Stayed here with my teen daughter on our way to UVic. Beautiful heritage home, that is well kept. Room had a large Jacuzzi that we both would have like to try but didn't get the chance. Everything was very clean, staff friendly and breakfast delicious Nothing
We loved the classic oldness of the place...the architecture was amazing! The staff was friendly and informative for places to go. We were there to celebrate our 28th anniversary and they upgraded us at no extra cost. The place had a musty smell to it...we got used to it. When booking, we put in diet restrictions which they had a challenge adhering to. (no seafood or pork products)
Stayed in their low end room: small, overhead noise but very lovely, had a flowered and landscaped side area with an entrance, close to everything (walk to ferry and the staff and breakfast ...exquisite Some noise when people above showered etc. But that came with a much lower price!
Location Breakfast starts at 8:30, which is a little late for me; would prefer a 7 or 7:30 start.
friendly,clean,great food, location.
I loved the location, very close to the ferry terminal and walking or cheap taxi distance from downtown. The rooms are cozy, clean and well kept. Markets and her crew made an excellent breakfast which was well worth it.
Breakfast is good, homemade, food is fresh. Room is too tight.
The owner is very friendly, The breakfasts were incredible (5 star) and it is two blocs away from the tourist center of Victoria and very quiet at night. Great place. I recommend it strongly Everything was fine.
Delicious and attractive breakfast choices.
Breakfast, location, cleanliness Room looked different than website

The breakfast, the location, and the bed. The wasn't working properly when we arrived, but it was fixed before we left, and hotel employee refunded $20 for this.
Everything about it was easy. We arrived much earlier than scheduled, yet the friendly manager gave us a house tour plus muffins and our room key. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was lovely, tasty and in a nice setting. Downtown was an easy walk. There are steep staircases to get to any level. Rooms are small because it's in an old house. Breakfast has a one-hour window, a problem for race-runners. Neither of these things are necessarily problems, just things prospective guests should know.
Great location and value A bit noisy. Head snoring from nearby room as well as late night arrivals
The character and the delicious breakfast. The easy check-in and check-out system. missing shelves in the shower for toiletries.
quite beautiful scenery, kind, clean room, nice kitchen.
It was situated in the ideal location for us. I love old world charm and this 100 year old building in a lovely residential neighborhood certainly retained that. One cannot ask for more when it is situated next door to a castle ! Very quiet and peaceful The bathroom did not have hand soap, tissues or shampoo. I had expected those amenities as standard fare.
The living room and breakfast area were beautiful and new looking. The owner kindly compromised when there were big problems to solve. And the neighborhood was lovely. The rooms were terrible. They were dirty, stained carpet, cramped; no clock, tissues, reading lamp, or simple amenities. Oneshower caddy was rusty, & the bathroom door wouldn't close. Holes in wall in hall w/light hanging by a wire, paint fumes.
The Prior Castle Inn was a wonderful spot, rich in history and very unique. It really went beyond me expectation of a hotel, in fact it didn't feel like one at all. Our host was wonderful, so helpful and genuine It was a bit of a trek to downtown Victoria, but we knew that beforehand, so its not a complaint, merely something to consider as a future guest. Walking would would take approx 35 minutes, and a cab would cost around $10. The WIFI was also quite weak.
The building itself has been renovated but it needs a little more tlc on some detsils.
