Delightful. Very kind staff, lovely room. Very good value at just over $200 Room seemed a bit humid
Location, Location, Location! Great mid-town location, steps away from shops, theaters and landmarks. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable room although very small bathroom. Great restaurant! Small bathroom.
Everything... great hotel, great location!
Location was excellent. I thought my room was way too small. I was in one of the 02 rooms and it was tiny. never stay in any of the rooms that end with 02. There was a gentleman in the library when I was there speaking on the cell phone complaining that his closet at home was bigger than his room. I asked to change out of my room and they said they were sold out. I will never stay at this hotel again unless I am shown the size of the room first. Otherwise, it was clean, good location and good staff.
Accomodations and staff were wonderful. Location is convenient and in an extremely staff area.
Cosy and comfortable The ventilation in the toilet is noisy.
staff was outstanding comfortable room, if small great location older building with slow elevators :) small room (but it is Manhattan!)
It was clean and comfortable, beautifully decorated, quiet, friendly and helpful staff, excellent service - from doorman to housekeeping to room service,, conveniently located, cozy lobby and library - in short - a gem of a hotel. Will definitely return!! Absolutely no complaints!
Our stay at the Iroquois New York was absolutely fabulous. From the moment we arrived, we received excellent service from all the staff. The room was very clean and well appointed. The location was perfect. Vanessa, the concierge, was absolutely amazing; not only did she provide excellent recommendations for restaurants and attractions, but she went the extra mile in assisting us with obtaining a metro card for the subway. We will certainly recommend the Iroquois to our friends and plan to stay here again for our next visit to New York!
Conveniently located,comfortable,pleasant stuff.
The staff was absolutely amazing. Especially Rocky and Jenny. They were friendly and helpful and always with a smile. The rooms are kept well and are comfortable. The hotel is centrally located so most activities are in walking distance. I will stay there again when I go back in a few months. Everything was great!
We arrived early and our room was ready. We were able to check into our room early which was very much appreciated after traveling all night on the red eye. The staff was friendly, attentive and the hotel was charming and very clean. Great location to everything. We really enjoyed the Lantern's Keep downstairs.
How close it was to 5th Avenue Nothing
I loved the environment. It was very friendly and warm. My bed was comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful. I wish the TV was in a better location and the iPad had more apps on it.
As a regular guest at other Morgans Hotels, I was once again left completely impressed and taken by the ambience created in each of their hotels, from decor, to music, to design to their staff. Ideal location, lovely bar/foyer, wonderful cocktails, fantastic service.
staff... excellent service. though it takes 40 mins to get a bucket of ice.
Jessica on concierge was fantastic. She was very helpful and was very friendly. As well as being the only person you literally have any contact with. I really was disappointed with the ambience each afternoon. It felt like we were walking into a nightclub each day. The lighting was perfect, however the music very obtrusive and the relaxation of the hotel was not there.
The deluxe rooms are a good size considering NY space. The baths in the deluxe rooms are a real indulgence if you have the time to take advantage of them, the staff are helpful and friendly and the hotel generally achieves its 'cool' status if that's important to you. Just a heads up, it is a real favoured after work drinking hub and often still much like a bar into the late evenings. Nice touch with the Ipad in the room, location was spot on and easily accessible to all the areas. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Royalton, but had gotten a good rate through booking.com. Paying standard rates I may have felt it was alot of money for what it was. Concierge Sasha was exceptionally helpful and was always willing to help. Whilst I appreaciate the mood and ambience of the hotel it would be nice to have been able to get more natural light into the room, we faced the inner courtyard so this might have attributed. I found the cost of the room service pretty expensive but the food was good if small in portion. My main gripe was the internet in the room, for a pretty signigicant charge it would cut out regularly if two consoles or laptops were being used at the same time (I was there on business), suggestion for improvement would be maybe a more varied offering in the gym it was relatively limited on the machines.
OUtstanding bar with great ambience Room fairly small but still very comfortable
I like the hotel decor
the room makes me feel comfortable the staff is very nice i love staying at Hilton definitely coming back !
Clean, comfortable rooms. Easy access to elevators to rooms. Staff was very courteous & accommodating. No problems.
