Clean rooms excellent interior design nice location 1. Walkways are small , so walking with your luggage is not easy. 2. Most of the rooms are on level 2 with no elevator. if there was, it wasn't easily visible None of the above points are a deal breaker.
The bar and pool were wonderful. They play old movies on a giant big screen above the pool and bar. The staff were very pleasant and wanted to make sure our stay was excellent. Parking was limited.
Excellent staff, very helpful. Nice design, and full service bar and restaurant. Also great restaurants located within 4 blocks Certain rooms get alot of street noise, but others are great.
Nice professional personal, comfortable access to main roads and highways, good area, interesting bar design. 8-9 parking spots, very loud road work right next to the hotel, old sheets had to be replaced long time ago, poor fish in the fishtank in our unit seemed to be very unhappy and bored.
Friendly & Enthusiastic Staff with personal Touch. Retro design Hotel with perfect Rooms and good Restaurant and Bar. We enjoyed our roommate "Moby" the Fish and Film on every Wednesday evening on the big screen by the Pool. Nothing, everything was perfect! Of all our 16 different Hotels during our roundtrip in California, we enjoyed the Pearl the most!!
Not only were the rooms clean & staff helpful and friendly, but the whole establishment was just "cool". The Pearl has a great bar, great food, and a crowd of locals that show up to hang out for Happy Hour. Parking isn't great. Limited spaces for guests & this cost $10 each night. If you don't get a space you have to park on the street.
Nice clean, large rooms and a lovely restaurant inside the hotel. Limited parking available.
Hotel staff was very helpful, clean rooms. Very near Marina and restarants Little noisey from busy street a long the front of the motel
Great value, amenities in-room, easy access and quick check-in. Towels folded perfectly, cable tv, couch, kitchen, and work counter. Great high end bicycle store next door. Very close to fishing charters and airport. Linens were older but perfectly adequate. There was not enough parking on the property.
Took too long to give my deposit back
The staff was very friendly. The only thing I did not like was the city noise. At night it was very noisy cars, planes, and people.
