Very new facility in an old building in a good location close to trams (5 minutes walk). Rooms are small but very modern and clean but not air conditioned which can be aproblem on a hot day if you wish to rest. Otherwise a good value hotel with limited facilities. Recommended. no air con.
Clean, recently renovated, close to lots of Budapest attractions, I would stay here again. Wireless internet in the rooms did not work (weak signal) but worked well in the Lobby/breakfast area.
We received a room somewhere in the back of the reception. The room was very clean, we were satisfied with it. No parking places! Parking in Budapest is rather expensive, about 400Ft/hour.
Very nice and helpful staff, beautifull room, decent breakfast. It's not hard to find if you have a map (print yourself one after you book). During summer, air conditioning will be welcome. I was hot in Budapest and the room was still warm at night. We understood that they are going to implement AC, so it should be perfect in the future.
Staff was excellent Staircase, no elevators. I had big luggage. But it was ok b/c the staff was very kind and helped me carry it up and down the stairs. Wasn't a problem. The hotel is slightly on a side street is the only thing. But taxis are fairly cheap, so it was ok.
location, nice room's and furniture very bad isolation's,we could heared our's neighbor all the time, the hotel staff was very unpleasant at the beginning (in the morning, first day), and room look's biger on pictures
staff very friendly and helpful. Great location and access to public transport. can be noisy as no aircon,(does have heating for winter) and window faces on street and sounds carry exceptionally well. Not a major problem.
Quiet area, especially if you get an inner courtyard room. Room had new decor. Room and bathroom fairly small but well laid out and bathroom had good excellent extractor fan. Fridge/mini bar in room. Free tea available in reception. Breakfast simple but good for only $3 euro. Free wifi plus terminal in lobby. Excellent security. Walking distance to bars/restaurants and public transport. Limited street parking or parking garage close by. No english news channels available.
I stayed at this hotel on mid July 2009 for 2 nights. What I liked:1. relatively close to center(Vaci Utca) 15-20 min of walking; 2.clean rooms with modern furniture ;3. breakfast ok; 4. perfect free wireless connection; 5. no parking fee in front of hotel(in weekend) 6. large LCD TV What I didn't like: 1. No A/C(though many said that there's no need because it's an old building, I tell you can't stay in the room when outside it's above 30 degrees C)- so the first was horrible: opened window, but still so, so warm and a lot of noise from the street because of the opened window. The second day on the evening it rained the temperature dropped with 10 degrees so the atmosphere in the room was perfect. For this first night on a scale from 1 to 10 it deserves 1. ; 2.rather small room and tinny bathroom ; 3. outside aspect of the hotel(I'm not really interested about this aspect but still...); 4. small room for serving breakfast. ; 5. So, I'm afraid I can not recommend this hotel for what I wrote on first point
The staff was helpful, spoke good English, the room was comfortable although a bit small, the hotel is within walking distance from tourist attractions like the National Museum, the Synagogue and the Dome, Vaci Utca. The hotel does not have its own parking (but many other central hotels don't). We had a room with a street view which is OK, but other rooms open towards the interior court which is not so nice.
The hotel is new and well equipped. Though a bit small in size, the room is comfortable and service is fine. It is a bit walk from the hotel to the metro station (about 7,8 minutes). You need to take the metro to the central, so this hotel is not perfectly situated for those who dont want to walk too much.
The room size is big and it's cleanliness The information we told advanced was not correct. We have asked 2 times (via booking and direct to the hotel) the numbers of the bathrooms and they said the two bedroom executive has two bathrooms with toilet and shower. Actually there is only one bathroom and due to a smoke smell we asked to change the rooms. The staff was not really willing to help us. Beside this there is told about a swiiming pool which is actually not in the hotel but in a fitness centre behide the hotel and you have to pay for it, even though with discount I feel it's a little bit deception. The hotel is a liitle far from the centre.
The courtesy of the Manager for upkeep of Rooms. I was frustrated by the fact that the Wi-fi or Internet did not function. I followed up the whole day with the reception and was unable to perform my business duties and missed many online meetings. They kept promising that the internet will be there soon, the technician is on the plane etc with stories. The Wi-fi finally started working when I checked out the next day. I do not recommend the stay in Fraser apartment.