Hotel was excellent - perfect location if you want to be in the middle of the action in NYC. Staff was courteous and extremely helpful. Room size was great, room was clean and comfortable. Excellent value!
Good value for being in the middle of Manhattan.
Location was awesome, and we were upgraded to a deluxe room with sweet views. Definitely worth it. Parking was confusion as address given online did not match where to valet park, which was awful because traffic around Time Square is insane sometimes.
Rooms were large compared to many other hotels in New York.
Flexible with checkout, very helpful staff. For the price, breakfast and internet should be included.
Took the wife to NYC for a romantic getaway, and wanted to stay in the Times Square area to be close to theaters. This property was perfect for us! Clean, modern rooms with everything we needed, and all within a short walk to the heart of Times Square. we would stay here again in a heartbeat. On the check in website, I made request for highest floor possible with a great view away from the elevator. We ended up on the 29th floor, corner room at the end of the hall which was everything I asked for. At check in I also requested late check out and was allowed 2.5hours which was perfect for our departure to the airport. this Hilton and its staff were top notch. Thanks! Room was cool, had to crank the thermostat to 80 to get warm . This could have been due to havering a corner room with lots of windows. Housekeeping, unfortunately, turned the heat back to 67 each day so the room was cool'ish when we got back each evening. Not a huge concern.
the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was very very clean and comfortable . the view was great as well. there wasn't one thing id complain about.
Easy walking distance to area attractions like Madison Square Garden, theater district, Empire State Building and numerous restaurants. Very clean room with plenty of outlets, and friendly front desk. Very nice, and rare, open outdoor space in front of hotel. A bit disorganized with the luggage holding process and the lobby lounge should be open later during the summer. The hotel has very nice outdoor space which is rare for hotels in that busy area and could get better use. Got back from concert at 12:30 and had to look for a bar/pub to have a night cap.
Price. Location. Modern. Clean. Small. Old. Slow checkin.
Easy check in and out. Validate for parking nearby. Check with parking garage. Small rooms but typical for NYC hotels
I had been in NY few times but this time I realize how important is a good location! The best ever! Next to metro station and shopping area. At the front rooms you can appreciate the Empire Statle from your window! For sure I will be back!
Friendly staff went out of their way to make our late valentine's day getaway special, moved me and my girlfriend to a higher floor, and gave us a box of chocolates and a card. Room was extremely clean, a little small, but nice nonetheless. I will definitely stay again! Room was a little small, but the cleanliness absolutely made up for it!
Excellent location and great hotel for the price (subway stop right outside) Very helpful staff (especially in the restaurant when I was dining with my two year old) Beautiful view of the Empire State Building from our window Quiet rooms--other than one neighbor banging on the door early in the morning, I did not know anyone else was around
I have stayed here numerous times throughout various trips. All the staff members of the hotel are very nice, helpful, and show they care about you. Cleaning staff is very very nice, front desk is amazing. They have a great breakfast staff as well. The hotel is right next to a subway station, but you don't see the lingering subway station people. If you get a city view it is wonderful. Very centralized to NYC. You are close enough to Time Square with shops close. Small rooms, but it is NYC you can't expect much more. If that is the only negative thing about your stay then you have no worries!
The hotel was fine. However, there was a murder in the hotel the night we were their. Apparently a pimp was murdered several floors up. It was all over the NYC news.
Alex at the front desk was most helpful in assisting me with a reservation problem,
Clean, Good location Broken front door.
ALL of your front desk staff could use better training in professionalism and courtesy.
Juan was amazing. The room was comfy. The entire hotel looked clean. I can't wait to come back!
Junior suite was spacious. Nothing is a wow factor but it's good overall. I didn't see breakfast options in the room but noticed a 3Rd floor breakfast option in the elevator when I had no time left in my schedule.
Super close to Grand Central, surprisingly very quiet even though we were facing 41st st! Staff was a bit slow and there were a handful of weird guests, but overall very good. Can't beat the price for a downtown hotel. Slow and confused staff Room down the hall stunk of cigarettes (though ours was fine)
Location Internet was not available at night. Not enough bandwidth. Staff did not answer phone. Sheets smelled like body odor.