Friendly staff; clean room The hotel is not air-conditioned and the windows had to be open to get sufficient ventilation. However, because of a VERY noisy bar close by, it was impossible to sleep unless you closed the windows. Then the room quickly became too hot to get to sleep.
The staff is very gentle, always ready to help you; Near to city centre and a few steps from Astoria metro stop
Good central location, away the main street.
very close to the center - Danube river ... (actually the hotel is in the center) no possibility of supper!!!
be aware of major work in the next building that starts at 6.30am, and will go on for at least a few weeks, if you are light sleeper
room was very comfy and clean.jacuzzi &sauna superb after a long days walking.nice &quiet.the perfect stay no
The hotel was very quiet The price of the breakfast was very expensive - 16euro for a continental breakfast.
great,,,, wonderfully,,,,rooms none
great value for money, clean rooms, varied breakfast, friendly reception, just a three-minute walk from the nearest metro station (Astoria) and just 15 minutes from the Danube
Very good position. Price of the breakfast (which was not included), but many good places to have cheap breakfast around the hotel.
Very good location, close to centre, the staff are polite, friendly, and helpful, very clean hotel... good choice!! no comment
The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was delicious and the desk staff was helpful.
the room was very nice and clean; it was quite cold and wet whilst I was there and the heating system made the room very warm and toasty! The staff were very polite and friendly and if you were a vegetarian the breakfast was fine. The location was not in the best area and it felt a bit "edgy" at night and I don't think I would have gone out on my own in the evening.
Good service for the money Sauna is not equipped with a relax room. Parking space in arranged in a different hotel. Room was not equipped with a electric kettle, so we could not prepare a tea or coffee for us.
Clean room, nice breakfast included in the room price. The room was not too capacious.
Very helpful staff Nothing
My room faced the street and was very noisy at the first night. I asked to change and they gave me a bigger, comfortable, and quiet room for another two nights. Breakfast was pretty good. Although it takes a little walk from the Metro station, it was worthwhile concerning the good quality and the price.
The staff are kind and competent. The hotel is close to the train station and quite near (15 minutos walk away) the city center - Blahja Luisa station. The breakfast is nice, the rooms and facilities new and nice. Best 4 star-hotel budget. The surroundins are not beautiful, yet its safe and that´s why the hotel offers a good fare.
Recently refurbished, nice and good. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Central in Budapest The wifi internet access was bad. Could do with some instant coffee and tea at the room.
Fantastic breakfast and lovely staff
the shower was great lack of english tea at breakfast and tea and coffee making facilities in the room
The hotel room was modern and clean; the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive; breakfast was good too. The hotel is close to a mainline train station which is an area prone to vagrants. Lone travellers should take note to stay on big, well lit roads.
Location Staff not nice exely root at times
Acomfortable hotel and good value for money it was not as central as we had thought and there werent many cafes or restaurants nearby.
Location, hotel staff Jacuzzi didn't work, for hotel with 4 stars they must have free wireless internet. AC worked but only heating.
Nice size rooms Very clean & comfortable Nice fitness facility Gracious lobby & stairways Comfortable bed Lunch in restaurant was very good at reasonable cost Very nice location
Internet access expensive, but at the end anyhow it did not work. Both in-room and wireless access failed.
Location, Cleanliness, Rooms.
The location is walking distance from city center, from the Synagoge and from the River the pictures in the web site...arent like in real.
Staff were always friendly and helpful, facilities provided in hotel were quite good Would have liked if breakfast had been warmer but otherwise good selection
It was very central and close to the metro and bus lines
Nothing I forgot my importnat goods at the hotel, but it was already throw away .... Cleaning lady doesn't have wel trained... I think...
it was ok from all points of view.
Good comfort, nice staff, good work guys :)
The position is great! You can walk from the station to the hotel and you can walk from the hotel to the city center! Buses and tram are very close. The place is very silent. The staff is very very friendly and usefull. I've made new friends! The rooms are perfect, there is everything you need and also more!
Clean and tidy close to center
Plenty of space in the rooms, location was good. No kettles in rooms or kitchen areas.
Very close to train station but not to many attractions. Good breakfast. Shower and facilities need maintenance.
nothing is satisfied.
Tha staff was ready to service. Good breakfast. The location.
We needed a hotel close to the train station, therefore the location was perfect. The staff was very helpful, many thanks for that! For me as a vegetarian the breakfast offer was rather limited. The rooms were very laconic, I wouldn't rate this hotel as a 4-star hotel.
good location, clean room single bed is too too small, breakfast is too simple
Very nice room. Very clean and new bathroom. Well located
Good location, helpful staff, excellent breakfast, nice comfortable and clean room, very quiet.
Location very near to the railway station, good selection of food for Breakfast. The room was big and comfortable. Only a minor point but the cofee was very weak at Breakfast.
very close to metro and railways
large varieties of food in breakfast The house keeper did not wash the glasses after used
Location At least a kettle for hot water should be provided.
Location next to train station Staff was awesome! We had room 514, clean enough at $49usd and only 1 night Remember. You get in life, what you pay for. For the price in a city, stuck accidentally overnight - thus hotel rocks... Dark hallways
Family hotel/hostel with a few rooms and a very nice furnishment. In the 1st breakfast (sunday) the bread wasn't fresh and the milk wasn't good. The next days it was ok.
The girl in reception is very nice to answer our questions and even kindly tell us we don't need to check out on time because the rooms are not needed for the next day. There's no window or ventilator in the toilet.
It felt really coz, the hostel owner is really friendly and helpful. The location was also great. not really..
It was very close to the train station and the center There is no bathroom in the room
Kind attitude and help of the manager Mark, short distance from the railway station, easy to get to the attractions, the existence of allmost necessary things in the room: towels, hair dryer, soap, kettle, cups etc. It was difficult to find the hotel at the first day, because the sign of the hotel is too small; absence of the wardrobe in the room
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was quiet, as I requested, and clean and tastefully decorated. The location was very convenient, being located directly above a metro stop. Heat and hot water were not available in my room during the second night I stayed, and unfortunately the hostel/hotel is not staffed at night so I could not ask about having that fixed.
Very kind person, stylish rooms vith big wide windows. Tremendous bath with hot water. Very clean. So next time we`ll stay there.
the friendly people the location
location, cleanliness, breakfast was excellent, good value there is no 24 h reception but that was not a problem for us
they did not sell food. like lunch and dinner etc or even snacks.
Great free breakfast. Uninterested employees, warm room, sketchy area.
Location, clean, quiet, freindly staff.
Quite nice interiors and pretty convenient location. Very noisy fan and breakfast was just awful. I don't think one can say it is a boutique hotel although pleasant to stay.
Lovely hotel, excellent breakfast, good location and friendly staff. I recommend it everyone.
Coffee cold at breakfast and also sachets of coffee in room were 3 in 1 - not good for those of us who do not take milk or sugar in colour, especially for someone with diabetses
eat breakfast cant open tv
Very modern hotel (i.e., 3 months old).
Clean room and good breakfast. Neighborhood a bit run-down, but no problems were experienced. On one morning there was no hot water.
very good breakfast, cleanness, very close to metro stop, fairly big room. The wireless did not work for us. The bathroom was smelling bad. We reserved a double bed but we received a twin. We could not freely speak after 10pm because our room had a door to the next room and our voice was disturbing them and vice versa.
Free wireless internet. Room did not have a window.
Really nice new hotel ... big comfortable rooms & nice bathroom for peoples who like the minimalist style. I just can recommend it. The hotel is too big for my taste. Huge distance between the elevator and my absolutely nice room.
It is a quite place with very confortable and large room Sauna was not operating around 7pm
I booked through booking.com: a Deluxe Double Room with breakfast included.