Attentive staff Comfortable room Minor fit and finish problems; flaked paint, some scratches here and there Spanish style half door shower forces you to endure a blast of freezing cold water before it gets hot
The location is convenient to times square. It takes about 15 min to walk to times square and all the shopping areas The heater was not working when we first arrived to our room so it was extremely cold. The breakfast was advertised as a buffet for only $12, but it was just a very basic continemtal breakfast.
Accommodations were excellent. Staff was friendly, polite and helpful. Very quiet despite location. The room temperature was too warm for sleeping and no way to open the window.
The door leading out of the hotel worked The staff, the lobby, the location, the accommodation were all bad
The room was large for new york and very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding!! It includes juice, coffee and a basket of bread and pastries. The best pancakes are at Sofitel. It is a short walk to the theatre. No complaints, I will definitely go back to Sofitel
Great location, clean room, staff was very accomodating
Bed was unbelievably comfortable. Bathroom was not as well outfitted as the bed.
The location Not the standart I expected, room to small, air conditioning to noise.
Extremely friendly staff upgraded us to a king bed, left champagne in our room for our husband's birthday
The location was perfect for theatre and shopping and catching the subway. The room was a little small. We had two twin beds and really not much of a view. Concierge (one of 3) was not particularly helpful. Very minimal Christmas decorations in lobby, other hotels much more festive.
Location and cleaniness the other guests where a bit rude
Great location, excellent staff combined with a good restaurant and good decor Wifi Should be free
Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Sometimes I had difficulty understanding the staff as their first language was french.
The room was overall inviting and the bed and pillows especially comfortable. Having to pay an extra fee for internet access, it should be a part of the cost of the room.
This was our first trip to nyc and chose Sofitel by recommendation as well as location and reputation. It was within walking distance to many attractions as well as excellent places to eat. We felt safe yet away from the main hustle and bustle. The beds were super comfortable and the bathroom was top class. Thankyou!
The staff excellent, location perfect comfort first class. Tea & coffee making facilities should be available in the room.
had a lovely time in hotel the best thing was you were aloud smoke in your room
The decor was really cute, nautical themed! The bed was comfortable and we were able to actually sleep three in the middle of Time Square with one queen on the bottom and a double (I think, that or a twin, but it felt a little bigger) on top! A short walk to the theatre district and close to all the hustle and bustle, but nicely contained. The breakfast was included in our price and it was actually worth it, there was a wider assortment than I usually see in hotel breakfasts and it was served until noon when we were there. I would say overall the amenities put us over the top for the trip. If I had to stay in the middle of the city again, I'd definitely try for this hotel again. There was a few small areas in the room that were peeling and I think a different ladder to get to the top "bunk" would be safer. The tiny metal rungs were a bit precarious (maybe something slightly slanted with larger steps to get up?).
The location was very convenient, the bed was super comfy, and the price was rather reasonable compared to the other hotels in the area. The evening pool "party" was a little scandalous, there were some questionable things happening, definitely not a place to take the kids! The front desk staff wasn't rude, but they were not very friendly either.
Very friendly staff. Very nice room. Breakfast was good. We particularly liked the 24/7 swimming pool: very cool at nights, with music from a DJ and drinks from the bar. There were no hangers in the room to dry the towels after showering.
The decor was cute. When we went to check-in, the person at the desk couldn't find our reservation (which we placed through Kayak). So he had me show him my confirmation email via my phone. Okay, sure, that's fine. But then he made me email the confirmation to his personal email because he said their accountant would need it.... It was bizarre. I checked that confirmation email up and down later on to make sure there was nothing he could use to steal my identity or commit credit card fraud. Anyway, forwarding my confirmation email to the clerk's personal email just seems very messy and unprofessional. He also charged an additional $25 to my card "in case of extra charges". When I checked out, I did not receive any notice about extra charges. A week later, I still do not have this extra charge back. The wallpaper in the room was peeling. The bed was definitely not the typical comfy hotel mattress I'm used to... it was very firm and the pillows had rough and cheap feeling cases. The bathroom set up is weird. The shower, toilet, and sinks are all exposed to the room. There is a sliding mirror that can either cover the toilet or the shower... not both at the same time. If you like privacy when you use the toilet, this may not be the place for you.