Accommodation was perfect. Great spacious rooms, bed and bath (we had "smallest" type). Easy safe parking just in hotel under ground. Good location - on the same corner is underground train and trams. Quite expensive parking (around 20 euro per day) and very expensive Internet connection (around 7 euro per HOUR and 14 euro per 24 hours) - but on every corner is cafe with free wifi. When you will come by car dont change money on borders - there are terrible rates (in Budapest centre are exchanges with rates up about 20% better, than on borders with other countries)
The check in process was professional and prompt. The Front office team in general was informative and polite. Our room was of good size, modern, clean and comfortable with the amenities required. Location was near the metro with a good assortment of drunks and vagrants - although apparently harmless and reasonably safe. The Food and Beverage department is a disaster. The Dir. of F&B should be sacked for the lack of training and leadership of the team as well as no supervision. For the three days that we stayed there, the breakfast experience was such a challenge. There was often only one cook in they're open kitchen who could not cope with keeping the buffet stocked and we had to keep making several trips to the buffet to get food as it arrived . The wait staff would wipe the tables with unclean towels and and let the debris go to the floor, The kitchen was openly dirty, one of the male cooks never wore a hat. In the back of kitchen, through an open door, I witnessed a wait person rinse out /wash a pitcher in a handwash sink.
I especially liked the staff, who was very friendly and helpful, and the promotion whose forth night was an offer. I didn't like the smell in the corridors.
Nice location (Blaha Luja), 10 min walk to subway, 20-25 min walk to centre. Reasonable price.
The jacuzzi the noise from outside (the street)
Friendly and helpfull stuff. The lounge-bar is nice and opened 24 hours. It offers soft drinks, beer, sandwitches ... there is allways something.
Location and staff was helpful, parking is great - inside the building and secure There was poor wifi reception in the room
Safe parking In in the room should be a bedside table and in the bathroom should be at least a chair,
It is unacceptable to ask to pay the hotel in advance, when you have a credtcard nr. and have checked the value of the creditcard!.
Reception staff has been very kind and professional to explain everything about city and trips Tables cleaning on breakfast time is not sufficient. Distance from the city centre is about 20 minute by walking and metro stop about 10 minutes, this is not descripted in the hotel Web site and booking.com
rooms nice and large, good breakfasts.Staff really friendly and helpful lifts always seem to be stuck on one floor, restaurant often difficult to find a table plus some foods ran out esp the yoghurts when the child groups were booked in.Shower needed a good clean to get rid of mould.Website led me to believe hotel neared to city centre than it actually was.
Good, well-equipped hotel just outside the city centre, with some very good VFM restaurants (as well as plenty of shops) within easy reach. Good-sized bedrooms that are comfortable, clean and fitted with aircon; breakfast/breakfast room perfectly OK; nice bar with plenty of comfortable seating. Helpful staff. Overall, very good value for money. The bar temporarily ran out of the excellent Hungarian beer it serves!
-very comfortable, everything was OK
Everything worked as planned. There is a free public parking on the streets outside the hotel
Good breakfast, nice hotel room. Noisy plastic sheet on bed.
fruit salad :) poor internet
Hotel staff were kindly. The breakfast was abundant. My room was cold during my stay. The heater became operative just my last day. The walls cracked.
The hotel staff were very kind to book a cab from the hotel to the airport. But this ended in "alternative" solution using unauthorized taxi service. This did not cost any more than a mini-bus service offered by the airport itself. So no hard feelings here, but they should have done it better than that.
We took bus to Budapest from Prague and then Vienna. We arrived at the Orangeways Bus Station near by Tulip Inn and we wanted to engage siteseeing immediately. Hotel staff told us room is yet available at 10:30am but let us drop off our lugguge bags, gave us enough info to the city, and we made our trip. After return to the hotel at late night we got room keys with no delay. We had next day until 3pm to tour the city before we left the city, we checked out and hotel held our lugguges inside their front desk. We had a very good breakfast in the morning and caght our return bus with no delay. This hotel is at a good location off subway and Orangeways bus station and we paid Euro36/night including breakfast, a good price value.
It was handy to the metro. The staff were very helpful.
Traveling by car, it was very easy to get anywhere, the hotel is located in a good spot! Very important the hotel have parking place (with barrier) so the car was safe! The room was clean. It could use a renovation. The room was a little outdated... stained carpet in many places, burned with cigar, in the bathroom the door frame was rotten; but in the room it was clean. The parking is chargeble....:((( While I was there, some tourists were accommodated (think Russia) and maked noise on the corridor at night. At breakfast there were no empty tables, I had to walk with food in my hand until it released a table. About the food variety of breakfast ... not even talk ... almost zero!