The location just off Times Square was fantastic. The breakfast was excelent and facilities wee great. we would definatly go again
location was fab and staff really friendly room was smaller than expected but it was what we needed
The bed was very comfortable. The shower was great. The room was very small - but fine for my purposes. It would be too small if you needed to spend a lot of time in it for any reason.
Excellent location in the middle of the time square... the staff were so nice and helpful and gave us very good advices. Rooms were so clean and comfort. It's the best option if you are looking for a good location and convenient price .
Excellent central location for sightseeing and while the rooms are cozy, they're more than enough. With NYC to explore, you only need a bed to rest your weary head in! Paid just over $900 for 5 nights for the room which is great value for money. Booked a petite room with a double bed and were offered a free upgrade to a standard room with twin beds. Staff were really friendly and happy to chat over breakfast - I personally prefer that to formal hotel 'attentiveness'. Found no issue with the breakfast area - stayed Thanksgiving weekend and were having breakfast around 9am. It was busy but manageable and staff would clear an area asap.
Clean, comfortable room. Excellent comfortable bed Differing abilities of staff to book taxis. One said "Come to the front desk shortly before it is needed & we will call them." When we did this we were told to go down to Times Square & hail a passing Yellow Cab.
I am not a big fan of being in the middle of Times Square, however Room Mate Grace has a very cozy, boutique feel, which I love. The staff are friendly and I love the design details (ex: dimmer switches!) of the rooms. I am looking forward to staying at Room Mate Isabella in Florence in a month!
I have stayed in quite a few NYC hotels. The room was magnificent! The breakfast and gathering area was beautiful and the staff was so friendly and accomodating!
Excellent TImes Square location for weekend stay .
We stayed here, of all times, through New Year's Eve, and it was a very wise choice! \n\nThe room had a full kitchenette with microwave, full size refrigerator, toaster, dishes, etc. It was really convenient to be able to go to the corner store and buy midnight snacks or breakfast for the next day.\n\nThe front desk staff was very matter of fact. They weren't overly friendly (it is NYC, lots of people, not everyone will be gushy!). There wasn't a bellman that we saw -- which we liked because we can wheel our own suitcases, not a big deal. There typically was a security guard near the door and you have to use your room key to get to the upper floors. \n\nI would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!
My wife and I spent 5 days there to celebrate our anniversary?our first visit to ?the big apple?. The rooms were a little small, but were very clean and well furnished. The staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the hot complimentary breakfast, but be warned, they get very busy from about 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Be there before 8:30 and you are fine. The location was excellent for us, within walking distance of Bryant Park, the Rockefeller Center, many Broadway Theaters, ABC and NBC studios?even Central Park if you don?t mind a couple mile walk. We totally enjoyed our stay?will stay there again if we return.
We stayed here in August to celebrate our daughters 13th birthday. We are a family of four, my husband, 13 year old daughter, 9 year old son and myself. The hotel staff was so welcoming and helpful in every way. We arrived a few hours ahead of check in time, but they allowed us to check in early. I had requested a couple of treats to be in our room when we checked in. They didnt have them available at check in, but the treats were in our room when we returned from the broadway show, along with a balloon bouquet and a birthday card for our daughter! Anything we needed or asked for during our 4 day stay was taken care of with a smile! The rooms are very spacious and clean. The kitchen is quite attractive and very useful for keeping snacks and drinks. The hot complimentary breakfast was good, we often took our plates of food back to our rooms and reheated our breakfasts as we each got showered and realy for our day. The hotel is in a great location. An easy walk in one direction...
The check in process was pretty average, but with unfriendly front desk attendants. The hallway was dirty on the floor that I was staying on...both trash on floor and carpet was dirty. Great location and good price, but below my expectations and below what I have experienced at other Marriott properties.
This was a great value for Manhattan. It was within walking distance of Times Square, Central Park, and many other popular New York hot spots. The staff was very friendly & helpful. When we arrived, there was only 1 operation elevator & the staff went out of their way to make sure people didn't have to wait too long for the elevator. The complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent - great if you have a family! The rooms were quite large (with a full kitchen) and the beds were extra comfortable. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel was very clean and had all the conveniences. Bed and bedding was great. Close to Times Square and our room had a spectacular view of the Empire State Bldg. Caution: If you have a vehicle, parking cost almost 25% of of nightly stay.
Clean, spacious and very nice room, close to Times Square. Complimentary breakfast and afternoon light dinner was a plus. Would recommend, and visit again.
We stayed in a large clean studio room for just two nights. It was a good experience but the room wasn't as large as I thought it would be. For example, when the sofa bed is pulled out there isn't any room to walk between it and the full/queen bed in the room. The pull out couch bed was as uncomfortable as we expected it would be, but after our long NY city days, we didn't care. Breakfast was plentiful in options, but so packed with people one of us had to stand to eat. Get there early I guess! Elevators were just as bad; the general advice was to go up to get down. Clean room. Prompt service. We'd stay again.
While the decor, aesthetics, and general reception are great, the customer service and professionalism from the front desk is completely sub-par and below standard for any hotel within this price per night range. I was completely taken by surprise and frankly, shocked when I realized minor construction on a door lock was going on in the room next to mine. Apparently, management thought it a good business idea to begin the deconstruction and removal of the lock with the requisite banging, clanging, kicks and other associated noises at 9:30 pm!! When I called the front desk to complain, the female rep advised that she didn't know when it was going to finish but that it would continue--completely uncaring that after taking two separate airplane rides to get to NY, encompassing a total of 15 hours, one flight from a recovering war zone no less, all I want to do is sleep and rest in order to be somewhat recovered from passing two continents and three time zones and to be prepared for a me...
Our stay at Residence Inn was actually better than expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even the maintenance staff always said hello and had a smile. The breakfast was good and they even provided a light supper which our family took advantage of. We would definanty return. P.S. Our City View rooms on the 27 floor had an outstanding view.
The room had enough floor space to pace around in without being cavernous. It was clean and comfortable. A good deal for the location.
The staff was very polite and helpfull.
The proximity of Time Square The window left all the street sounds, a chance that we have the air conditioning.
Convenient locaton and good value; free wifi No kettle to make tea
Close to times square room very hot. No A/C or other room temp controls. no ice machine
It's central position to the city. Some of the staff were unhelpful and it was in need of a complete good clean. The rooms were very dull and could do with a refurb!!!!!!
Times square was right round the corner, and there were plenty of nearby dining options. The staff were rude, the room smelled, the cleaners only made the bed and left rubbish in the room, the noise late at night meant we didn't get a wink of sleep, and they charged us to store our luggage. Also, security is not great, as they make you leave the key at the front desk each time you leave the hotel, and don't require ID to pick the key up.
location street noise when we were on the 2nd floor
staff was very helpful and courteous; very comfortable beds; housekeeping did a good job would have liked a hairdryer in the room and coffee available
It's very close to Times Square! But that is not really a plus since everything in New York is readily accessible via subway. Daily maid service was nice. Smelled musty, no amenities, not enough outlets to charge electronics like cell phones and laptops. Also there were bedside lamps but they were not plugged in and when we looked there weren't any outlets!!! When I return to NY I will definitely stay elsewhere! Mildew noted in the bathroom. And the place really needs to be renovated.
Location was good. But, I expected more from a 2-star hotel and even at the price offered. The staff were not unfriendly, but seemed a bit perfunctory. Perhaps overworked. Main complaint was that I was given a 2nd floor room on street side and there was construction outside the window till 3am the night I stayed. There was only a window air conditioner that worked well. However, it meant that there was not closing out the sounds from the street. Otherwise, the pillows were ok, but the bed was very hard relative to many other hotels I have been to. Second, the water in the shower had very low pressure, took a long time to get hot, and the diverter was whining the whole time. In comparison the sink had good pressure and heat. But, the plug wouldn't stay put making shaving with fill sink a problem. Lastly, there was a chair in the room, but no desk configuration other than for using the dresser as a makeshift desk.
Wonderful pleasant staff. Very helpful and inviting. Great location to everything!!!!! Clean, and good enough size for what we needed. Slow elevators
i arrived the hotel at ten and didnt have to wait until 15 for ckeck in, they gave me a room and did everything very very quickly..that was a great start. I went with my ten year old daughter and found the hotel couldnt be better for our stay. Breakfeast was perfect! location too...we walked everywhere...times square...rockerfeller center...central park..Moma..!! even build a bear and american girl...!! we had places open 24hs to buy something to eat or drink...free wifi ..and had a place with two computers in case you dont have your own! room ok too!!! clean ..small as all rooms in NY. ,but you only use it to sleep !!! they kept my luggage after i did my checkout!.. couldnt have chosen a better hotel for my stay with my daughter.
Good price, very clean. Great staff, very friendly and helpful Small room for 4 adults.
the location is very good! The Hotel staff isn't helpfull. They charged two days more even though I've left two days early. And they recived a packege for me after I checked out.
The staff was extremely friendly, they made us feel like customers and friends at the same time, a little bit like staying with the family but always very professional. Whenever we needed something everybody did everything and always with a smile. We will definitely choose this hotel again. The breakfast was excellent, the location is also very good.
Location One of us was literally in a basement room with no windows. My room was so small I could barely move.
Staff were Friendly, Location was perfect
Clean, great location, helpful staff, would highly recommend if you're just staying a few nights. We found this problem everywhere so it's probably just a personal preference, what's with USA and no kettles only coffee machines? I just want a cuppa after an lond touristy day.
this property addresses all the necessary parameters i.e. location, comfort, staff, facilities and services. gr8 experience
The staff is very kind and familiar. The breakfast is complete, well prepared and permited us to visit early the city.
It was a small quick little hotel located right near Time Square. While the room is about 2/3 or 1/2 the size of a typical room, the price and location makes it ideal for those that don't tend to spend much time at their hotel, but want to be located close to Time Square and the subway. The hotel staff was very attentive and nice to deal with. It has a really small room and there is no refrigerator to put our drinks, but since we only stayed one night, that was too problematic.
No cafe or restaurant or breakfast only on property
Kenneth at the front desk was exceptional - friendly and professional. The rooms were comfortable and suitable for a short stay in Manhattan. I thought the beds were comfortable, and the shades in the room fully blocked the view of other buildings. No vending machine meant we had to go to the 24 hour deli next door - there were men sitting in the deli and I felt uncomfortable with them watching me while I made a purchase.
it was a nice and clean room. breakfast was good though it was just muffins, bagels and toast, no eggs or ham. convenient location next to the subway
The terrace was hands down the best part of all the hotels we stayed at in NYC.
A small friendly hotel offering all you need. Immaculate rooms with great breakfasts and clean bed linen and towels every day. Excellent location for all the major sights - perfect for a long weeked sightseeing. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends and colleagues.
price, decor, breakfast, walk-in shower neighborhood, esp. garbage in streets, bed too hard, Minibar only coca-cola and alcohol - storing water, fruit, or juice prohibited enforced by electronic monitoring, cheap plastic cups - no glasses, "superior queen" sleeping room 10'x12', bath 4'x5' roof deck closed
The central location -could walk to the Village or the Park Complimentary breakfasts The price - but I guess that's NYC for you
- Friendly and helpful staff - Small but clean room, comfortable bed - Well-appointed and nice ambiance - Within easy walking distance of Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Times Square, Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, and other midtown sights, as well as shopping and good restaurants Disappointed that the rooftop garden was closed for renovation
I stayed in one of their newly renovated premium rooms and they are gorgeous!! Comparable to the Thompson hotels. Definitely a great value with an amazing location. Would definitely come back and recommend the renovated rooms.
The room was clean Extremely noisy (couldn't sleep at night) although I had asked for a quiet room, very basic breakfast
Nice location. Room was small, but clean and updated. Hotel itself is a bit dated and doudy.
The front-desk was very helpful The room was very small, and the bathroom was extremely cramped
Proximity to 7w building and Korean restaurants When booking thru online agencies you always get the room next to the elevator. It was quiet enuf but that was after we propped the banging fire door open.
very central location
